To all the British boxing fans - This card is being shown on British Eurosport (I believe this is a free channel)
Uensal Arik vs Francis Cheka
Odlanier Solis vs Leif Larsen
Goran Delic vs TBA
Ruslan Chagaev vs Mike Sheppard
Uensal Arik vs Francis Cheka looks interesting on paper, not seen much of either guy but Arik lost his first pro fight hes knocked 17/17 out since, Cheka seems durable and has been in with good company; Matthew Macklin, Paul Smith, Robert Stieglitz
We all know Solis I'm sure he fights a Norwegian tank. I read on here this guys quite the athlete & holds some shot-put record, can run the 100m in near olympic time, an American football stand out etc he took up boxing at the age of 27 & is currently 17-0 with 14 K.Os
It was a stupid move because he lost his '0' he got injured even more, his stock fell and he has only had 2 fights in nearly 3 years. He won't be getting another crack at a world title anytime soon either based on tonights performance.
Solis was moving forward, he moved back when the punch hit him. It maybe not of hit him flush on the temple but a glancing shot to the temple can be just as effective if not more so.
Damn seeing that footage again makes me cringe look at he's knee blowout the second he jumps in even tho that punch obviously didnt do jack sh*t just look at he's left leg how it buckles out when he jumps in even before the punch still he deserved to get that ko hes fault for being a lard ass he's legs gave out.
Here are some quotes from the commentators as they watch the Solis-Vitali ending:
Jim Watt: "as soon as the punch landed, I spotted it, I knew it was a hurtful punch, I didn't know it was a finisher" - Jim Watt
Fellow Commentator: "Down he went and he hurt his leg in the process".
Jim Watt: "Look at the legs: as soon as the punch landed, the left leg straightened out; it just took everything away from him".
I was going to add more, but it's so blatantly obvious the punch caused his legs to go wobbly that the only people who would deny it are Klitschko haters or Solis fans, and neither of them are likely to change their views, regardless of the evidence.
Makes me wonder, what are the chances of us getting Chagaev vs Solis next? Chagaev seems to be having weight issues too weighing in close to 250 for his last few fights :nonono:
Lol Im telling you, these Heavyweights are taking the Heavy in Heavyweight literally.
Check your PM's.

They didn't show that fight but Chagaev K.O'd Sheppard in 1.
I was quite looking forward to seeing this Uensal Arik guy in action too but they didn't show that either
He won though and made it 18 stoppages in a row ending Francis Cheka's 13 fight win streak.
Well that's a shame... that they didn't show it. Im gonna forward you something when I get on my computer.

Was it really his own stupidity or was it smart? It was either pull out and not get paid or go in there injured and get an easy pay without taking punishment?
And the punch wasn't flush on the temple either. Solis was moving back to avoid the punch with all his weight on that back leg. So as someone pointed out chances were that knee was gonna go out regardless. Especially since it was pre injured.

He doesnt care about his 0 and stock. He only wants to get some paydays and get out. He was never serious about boxing.

Up until his knee blew out he was giving Vitali the toughest fight since Lewis IMO. Solis was catching Vitali with clean shots. If he drops down to the 230's I want to see a rematch of that fight. It would of been interesting.

"Until he hurt his knee" How come people neglect to mention that Solis's knee went after he got blasted by a punch and his legs turned to noodles. It blew out cuz he got dropped and he had no control of his body when he went down ...and being a fatass. They fought 1 round and Vitali won it 10-8 and knocked him out.
I guess you didn't read the rest of my posts. Had his knee not been injured he wouldnt had gone down therefore it wouldnt had been no 10-8 round. The punch GRAZED... You guys are making it sound like the punch was some type of monster punch like Bailey's uppercut on Jones or some crap.
This is pointless to be talking about a anyway. There wont be no rematch and Solis ain't going nowhere either way. He fell victim to the system. He cant handle all this freedom.

Vitali landed 0? What about the right hand to his temple which caused his knee to blow out? He probably outlanded Solis tbf who fought just like Johnson did but probably more negative & Johnson actually went the distance & won a round.
His own stupidity for going into the fight injured then.
Vitali practically ended Solis's career. Hes depressed, fat and looked awful ever since.
He looked rubbish tonight, looked awful against Airich who is nothing but a journeyman.
Hes done, I'm sorry but the guys a waste of talent. Hes just Eddie Chambers without the dedication.

I agree
I don't know what everyone was watching but that was clearly a 120-108 fight. Solis looked great throughout. He got a bit tired at the end, but he was making Larsen miss badly. He made Larsen look like a completely bum. I just hope he stays more active.
Give him another fight in like 2-3 months against someone like Boytsov.
Come on this is biased. Larsen didn't have an amateur career, hes only had 17 fights against low level opposition, his technique is awful and he didn't start boxing until he was 27.
This guy doesn't belong in the same ring as an olympic gold medalist. He should not under any circumstances come close to winning a round or even going past 6!
Solis has no dedication, if he did he'd be in shape and fighting at cruiser where he belongs.

Seriously? I've had Solis winning every round. Larsen's punches have been all smothered and blocked. Solis has slown the workrate down but he's potshotting him to hell. This fight isn't close whatsoever.

I saw that fight again the other day, Vitali's punch had no effect. Solis twisted his knee and then Vitali's punch slightly touched the top of his head, he was going down and the fight was over, with or without Vitali throwing that shot.
Solis was not beating Vitali at all! Even if Solis had got up it would of still been a 10-8 round.
If its any compliment, fine he was winning for around the first 2 minutes of the first round before he got caught with a counter right hand which made his knee blow out and forced him to be stopped.
Seriously he landed like two punches lol

He went in there already injured and reaggrevated it in the fight. Those idiots saying it was from the impact of Vitali's punch dunno sh1t.
