Matthysse Gets Screwed Again With 141lb Catchweight

Who says this was Peterson's idea? This clearly benefits Matthysse. Either way he's getting a title or a shot at Garcia. He benefits pretty well from this so let's not act like this is some corruption by GBP. If he beats Peterson, he is still Garcia's mandatory. It would add more pressure for Garcia to fight him and ensure a title spot. If Garcia decides to pursue another belt, he'll still end up with a belt that he would win if he'd beat Peterson. If he loses, which is very well possible, he still gets a shot at Garcia because he would be the mandatory. If Garcia wants to fight Peterson, he'll have to vacate and Matthysse gets a belt.

Here's wats gonna happen. After the peterson fight, Danny Garcia is gonna vacate the WBC belt cause he has to. Matthysse as the interim champion will then fight the number 2 contender for the vacant wbc belt. That way GP will have 3 champions at 140. It's bull**** and super shady.

Or else he could have turned it down and fought at 140 for the IBF title. Who was it addressed by? Because Lucas himself said it, it must be true? No one gives a damn when Floyd denies being the exaggerated 160lbs on fight night, and claims to be 150lbs instead. Either he took it or he wasn't going to get a fight. Swap Lucas and Lamont for Donaire and Rigo, GBP for Arum, SHO for HBO, and make the fight at 123 pounds.....and let's see if Dempsey Rollin, Shoulder Roll, Kev et all would be so philosophical about it. Just the integrity of the sport (I know, what integrity?) I look forward to hearing Schaefer blame this on HBO and Arum. GBP is doing something good for the fans by having unification fights. But because of the WBC there is the potential that one of the belts will be left vacant and that one of Arum's fighters will be in a position to swoop in and pick it up. Since Arum generally refuses to make matchups with GBP's champions why would GBP give him the chance to pick up one of the belts so easily? This is a completely messed up state of affairs in boxing but I can actually see how HBO and Top Rank might be involved in this decision.
