Mayweather came out swinging regarding Canelo's remarks.
He said tell Canelo to do his own ppv if he thinks he's all that.'How can I let a 22 yr old kid who just got into the sport of boxing to give me an ultimatum?I'm not even thinking of entertaining the demands of someone who has never headlined a ppv.No fighter is ever going to give me an ultimatum.'
I made him famous so how can he give me an ultimatum. When I was his age I was a champion too.Where is he at compared to where I was at,pull up the records.I don't remember everyone I fought by then but I fought Henanderz and Manfred when Manfred had just beaten Arturo Gatti.I fought good solid competition.I'm not saying he's not a good fighter...'
Much more from the place where fights are hyped.
lol, sure kid, Canelo gets all the credit when GBP chooses Trout, but GBP gets all the blame when he fights Josesito. You're a phucking idiot.Hey Pinhead, Canelo only gets credit if he is willing to fight the best and he is not only willing, he is fighting Trout! You don't know SHIT about how the Business of Boxing works and who pulls the strings on a fighter's career. You are dismissed. GO.

Clueless child, a fighter can back out of a fight if he does not feel comfortable about the opponent and he can also get sued by his promoter if he does that because it is in the contract who picks the opponent, the site, and many other details, or both sides can part ways. But get it through your head, Promoters pick the opponent! And did it occur to you that all Floyd had to do was follow-up with his agreement to fight Canelo?????? Canelo wants to fight Floyd, Floyd backed out of signing for a September fight. He is either leary of Canelo or too much of a Prima Donna to commit. Get it? Got it? GOOD! Now go back to the Bleeding Hearts Club for Diva Floyd and leave Boxing for those who know the simplest things like WHO CHOOSES THE OPPONENT!
Sure, according to Canelo's camp, which you're assuming is the end all be all of truth. lmao. And just because they don't have a signed agreement now for Sept means there's no chance they'll be fighting in Sept? Dude, the card is NON-EXISTENT so how the hell would you even start mouthing off about it now. And I'm the one who has no clue about the business of boxing. SMH.
And again, having to use Kirkland as evidence that Canelo's willing to fight 'the best.' Bwahahahah. And yes, to great lengths GBP and the WBC have protected Canelo. But then since you're arguing the promoter bears all the blame, they should take all the credit as well - So Canelo really isn't all that brave since GBP and not Canelo chose Trout as his opponent huh? You make no sense kid.Clueless child, a fighter can back out of a fight if he does not feel comfortable about the opponent and he can also get sued by his promoter if he does that because it is in the contract who picks the opponent, the site, and many other details, or both sides can part ways. First off, Floyd backed out of signing a September fight. Get that through your head. As to Canelo, You have no clue about the business of Boxing. Do I have to bring a Promoter on here to show you that it is the PROMOTOR, not the Boxer who BY CONTRACT determines the opponent???? Canelo has been calling for a fight with Floyd, PWill, Kirkland, and now is fighting Trout. ANYONE who has an understanding of the business knows that the Promoter choses the opponent, site, and other details. Only guys like Floyd and Vitali get to chose who they fight. Why do you think EVERY fighter says that they will fight who their promoter picks??? Because it is true!!! That is how Boxing business works! Who do you think puts the financial risk up????? Hint! It is not the fighter!
LOL, Canelo's been willing to fight the best? Are you joking? Whatever suggested that? His stellar hit list of WW's and JWW's? James Kirkland? .First off, Floyd backed out of signing a September fight. Get that through your head. As to Canelo, You have no clue about the business of Boxing. Mayweather is talking shlt about everyone trying to boost his crappy PPV fights of fighting nobodies for his lame ass showtime deal. :WORD:
Hes isnt gonna back anything up. As usual! No DLH reamtch, No Marg No Prime Cotto No Manny, No prime Shane! excuses excuses is all he has.
says the guy who said Guerrero will beat FLoyd and Floyd will never take that fight
You know, I appreciate Floyd Mayweather's skills and the fact that he's willing to fight for a living cause that has to take some balls. But I don't know where this dude gets off. He put himself on a pedestal and I honestly believe that he thinks he's God's gift to mankind, earth, and boxing. I don't why he thinks that, his fights aren't the most appealing, he isn't the most likeable guy, and he doesn't fight all the guys the fans call for him to fight. I mean he's just a pretentious, obnoxious, and out right annoying douchebag. In my opinion.
Exactly, why would Floyd or his people admit they backed out? What we do know is this. Canelo's people as well as Sheafer acknowledged in the ESPN article that Floyd's people agreed to a September fight and even gave Canelo's people parameters of the deal and how much money they would expect.
When it came time to put pen to paper Floyd backed off.
