I mean he must have brought it up 3-4 times throughout the episode, that he intends to fight 30 more months, until Fall 2015 and call it quits. I really hope it's true, that he stays busy for those 30 months, because no one can deny Floyd fighting is good for the sport.
So....do you think he actually keeps his word and stays busy for 30 more months???

Fighting a lightweight at a broken weight, good for the sport?
Fighting a blown up "welterweight" who was exposed at 147, good for the sport?
Fighting a guy with 9 losses while saying you won't fight a guy with 4 is good for the sport?
etc. etc.
gtfoh with that mess
who does Khan have to beat first?
IF he gets past his next fight then fights someone else half decent and wins i would have no problem watching the fight. The only reason i would be so interested is cause mayweather hasn't fought someone that fast in a long time.

Yeah, why not? Its only about 2 more fights for him. lmao
How long is Tim Bradley contract with top rank? Surely his management would be begging for him to leave. He would def be front runner for mayweather.
I guess he still has two maybe three big paydays (Marquez, manny, Rios/alverado/prov) with top rank but if he times it right he could be one of Floyds last opponents.
I don't see 5 other PPV level opponents out there right now. That could change of course, but outside of Canelo, none of the PPV fighters are ready or work with TR/HBO.
A LOT of fighters can sprout out of no where. We know this.
At 140 you have Danny Garcia as the biggest name there.
At 147 Alexander and Thurman are possibilities.
At 154 you have the winner of Canelo-Trout.
There's also other guys that could just come out of nowhere. You never know, him and Broner could have a falling out and have bad blood against each other and that is a possibility. If Ortiz can come back, there's that rematch with an older Floyd and the way it ended, it could be interesting. If Maidana beats Lopez, there's another possibility.
There's the winner of the 140 tourney, other than Garcia who just mentioned, Peterson, Matthysse, Khan. If Cotto beats the winner of Trout-Canelo, there's that other possibility, May-Cotto II.
Of course, there's always that big risk to fight Martinez.
Once a win happens there though, it won't be.
If Lamont Peterson beats Lucas, I have no problem with him fighting Floyd. Garcia/Judah winner can rematch Khan in the fall. Peterson would have recent wins over Khan (when he was THE MAN at 140, aside from an inactive Bradley) and Matthysse (who is one of the top guys at 140 too). Very good wins for him.
If Devon wins, I'd like to see him fight Thurman/Chaves, Berto/Soto Karass, Ortiz, or even Guerrero even if he loses to Floyd. Same goes for Kell Brook.
Just to me anyway, Peterson admitting he was on testosterone PRIOR to the Khan fight, bothers me. Maybe it was for medical reasons, but it still bugs me. Also doesn't he have to fight the winner of Garcia/Judah as per the GBP 140 pound tourney? I wouldn't mind the winner of the whole thing getting a shot at Floyd, while Canelo gets him in September if he can beat Trout. If Brook wins, I'd be good with him fighting the Thurman/Chaves winner. I think Ortiz will fight the Berto/Soto Karass winner after his tune up in September.
If Broner does stay at WW after Malignaggi, I wouldn't mind him getting Guerrero coming off the Floyd loss. There are possibilities and Floyd would be the one selling these fights, so the opponent isn't as critical. I guess will just have to see what unfolds in the coming months.
How long do you suggest his body takes to recover from one fight because it certainly would not take 12 months?
Floyd can fight every 6-8 months probably.
He didn't fight after Cotto because he spent the summer in jail. Had he been released on house arrest, I'm willing to bet he would have fought in November or December.
Probably how long his contract is for just gonna bank and retire,he knows he cant fight for ever no one can, and he aint no bhop so the end is near, either by choice or force and floyd is the type to play it safe and go out by choice.
It's been well documented by now that the contract with Showtime s for a single fight only, with options for more to a maximum of 30 months and 6 fights. It's been assumed that Mayweather can stop anytime before then. It has never been made clear whether Showtime has the same option, what IS clear is that Mayweather is definitely booked for one fight.
I don't know why you ignore the facts. I don't think it's likely that a man who's had 5 fights in nearly seven years, could suddenly switch to a tough fight every 5 months at age 36. I don't think his body would stand it, and I don't think it would pay him well enough. Also, I don't think he'll do it.
Of course it's only my opinion, but there's justificatrion for it.
i dont think you understand the type of beating guerrero is going to put on flody win or lose , he sounds like he knows though.
that 30 months is actually less than 30 days now....
Those are possible, but I really hope Peterson/Lucas and Brook would take another fight with a top WW before getting a Floyd fight. I guess Khan won't ever go away as an option either, but if he went to WW, got a decent win, then fought Brook, I could see the winner getting a shot. I think Broner is a possibility too, regardless of how good a friends they are right now. They just seem like hard sells ATM.

Here's a prediction.....
Guerrero, Peterson (if he beats Lucas, yes I could see that happening), Brook (if he beats Alexander), Alvarez (if he beats Trout), Garcia (if he continued winning between now and late next year), and than possibly Pacquiao or Bradley if their contracts expire from top rank at some point.

Been saying for a minute that Floyd and Pac would loose at least once more each before finally retiring for good.
I don't care how much Floyd makes, only a handful of athletes generate the residual income after retirement to support the kind of life Floyd lives, and people don't give a **** about boxers these days.
He went broke in 18 months last time he retired, man.

I just hope we see him fight twice a year these last few years.
