Right after Geale beat Mundine Macklin was on Twitter saying he wanted to fight Geale next. If Geale had said 'okay lets make it happen' then April/May is the earliest it would have happened with June/July being more likely. Funny how Macklin didn't need a tune up fight for a Geale title shot but when he's offered one against Golovkin to take place around the same time he's not ready all of a sudden.
When did I imply that? Where? I specifically said "if" to turn that hypothetical argument you brought up against you. I never said Dibella controlled Macklin. You did.
Yes, of course I thought Lou wouldn't prefer it, but how does that disprove what I was arguing? The point I was making that Dibella was not controlling Macklin and that Macklin wanted the fight despite Lou's wishes and so it happened. (and thus further proof that he wasn't ducking Golovkin)
Macklin had a chance to fight to fight Chavez, the biggest name in the middleweigth division and propably top 5 in the entire sport, and Macklin said no. Even if it was at a 164 catchweight, do you think that "bum" chavez who lost 11.5 rounds is a more difficult fight than Golovkin?
I see, it was a hypothetical, based on the questionable premise that his promoter did not want that fight for him at the time. I don't know why he was compelled to "defend" his choice in the press then.
Anyway, lets call peace. I'll keep Macklin out of my GGG duck posts now that's signed, obviously. I fully understand his predicament, but it's the nature of the sport.
You implied Lou had something to do with his passing last year

and just now wondered why the hell would Lou wanna match his fighter at all with GGG.

Okay, maybe Dan_Cov is still doing it, but he's a fag. I haven't really seen anyone else do it. I remember the Cult was giving Donaire respect with the announcement without he underhandness. Until the testing issue came up, at least.
I didn't give you that argument. You brought it up. I just threw it back to you.
Anyway, I'm out.
You implied Lou had something to do with his passing last year (among a slew of other excuses you prepared), and just now wondered why the hell would Lou wanna match his fighter at all with GGG. Well, GGG's penciled in to headline via HBO on an LDB show, and Lou has a top contender whose long set plans for early summer date with Chavez just fell through.
No they didn't, Norigo Duckiare is still in full effect.

Don't need to give me disingenuous arguments about promoters stopping the fight from happening etc.

Macklin accepted the Golovkin fight HALF a year after Golovkin made his US debut. And unlike Rigo, Golovkin had zero top 10 wins on his resume in September when you guys were screaming duck. And I still stand by that the regular belt Golovkin had in September meant squat. Also, now that Macklin accepted, you guys are still bitching. Even the Cult stopped calling Donaire a duck after he accepted.

Come on man, at this point I'm not pissing on Macklin, I'm arguing with you. Why the dog and pony show? You, Ray*, and Macklin all have a pretty good idea what happens fight night, hence his obvious reluctance. Don't need to give me disingenuous arguments about promoters stopping the fight from happening etc.
It's not worse, GTFO. Donaire is p4p and a 4 division champ. Macklin is a guy still looking for his 1st belt, getting an offer from a titlist.

Macklin accepts a Golovkin fight just half a year after Golovkin's US debut, and people still aren't satisfied. This is worst than the Donaire ducking Rigo crap.

When did macklin turn chavez down?

What reason was there to avoid fighting Golovkin in Sept? There is none
Everyone deserves a gimme fight after

You're a sadistic fuck if you think people should risk their careers coming off brutal losses like that just so you could be entertained for 45 minutes. This is real life, not a video game.
We dont know but there is a tiny chance that sturm fights GOlovkin sometime, so does that mean he didnt duck him by paying of the WBA?
Unlike, Sturm, Macklin was not his mandatory for two years and literally payed off the WBA to avoid the fight. Macklin had no legal obligation to fight Golovkin as a mandatory as Sturm had. Another example, Hopkins only took the Dawson fight until he really had to because he was cornered as a mandatory.
The guy is a top ranked fighter who has fought 1 round in 15 months. What should he do, purposefully take a scrub and avoid this fight again?
If Macklin took the tuneup and then fought Golovkin in November instead, he'd have an excellent year. Better than 99% of fighters can claim. It's not like the Golovkin fight still wouldn't be there.
What obligation did GOlovkin have to take this fight?
Golovkin is the one desperate for a name opponent, not Macklin. He has more options available for him that he could eventually get to without risking another loss before then. The Murray/Barker/Lee/Macklin fights would be huge fights in the UK. And he could have even taken the Chavez fight.
Macklin accepts a Golovkin fight just half a year after Golovkin's US debut, and people still aren't satisfied. This is worst than the Donaire ducking Rigo crap.
So if he only does what his promoter wants, then it was never his decision to not fight Golovkin. How could he be ducking when he could only do what his promoter wants?
Yeah, and I'm sure it was Lou "Who would give a flying **** about Golovkin?" Dibella who forced Macklin into take it.
Earlier this week LA 2 Vegas speculated they were setting up GGG with Tommy, since both have HBO dates in june. I correctly predicted Tommy would be on GGG's undercard, on a show copromoted with LDB. What good is a middleweight contender in your stable if you can't put him as headliner on your own show?
Fanboys would alway be fanboys, can't wait for the next GGG to come along, Maybe that new version of GGG would be "Ducked" after only one month, he can then join the list of Adrian Diaconu, D. Pirog and GGG. " Dey ducking doe"
Macklin is not Floyd, he fights who his promoter tells him to, he can only pass so many times. The pressure came from above. I'm gonna stop sniping at him as of now, unless it falls through.

Another person still living in denial! Macklin turns down Chavez, takes the Golovkin fight, and he was still ducking!
When did macklin turn chavez down?
If you used to believe he was ducking before, fine. But the mere fact that he accepted it now gives credence to the reasons why he didn't take the fight the last two times, and they weren't just BS excuses to avoid Golovkin. What reason was there to avoid fighting Golovkin in Sept? There is none If he was actually avoiding Golovkin, he wouldn't be taking this fight at all, ever. Had had zero obligation to take this fight right now. It's not like he's Golovkin's mandatory. He didn't have to risk getting another L on his record , yet he did.
By that logic, we have to wait until a fighter retires to consider it a duck. He declines the fight 2X, then releases tweets saying how he doesnt want to fight GOlovkin in June yet was chasing fights with Chavez and Gaele during the same time frame. Its completely justified to come to the conclusion that he was avoiding Golovkin, its not hard to to think that. He literally said no to him already and took an easy cheap fight a week later

He accepted it, and you still bitch in an underhanded way! Let it go, man. You were wrong. He wasn't ducking him. End of story.

All I had to go by is his words.
If you had your suspicions before, fine. But he accepted it now, which makes your suspicions and conjectures moot. No no need to complement the man while being underhanded about it.

They're getting down in June. Some of you boxing fans are quite fuggin annoying.
Some of these 6 months GGG fans are spoiling it for a lot of people who actually like him. They bi*tch and whine like fvcking puzzies.
