Arum says that they may have an announcement on Pac's opponent by the end of the week. Honestly, I get the sense it wont be JMM #boxing
Thanks for the correction. I forgot Floyd is WBA super at 154, not WBC. He usually goes for the green belt. Well there's still the WBA, they can always get rid of super champs later.
He has a super belt right now and I think the WBA are holding out on him defending it later.
I don't think they care that much. Shumenov still has a belt and it'll be almost a year since he defended his.
Also when is the end of the week.... today?
No brainer?
How many Super WBC champs are there?
And do you really think Floyd would make room for another champ?
And the WBA are getting rid of super champs

I gave you 2 regular belts that could easily vacant: Floyd and Broner to super champ. No brainer.

Bradley dropped that WBO belt and went to fight Pac..It was a vacant belt,no harm in Marquez going for it..There are no vacant belts at 147lb tho, they are all occupied..
He didn't go for it, he went for the vacant interim belt, and eventually got promoted. That's one route, another is promoting another champ to super and having the regular title open up.
He accepted that because it was upgraded. if he fought for a interim he wouldn't count it until it was upgraded.... and which interim can he fight for that'd get upgraded besides a interim WBO against Bradley?

Its gonna be Bradley since he just upped his name.
Then Marquez gets Rios or Alvarado and Ruslan gets whoever is left over. If Marquez wants to sell good PPV numbers it would be Rios but it'd be f*cked up to give Alvarado the loser (Ruslan) since he just beat Rios.
Hard to tell. But I'm almost certain its Pacquiao vs Bradley. Not too sure what happens with the other guys.

If Manny fights in Macau, Arum will lose money on PPV. No way around that.
Bro, what do you think Pacquiao-Alvarado is going to be? A PPV hit?
---
If not Marquez, obviosuly Bradley deserves it, but those two may already be in negotiations. IF they are tied up with each other, then I'd accept an Alvarado fight...although I have a feeling Rios would be chosen based on name value and having a Mexican fanbase (not because I believe Manny is scared of Alvarado).
Nothing is worng with Pacquiao-Alvarado. It's just not going to sell, I think. 400-450k. Maybe that's good to some, but I don't think Pacquiao's going to like it. This guy is used to getting some pretty nice paydays, and those kind of numbers are going to be a helluva drop off. I'm not hating on Alvardo, I'm just being realistic.
Neither one is a good option, Rios or Alvarado. Someone already pointed it out, if you wanna give Rios the fight, should've gave it him when he won by stoppage. Alvarado wins a competitive decision and he deserves the Pac fight more than Rios did back then? C'mon, sh*t don't make any sense.
Hoping for Bradley-Pacquiao II. I think everybody's happy with that one :boxing: But I do want to see Bradley-Marquez...we'll see, I guess.
It may not make more sense that fight.
But I think Pacquaio-Bradley is next.
And, those fights make the most sense from what's available;
Alvarado
Marquez
Rios
Ruslan
If It's Marquez-Bradley, then Pacquaio-Alvarado and Rios-Ruslan would make the most sense.
That said, I think it's going to be Pacquaio-Bradley.
I agree..But imo Bradley Marquez makes the most sense out of any fight TR can make tbh..Pac Bradley makes a hell of a lot of sense as well, but I'd rather see Pac fight Rios or Alvarado..Really Rios tho,to make sure Pac is still who we think(or want to believe)he is..Ya know..
But he accepts the 140 title which is as paper as it gets.
Really, you're underestimating sanctioning body flexibility in these matters.

How would everyone here feel if it was Alvarado? I mean, rips was a good win for Alvarado but I don't think Alvarado should fight PAC, I just don't think he's ready for that type of fight yet
He's not... which is why the'd pick him... because homeboy just got KO'd and people are losing faith, saying he should retire.
What better way to make him look good again than putting him in there with someone he should beat
Marquez Alvarado, makes more sense then Marquez Bradley??How so if ya don't mind me asking..

If its not Pac/JMM 5 you gotta think they go for light hitting bradley after that big KO loss.
Provodnikov vs. Rios and Alvarado vs. Marquez. Not too many options out there for Bob.

That's true, but I don't see him cutting it out entirely... I think he's going to accommodate to the U.S
Strip somebody for no reason and get sued?
Sure as hell won't strip Floyd, GBP has the WBA down on lock, they have a fight going for the IBF soon and as long as they pay their dues they're fine.
WBA is getting rid of the super champs too.
Also if they do that to Floyd's belt, the have to risk the possibility of him dropping their ass.
They might do some phony diamond belt, but Marquez wants the full title.
Like I said, he wants a legit belt. Dude doesn't accept the WBO belt he won from Pac as legit, the one that was made up

They said it'd be scheduled so it's prime time in the US, so not necessarily

There's lots of ways around this. They could strip someone, or promote them to super champ, not necessarily in advance.
How about this stroke of genius; WBC promotes Floyd to super champ, and have them contest for the vacant regular one. That creates an interesting scenario