If there wasn't any type of agreement then why wasn't Floyd-Ghost announced back in January? Everyone knew it was going to happen. It was the Canelo negotiation that was holding it up. If Floyd wasn't going to agree to fight Canelo why didn't they just tell them to F off and move on a long time ago? Fact is that Floyd tried to play Canelo for a fool because they wanted, some would say needed, him on the Cinco de Mayo card.
I will tell you this now, Floyd/Guerrero will do Mayweather's worst PPV numbers since the Ricky Hatton fight.
Floyd/Guerrerro wasn't announced in January partly because Mayweather was negotiating with HBO and Showtime for the long-term contract that he signed with Showtime. They waited until after he had an agreement with a network to announce the fight and there is nothing wrong with that. It had nothing to do with Alvarez. According to what has been reported, Floyd told Alvarez that he would be willing to fight Canelo in September if Alvarez won. No contracts were signed. It was a verbal agreement and Canelo, thinking he is much higher on the totem pole than he actually, is started making demands.
A front line factory worker does not make demands to the CEO of the company. In terms of prestige and power in boxing, Mayweather is the CEO and Alvarez is the front-line factory worker. Guerrerro will make more money fighting Mayweather as the opponent than Alvarez will make fighting Trout as the main attraction in their fight. If Alvarez was the star that he thinks he is, his fight with Trout would have been moved to June and placed on PPV. However, Schafer knows that Alvarez is not a PPV draw. Unfortunately, Alvarez does not realize that.
Whether you or anyone else likes what Floyd said, he is speaking the truth. Just as Oscar De La Hoya dictated the terms of all of his fights because he was the star, Floyd dictates the terms of his fights, not the other way around. If Alvarez beats Trout, he could end up fighting Cotto in a PPV later this year. If that does happen, the fight will sell a maximum of 400,000 PPVs and the majority of those will be due to Cotto. Mayweather will double that against whoever he may face in his next fight.
As far as Mayweather/Guerrerro doing the worst PPV numbers since Mayweather/Hatton, Mayweather/Hatton sold 925,000 PPVs. That is more than Pacquaio has sold in his last four fights and more than Alvarez would sell in any PPV fight that did not involve Mayweather.
His post was a joke to simply turn the tables of what Floyd said. Do I really need to explain that? Floyd joked about his complexion and facial features. :pat:
So if i'm going to get dragged into this, i'm going to defend myself. I thought it was pretty straight forward what I was doing, but it seems some folks get sensitive. Imagine how ginger people feel about his comments? Pretty similar I would guess.
OK, so Floyd does have hair at times, http://www.thedailymocha.com/wp-content/themes/TDM/timthumb.php?src=http://www.thedailymocha.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/floyd-mayweather-weight-loss.jpg&a=t&w=572&h=342
Dont try and paint me as racist as that shoe doesnt fit my friend.
why the hell are you guys even defending yourselves against ignorant people? the post was funny. Floyd made fun of Canelo's complexion and looks. If Canelo would've made fun of Mayweather all hell would've broken loose.
Imagine if Canelo called Floyd a "nappy haired flat nosed ducker" or a "kinky haired big lipped guy" the kick off would be almighty
:lol1: :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:
LOL, Canelo's been willing to fight the best? Are you joking? Whatever suggested that? His stellar hit list of WW's and JWW's? James Kirkland? The dude who got blasted by Ishida, nearly one rounded by Angulo, and pretty much outboxed by Molina? Wow, don't be raising those standards too high.
It's like the mental midgets can't make up their minds. Floyd fights once a year, they cry he should fight more. So he decides to stay active, takes stay busy fights like Ghost, and suddenly he should retire? And whoever said he isn't fight Canelo in Sept? Hell, the May 4 card isn't even finalized yet and people are crying about a completely non-existent Sept card. SMH.
Canelo is a big money fight, easily the biggest money fight out there aside from Pac. But I wasn't addressing that, I was pointing out the opponents you named that Floyd "wouldn't" fight. Kirkland? Trout? These are big money fights? Why would he fight them? Trout could fit his fanbase in a Fiat 500 and still have room for groceries. Floyd isn't a full-time JMW, why would either of these guys be on his radar? You'd have an argument with Pwill since Paul actually fought at 147 but you'd need a time machine to travel back to 2008. When Canelo agreed to fight Pwill last year, Paul had been fighting at 154 (or above) for like 4 years. QUOTE]. I wasn't talking about Floyd vs Kirkland. I said Canelo has been willing to fight THE best and Floyd has not. And Trout is a threat to Floyd, money or not. He and Pac aren't fighting, Marquez is not appealing so who is left???? That means Floyd is left with almost no options at 147 so he should be fighting Canelo, Trout, Pac, Martinez, or retiring if he's going to fight the Guererro's of the world instead.

