lol, thank that holyman... i would'nt have bet on provodnikov with 100:1 odd... on a rematch with 5:1 or more , prolly would....
I studied that fight & very sure it will be a close fight & it did, it's really worth my $100 risk! In the rematch it will be only 2-1 odds.
this^^^^^^^^^^
That's the thing. He's on youtube hyping up his big time "5k" bet like it's a big deal. It's not, and the fact that he thinks that it is, means he is more likely betting about 10% of that, if at all.
Shoot i bet 300 on Guererro with 7-1 odds and i thought that was alot. 5K? :Flush:
But if you got it then you got it. Who knows this kid may be the son of a CEO or something
This is the biggest fight that a cuban guy been into in the last years and I strongly believe that Rigo is a especial fighter, I watched more than 60 of his fight and he is not used to lose..he allways knockout or totally outbox his opponents.. his experience is something else..dude been in the ring and defeat Abner Mares, Yuriorkis Gamboa(2x), Argenis Mendez, Richard Abril, Luis Franco..Rigo walk like a boxer, his movements are natural..with that odds I can't resist..I just hope that the best boxer win...
I'll only will bet an underdog with more that 5:1 odds. I almost bet $100 on Provodnikov with almost an 8-1 odds. But some holy man here gave me a sermon not too! I would have been furious & *****ing until now If I did put the bet!! hehe

tbh , if i had that kind of money to waste , with this kind of odds , i prolly would've done the same for the doinare vs montiel show down ... but thats due to montiel being a proven goods..
with rigo , i say this kid got ballls ....

The deciding factor of this fight is whether or not Donaire can Counter Rigo.
If he can, Rigo will stop being aggressive after he eats a couple hard power shots and go full defense.
Either way I think it's unwise to put so much money on an untested fighter with only 11 pro fights.
lol dude you're already at the stop...the question is will he ever start to be aggresive? you shouldn't even be using aggresive and rigo in the same sentence.:nono:
i dont hold it againts riog coz i honestly think thats the way he's going to fight nonito .. nonito can be outboxed no doubt, it's how rigo is going to do it is something i dont see yet and i wish i could say diffrently ...maybe i need to watch his fights again...but ive been wrong lots of times , lol....
We all have. lol
I'm hoping I'm wrong this time, 'cause I give Donaire the edge. I'm hoping Rigo delivers beyond my expectations. I think the fight will go the distance and Guillermo will at least prove himself to many doubters. If "El Chacal" wins, it'll make my month.
Agreed. I'm not gonna pretend that Rigo isn't one of those guys. I love watching the guy fight, I think he's fascinating to watch at work, but I sometimes wish "El Chacal" would be a little more active. It's like he goes into sparring mode, staring at his inferior opponent, as if to say, "You can't touch me, and you can't stop me from touching you." That wears on me sometimes. Being a counter-puncher is fine, but you've gotta do a better job of stirring up action if you're going to maintain interest. Guille is new as a professional. He's still building his pro game. I've seen some improvement and hope for more.

well , you're right but you gotta factor in the style and the personality of a fighter coz some don't mind stinking a fight as long as they win , thats why fighters get bashed for being boring and not throwing enough punches ..
yup , i read that about floyd too but if you compare floyd's accuracy againts cotto to pac's , pac has the higher percentage of punches landed in both jabs and power punches department....this would'nt have happened had floyd chose to box..but again , it would've prolly ended diffrently....

You're right, more punches thrown will equal decreased accuracy. I know it's not his style, but, again, I say that Rigo doesn't have to throw so many punches because he hits what he aims at to begin with. I can't say how high Guillermo's connect-percentage is, but it seems evident to me that the guy is about as precise as they come. I read some time ago that Mayweather was the most accurate puncher since Compubox first started keeping score. It would be interesting to research how Rigondeaux stacks up. I'd be willing to bet "El Chacal" compares favorably.

It's a fight. Rigo's going to get hit. But I don't think he's going to get hit very often or very cleanly. In any event, Guille isn't an aggressor by nature. If he's dissuaded from countering, then he has nothing left. The fight will turn into a defensive snore-fest. I don't think that's going to happen. At least, I sincerely hope that doesn't happen.

oh yeah , accuracy is a given coz what good is versatilty without it...the amount of punches thrown is a big factor in accuracy... when a fighter picks his shots rather than throw combinations , the chances are the one who thrwos more would have lower accuracy altho he may have higher number of punches landed..
how high is rigo's accuracy in counterpunching alone?...coz unless , you sit down and count the numbers , i thinks there aint a way of knwoing who is the more accurate counterpuncher..
