Will Guerrero be a tougher opponent for Mayweather than Victor Ortiz?

Interesting....seems split down the middle...I still say Guerrero is easy work for Mayweather. I think people are going to be surprised by Floyd. He's going back down to 147, hopefully he doesn't have the flu and he seems to be training like an animal. I can't wait to see it live :) Problem is, many times Floyd makes things look so easy that he winds up taking crap about his opponent and suddenly they are "a bum".

I think Ortiz is better than Guerrero and would beat him... He's like a bigger, faster, stronger version of Guerrero... Equally as "dirty" as well. I think just age wise the fight may be harder and also because the fight will last longer since It probably wont end in an abrupt manner like the Ortiz one did. I also disagree with people saying He has things ortiz doesnt (like a chin and stamina) Ortiz has quite a chin and the guy is in supreme shape. Mental toughness is about all he does have over Ortiz...but he's probably just as wreckless an cant defend an uppercut worth a damn... Still, Ortiz CAN be a Lion..on certain days of the month lol

I think so because he's waaaaaay smarter than Ortiz. He's not going to get away from the plan or let Floyd get in his head. he's smarter than a tree? congrats to him.

I doubt it. Guererro's may not have the physical attributes that Ortiz has but he has the mental toughness, chin, stamina, versatility, things Ortiz doesn't bring to the table. And if people cant see Floyd is aging they not looking , also it will be interesting to see any effects of the jail time , I think it had a profound effect on Floyd mentally .

guerrero is a bum, but then again ortiz is a bum so it's hard to know How is Guerrero a bum? He just put on a great performance against Berto, and while Robert isn't an A level fighter, he's a solid B IMO anyway and showed more heart and toughness in that fight. If manny was fighting him people would be praising the little big headed dwarf to no end. The double standards are amusing at least.

I sure as hell hope so!! Ortiz didnt do anything. Floyd did him a favor by throwing that punch. That fight was turning in Floyds favor. Guerrero probably lands more.. but the outcome wont be any different.

I think so. Guerrero seems to be a smarter fighter than Ortiz. He also seems to fight with more heart and is mentally stronger. He appears to be slightly taller with longer arms. I would love to see Ortiz and Guerrero fight. It would be a war. I still don't think he will be able to deal with the all around skill set of Floyd.

I say yes because he will try to rough house Floyd,so it will be a messy fight. Yes, I think the same as well, Guerrero will definitely try to rough him up. However, Floyd has seen the same from the IMO much stronger Hatton and Cotto as well. I do expect a higher possibility of headclashes, elbows and probably a very unfriendly fight instead of just business in the ring.

Dude the fight was a mismatch. Whether in went 4 or 15 Ortiz was taking a beating. This. People talking about how "good" Ortiz was doing, and how "it was starting to get interesting". I just don't get it. We must have watched a different set of rounds.

Guerrero is clearly more skilled, mentally stronger than Ortiz. I think he'll put on a better fight.

Yes, Guerrero is a better boxer than Ortiz, much better mentally conditioned and stable. His style will cause more problems for Floyd than Ortiz..not saying that Guerrero is a better fighter than Ortiz, just that styles make fights.

One can always be wrong when it comes to predicting how good fights will be. (Who the hell expected Bradley vs. Provodnikov to be Fight of the Year material?) But Mayweather vs. Guerrero sure looks like a damn joke on the surface.

Ortiz got outclassed for 3 rounds and knocked out in the 4th for being a *****. I expect Guerrero to do way better than that.

I hear you, although I'd say Ortiz was not backing down from Mayweather. He kept coming. Whenever Ortiz was able to move forward and keep Mayweather from pushing him back, he had some luck. Til this day I still feel cheated that fight ended in 4. It was getting interesting and if Ortiz could have kept from being broke down mentally and fight like he fought Ortiz, it would have been a VERY interesting fight because Floyd would have had to respect his power. It wouldn't have been an interesting fight as the fact that Ortiz broke down mentally indicated that he was unable to adapt. What Mayweather said about things being different in the ring that out on TV rings true to what happened in that fight.

no, not at all. floyd dominates them both easily technique and skill-wise but at least ortiz have the power to make floyd think twice. guerrero has nothing on floyd. you can say guerrero is not a mental midget like ortiz but it doesn't mean anything because one of the things that floyd excels is his mental game.
