Whats if a fighter tested postive for a banned substance 1 day before the fight?

Schaefer is terrified of test results. Wouldn't you be? his entire business relies on a fighter not being dumb enough to cheat and/or get caught cheating. Can you imagine if big name like Canelo Alvarez or FMJ were to fail a test during the week of a fight? it would be financially disasterous for GBP. Not condoning their little arrangements, but one can see their motivation particularly when so many other boxing promoters aren't even bothering with testing.

but i do understand that it takes several days for the results to come in from the lab. im talkin about a test that was taken a week prior (random tests, props to Mayweather and especially Donaireh) then commission be like "your test last week came up positive." just needed to add this in there so boxingscene experts dont attack me :D

VADA >> USASA. VADA test for all types of steroids including undetectable designer steroids and HGH while USADA just test for common steroids.

USADA are sullying their reputation with these bullshit arrangements they have with Golden Boy. They need to do something about it for their own sake. If all that stuff in the Hauser article had came out last summer when the Lance-USADA battle was reaching boiling point, Armstrong would have been all over it. The world's media would have been covering these incidents instead of a handful of boxing journalists. In a way, it actually would have great for the sport if that had happened. That pressure would have provoked a response.

As some others have stated, a very similar situation happened with Morales vs. Garcia. Morales failed a test and the NYSAC absurdly let the fight go on with Garcia's consent.

Would the fight still go on? does the commission stop it? does the clean fighter have the choice to put a green light on the fight and say fck it, the show must go on? i know the positive fighter is gonna be frowned upon but i have a feeling that the clean fighter will also get heat for not choosing not to fight. cuz thats how fight fans are. has this ever happened before?
