I read on here that Rios v.s. Alvarado rubber match would happen but not next. So, Rios can move up, or Provo move down, maybe catch weight. either way slugfest for the ages.
I don't know if Provodnikov's chin's as good as Rios's, but all he'd need to do is use decent lateral movement and keep turning Rios so he can't plant his feet inside (preventing him from unleashing with the uppercuts). If Ruslan could do that, he'd win an UD or get robbed by judges who don't know sh*t about boxing (ala Abril)..
Hard to predict.
Rios proved to have an impressive chin, while Provodnikov was hurting Bradley with every punch he landed.
He though wasn't considered such a K.O. artist before fighting Bradley. Was he so powerful at 147 because he was starving himself to make 140, or was Bradley paying the price for balooning up to 175 or so in between fights?.
It'd surely be fun to watch as long as it lasts.
My only issue with this fight is Rios' healt. I don't like him as a fighter, but as a human being I'm concerned for him. How much damage can a man absorb before getting some serious brain damage?.
Is that so? They should get with the times. It allows for more flexibility. See Rigo, the guy doesn't want to cut weight, but is way too small to go to feather.
That guy Lomachenko, great talent, but I think this might be his downfall. He'll start out in a division he's already too small for.
What are you gonna do people are who they are.
He is Russian. Russians consider weight cutting not manly.

Still doesn't mean it's not hard for him to cut down to 139.9
True, some guys drop weight easier. He's pretty chunky as is. Still most guys can shed 10lbs no problem, if motivated.
They sure said that, but supposedly he was 150 fight night, which is not much for a 140er, and tiny for welter

Anybody else miss the part were Provo said he had trouble making 140?

Rios would win...There is nothing in Ruslans resume that would indicate that he's better than Rios...He's just your typical "unknown" fighter that everyone obsessively nuthuggs along with GGG and Matthyse....like it's the cool thing to do or something when some guy comes out of the blue.
Don't get me wrong I like Ruslan but what has he done besides trick Bradley into getting into a brawl with him to indicate he would beat Rios?? Yea he's bigger but still.
Rios or Alvarado would stop him in 10
Both Matthysse and especially GGG are way better than Prov. It's not like Prov is a total unknown, he's been on FNF a bunch and never looked that great.

Brandan is a fat boy he can move up. Or catch weight, either way i wan't to see this.
if it happens provo moves down he was at 140 the fight before, and a perfect fight for rios, right in his face to tagg. but a big risk also.
I think I'd favor Provodnikov. It's not a bad matchup for Rios in that Ruslan is obviously not going to box his ears off, but I think Ruslan has decent enough skills combined with heavy enough hands that he could stop Rios. It's not like Rios will be able to start boxing and moving to survive.
