I think he was rooting for Tim way too much. There was times he would say both guys are badly hurt and Tim is the one out on his feet. Max would say Tim had no answer for Ruslans right hand, he responded with saying yeah he does, he has his own right hand. Towards the end of the fight Roy is like Ruslan can't hurt Tim anymore and Max is like Tim gets hit one more time and he's in trouble. And that's exactly what happened. There was other lil things during the fight that i cant remember at the moment. I just feel like Roy called the fight as a Bradley fan instead of a professional commentator. What do you guys think?????

Kinda balanced out Kellerman's riding Provodnikov.
That's what's up if he did. I didn't get a chance to listen but thanks for letting me know. After the fight he kinda tried to act like he was more responsible for shots Ruslan got off then Ruslan himself.
I think he was saying that for his trainer's sake. Timmy didn't fight a stupid fight. Ruslan was on his ASS and he had to fight that way to win the rounds he won. Timmy said that his trainer was yelling at him and everything but he's the one in the ring and a lot of the time he does his own thing. I applaud him for the way he fought and I can't see him winning rounds against P'kov any other way. What he NEEDED to do is circle as much as he could from P'kovs right hand but eventually you get a little dizzy from it.
I hope you listened to the boxingscene interview with Tim today. He says the exact opposite, that he wasn't fighting lazy or anything, but rather that Ruslan timed him expertly with the kind of punch Marquez caught Pacquiao with. He gives a lot of credit to Provodnikov.

I think Ruslan deserves credit for bringing it to Tim the way he did too. Tim tries to make it seem like he just stood there let Ruslan do that to him. That's not 100% true.

It was also the kind of fight that Bradley wanted. He wanted very badly to box in a way that showed fight fans he was worth watching. He's had very bad fan response towards his usual style. he needed to change that. Naturally he didn't want to be Ko'd, but he needed this kind of fight for his future money expectations.
I believe he pointed this out in an interview sometime after the fight. So I read.

Some fighters never retreat no matter how much they are hurt. It doesn't mean too much. A lot of fighters smile and act like they aint hurt when they are too. How many times did Ruslan smile at Bradley when he got tagged? To me that in itself showed his punches had some effect. Like I said in my first post, Roy just evened out the bias.
We are gonna have to agree to disagree :fing02:
Nothing wrong with disagreeing. It's cool. I will agree that many fighters front when they are hurt by smiling or tapping their chins but I think Ruslan was definitely getting tagged hard but not Really hurt until the body shot. Tim's power isn't devastating so the blows up top bruised and busted Ruslan up but never really hurt him. Anyway I just stole that pic of Khan you have as your sig. It's too funny. My boy Danny cracked that fool.
Yeah man, he'll say some off the wall ****, and the rest of the guys are silent for a second before having to step up and argue with such a silly statement.
Example; when Bradley and Provodnikov were in there banging and Bradley was getting hurt, Roy said something along the lines of "this kind of fight that's perfect for Bradley"
Not it wasn't, Roy. It was the ****ing opposite. It was exactly the kind of fight Provodnikov wanted.

I reminded you that because Roy was trying to say that they are both hurt when Tim was the one being held up by the ring ropes. IMO Ruslan was never hurt except for that hook to the body. Bradley landed bombs but that's the only one that stuck out to me. Hurt meaning the fighter retreated, held or something like that.

Since you ask, I didn't see the fight yet, can't find it on Youtube. But if they were both in enthusiastic agreement, there would be little worth listening to. A controversy between them is what keeps people listening. I believe that they create such a scenario on purpose.
I know that top announcers and commentators used to deliberately make sure that the onlooker or listener got to see and know something that the commentator didn't. It made the listener feel more clever, and more inclined to switch on. I don't know if they still do it, but it's a strong psychological tool.
Yeah I get u bro but it was so obvious Roy was on Tim's sack while Max was just calling what he saw.
Why the hell are you telling me Tim was out on his feet? You think I don't know that? Everyone who saw the fight knows that and it was pointed out by the commentary team many times.
If you think Provodnikov was only hurt once in the whole fight then you are more biased than the guy you are trying to criticize. Roy was definitely pro Bradley but that don't change the fact he made good observations that the rest of the team would have totally ignored because they are pro Roach fighters.

Not true. Tim was out on his feet a few times bro. IMO the only time Ruslan was really hurt was when he got hit with a wicked left hook to the body. And Max pointed out that Ruslan lowered his right elbow to cover it up from further punishment.

Roy just evening things out a bit. HBO are usually very biased in favour of Roach's fighters. And he wasn't exactly wrong either. Bradley did hurt Provodnikov a few times, just because the Russian kept smiling and poking his tongue out as he plodded forward doesn't change that fact. Bradley stopped him in his tracks a few times and hurt him to the body. If Roy hadn't have pointed it out nothing would have been said about it at all.

I found it funny how Max in the later rounds would say it seems like every punch would seem to be hurting Bradley, only to have Roy disagree that he wasn't because he was hitting on the top of the head and not the chin. Then Provodnikov would jab him and Bradley's head and body would bobble around.

It's kinda disrespectful to the fighter when he can't pronounce their name. I believe it was towards the end where he was talking about Provodnikov and he kinda mumbled the first part of his name "Provok....whatever his name is." It took me less than a minute to correctly pronounce his name which is rather easy, Pro-vod-ni-kov, but a guy who is calling his fight doesn't know how? He did the same thing with Nishioka too but that one is understandable to some extent. I guess he just has a hard time pronouncing foreign names.
Yeah he was a real d!ck for that one. That was after Max did the post fight interviews and he and Jim were giving their final thoughts on the fight. Couldn't even get the mans name right Smfh very disrespectful to just be like whatever his name is.
Yep, and Roy pulled some complete nonsense out of his ass.
Roy is okay, but I like Tarver, Malignaggi, and Segrio Mora better.
Lol I like Malignaggi, maybe being a bit biased for my fellow new yorker but I think he is a natural.
