On The Road to Donaire-Rigondeaux, Donaire said, "Were going to go out there and try to KILL each other". There is absolute hatred from both teams and they genuinely hate each other. Both guys will try to go for the KO early and often with the intent to kill each other. Don't expect any post fight handshakes and congratulations because this will be a brutal war inside the ring on April 13.
it was a straight right that broke Mat's jaw mate......
Yeah I know but my point is if Nonito's second best punch can break someones jaw, imagine what his best punch the left hook would do.
That's precisely why I'm picking Donaire. It's hard to stay away from a guy with that speed and power for 12 rounds. I'm not saying it isn't possible but it will be incredibly hard to pull off.
Donaire is fast, strong and probably the hardest puncher pound for pound in the sport right now.
Yeah if this fight was shorter then Rigondeaux has a much better chance but for the full 12 rounds I don't feel Rigondeaux has what it takes to go the distance against the caliber of Nonito Donaire.
Nonito's left hook has the power to break Rigondeaux's jaw like it did to Mathebula, there's no doubt about that if it connects.

Rigondeaux is the best defensive fighter in boxing right now but what I love about Donaire is that it only takes one mistake from Rigo for Nonito to plant that left hook on his chin.

Two counter punchers fighting so it is expected. It still should be a good fight though. Neither fighter can get to careless because they can hurt each other.
There is a $300,000 bonus for a KO so they will be aggressive.
I have Nonito winning this fight but Rigo is the best defense fighter I have ever seen live. I have brought one of my kids to spar him on two occassions and he's an INCREDIBLE boxer. He moves so fluid and with such explosive speed, it's hard to describe unless you are there watching it.
Rigo is a legend in the sport, there's a reason he has 12 fights and is fighting one of the pound for pound best in the world.
The reason I'm picking Donaire is because he too is very fast and I just can't see him staying away from Donaire for 12 rounds but there will be moments when he shows how great of a boxer he really is.

I don't know how 'superb' Rigo's defence is. I think a lot of people are understandably smitten by just how damn smooth and comfortable he looks in the ring. He's ridiculously slick, but I think that leads people to overlook some of the flaws that the dude has, particularly when he switches into attack mode himself.
I think he's very open to counter shots when he pounces, especially to the left hook, but he really hasn't faced guys who are good enough to really punish him for it, even if he has faced guys who have shown that he can be punished.
I think Rigo can take away Nonito's best punches if that's what he sets his mind on. But he has to take risks himself to actually win the fight, and if Donaire is as good a counterpuncher as he has looked to date then I'd question Rigo's ability to stay out of harms way.
Rigondeaux's defense is world class but I do agree if he opens up that will also play into Donaire's wheelhouse.

Yeah but like Max Kellerman said Rigondeaux has superb defense and real punching power. Nonito is in for a tough fight, the toughest in his career. It wont be decided until the championship rounds and there Donaire will finally get a chance to unleash his humongous left hook and that will KTFO Rigo.

There is real bad blood between both teams. Rigondeaux has made several racist remarks and low blow comments toward Donaire.
Racist remarks? Stop spreading false information dude.
Calling an Asian a "chino" is not racist. That's the way we talk in Spanish.

Truer words have never been written.
It's a myth that Rigondeaux's chin is weak, it's not the best but it's very good. With that being said if Donaire can plant that left hook perfectly like he did to Montiel and Arce, it's over for Rigo.
I honestly think Rigo team should pull out I love the sport and love to see KO's but we are talking about life or death here for Rigo.
I mean WTF, we really want to see this lil dude die on Live TV.
Truer words have never been written.
lol damn Rigo is ****ed then. Unless he lands a lucky Marquez type KO punch he's getting Laid out