And like I said, lmao at 'praising' Canelo for *finally* fighting Trout. It's like, yeah, let's clap for the guy for doing what he SHOULD have done years ago. And trying to sh1t on Floyd for allegedly 'not' fighting guys that Canelo's willing to fight, I mean, really? Like I said Floyd's a part-time JMW and his whopping resume of 2 opponents (DLH & Cotto) STILL craps all over Canelo's current resume, and this is the WBC 154 champ we're talking about here. Sad. Just Sad.
So lets see, Canelo is willing to fight Williams, Kirkland, Floyd, and Trout is is scheduled to fight Trout. And Trout is willing to take on Canelo and will, and Floyd was not willing to fight Trout or Canelo or Williams or Canelo. I sure as hell give more praise to Canelo over Floyd for not only willing to fight guys Floyd wouldn't, but is doing so next month.
Since when was Canelo not a big money fight???? Floyd vs Canelo is the highest PPV potential this side of a Pac fight and higher than Guerrero! Canelo is fighting a guy who gave Cotto a tougher fight than Mayweather did and on top of that, Canelo was willing to sign to fight Mayweather on September, Floyd declined. Floyd doesn't need to be a full time 154 pounder, he has fought there and can fight there. Canelo is the one stepping up to the greater risk, not Floyd.

The problem is Saul's belt was basically given to him and he doesn't call the shots. I don't like Mayweather but he doesn't need Alverez. The same can't be said the other way around.
so tell me how Floyd got his belt from gatti.

The problem is that Canelo hasn't fought anybody yet.No the problem is Canello is WILLING to fight Trout and Floyd and Floyd has shown no interest in fighting Canelo or Trout. On top of that, Canelo is FIGHTING Trout, a guy who just dominated Cotto.
Floyd's not a full-time JMW, whatever gave you the idea that he was? He's only stepped up to 154 when it's a big money fight.Since when was Canelo not a big money fight???? The problem is that Canelo hasn't fought anybody yet. He hasn't fought Trout yet so I can't give him praise for that but will praise him for taking the fight. He can be as willing as he wants to fight but if it doesn't happens it doesn't mean anything.
He hasn't denied it. He would have said "I never agreed". Canelo would not have given him the ultimatum if there was no agreement made for them to fight in September. Floyd don't take ultimatums. He didn't say "I never agreed", he said "I don't take ultimatums". Pretty obvious.

Canelo on the other hand finally fights a legit 154 opponent and suddenly he deserves praise.
lmao.
The sad thing is Floyd's resume at 154 (consisting of just 2 opponents) STILL sh1ts all over Canelo's current resume. That's just laughable.
