In British Columbia Canada there is a heated debate by a group that are now connected to the WBC, and their president indicated that Canadian amateur boxer registered under
Boxing Canada, the coaches and officials would have difficulties changing with the
the new scoring system, lack of head gear etc. In my opinion, this is just
a form of trouble making by a group that would like to be the top dog in
amateur boxing. So, the question is" What should we expect or hope for
for the future of Provincial and Canadian amateur boxing? And, is having
more than one provincial group best for British Columbia and Ontario is
one unified group the best for the future?
I've been in your club a few times years ago. Sparred there. It's at the end of Howard Avenue isn't it? I think your name is Bruce or Brian.. some name beginning with "B".
If your talking about the Nanaimo Boxing Club, the head coach for a number of years
first name is BARRY. I'm Brian, and one of the co-founders of the club in 1971. Over the years they have moved into about four locations in Nanaimo. The Victoria Athletic Association was a change from the old London Boxing Club, and for that I was one of
the coaches and one of the founding directors on August 31st., 1976. The last boxing hosted by the London boxing was in June 1976 when a BC junior selects vs English school boy boxers from the Liverpool - Manchester area came to Canada to tour across the country with Victoria and Vancouver being the two BC sites.

The WBC should stay out of amateur boxing. (It would be nice if they stayed out of pro boxing too but that's another story...)
Thanks, they the WBC do have a twisted history but that is for another thread elsewhere.
