Simple question. With a press conference scheduled for midday (UK): who do you think David Haye will be fighting in late June / early July?
Poll added.
I doubt Hayes comeback opponent can be any worse than the bums Klits handpick
Funny to say this as it was Haye's best win ;)
Jovo is the worse than any opponent Wlad fought in the last 10 years.
Luis Ortiz is good, so Haye won't fight him.
Jovo Pudar has three losses and was retired for six years after losing every round to an up-and-coming Sam Peter in 2004. He the right age for Haye at 41. He has poor skills but a good chin.
Wawrzyk is possible, he has decent skills but a poor chin and is a weak puncher.
Richard Towers is perfect, he's a bona fide all-round bum who needed a shady referee to beat Tony Gregory (who Helenius and Perez easily stopped).
Ortiz may be good but it's tough to say how he stacks up since he has never beaten a legitimate opponent. His resume is only slightly better than Wilder's (who is also undefeated and ranked by the WBA)
I think that Towers is the likely choice, being that he is British he won't require any extra compensation to travel.
''Adam Booth, Haye's trainer, said there was not an opponent confirmed but that talks were ongoing with five heavyweights “ranked in the top 15 with four of them unbeaten”.
Probably applying the wrong logic....but the unbeaten fighters in WBC's top 15 :
Fury, Pulev, Abdusalamov, Ortiz, Wawrzyk
Yeah you are applying the wrong logic as Haye has always been a slave to the WBA since becoming a HW.
4 undefeated fighters ranked in the WBA top-15 that Haye is most likely to fight are Luis Ortiz, Jovo Pudar, Andrzej Wawrzyk and fellow Brit Richard Towers.
I can virtually guarantee, based off his track record, that he will fight one of the above listed jokers.

How about Haye worry about fighting other top fighters instead of trying to do the least amount necessary to get a big paycheck.
The easy road has been pretty good to Haye so far. Not at all a fan of the guy but he got a title shot off of knocking out Audley Harrison and John Ruiz. Why take hard fights when getting fat off of old timers is apparently all it takes these days? At least Charr isn't roughly a decade away from qualifying for AARP.
And in the previous interview he's retiring soon.
But yeah, i'd be surprised if Vitali is still fighting 1 year from now.

Haye is stupid if he thinks Vitali is sticking around for that long.
He told the BBC Ukrainian Service: "If David wants to fight, he has to wait because I have to defend my title against an official contender. After that maybe.
"If David Haye has high position on the world rankings, we can fight each other but it will not be soon. The fight against David Haye is not everything for me."

He said that he wants to lock himself into position as a mandatory challenger by beating two top ten heavyweights, Charr is at number 8 in the WBC? So if Haye is aiming at Vitali then Charr seems like the likely choice.

It's just been confirmed by both parties that a rematch with price will take place on July 6th.
Hmm....
If it is indeed a done deal then it's more interesting. Adamek, Charr and Helenius would be the obvious names in that case....would love it to be Povetkin but I don't think he will be interested in a tough fight before he finally mans up and takes the gaurenteed L that's coming his way against Wlad.
Thompson, I believe.
Ranked high, fought for world titles, coming off a big win over Price which makes it easy to sell...
I'd prefer Helenius or Adamek though.

adamek is my choice...36 & on the decline, big event payday rather it's in england or poland, adamek left main events & says he he had a big fight option in poland. he said he wasn't going to get paid fighting pulev & beating haye would be huge for adamek...it makes sense to me but there have been others saying pudar or povetkin. who knows until he announces it today. pudar is ranked by one of the bodies for some reason. he held the PABA regional belt then beat zumbrano & nascimento but has vacated it since. is haye announcing the event today or is he announcing both his comeback & opponent? if it was a contender like povetkin or adamek they would both be at the press conference. so if he is naming an opponent today i have a feeling we all could be disappointed...

It surelly will not be Vitali, Helenius, Pulev and Fury.
The Povetkin fight is very unlikely for the restrictions the WBA would impose.
J. Banks is a possibility.
Pudar, Charr are poor matchups, but it seems there is a high probability one of these will happen.
Adamek is the best matchup, best moneymaker and fan friendly option, available to be made without any restrictions, but it's a tough fight and one Haye will have to work hard to win. Haye's history shows he likes to walk the safe path.
At last, there is a slim chance for a fight with Arreola, should he win against Stiverne.
