What are the chances Flopyd goes toe to toe With Guerrero as he said he would? Is he just talking smack trying to get Guerrero to prepare for a toe to toe fight?
If you mean Lampley throwing off his gay ass glasses, and beating himself off talking about "OMG! BLOOD AND GUTZ WARRIOZ!"?
Probably none.
He will probably punch Guerrero enough times in the head to warrant a pretty clear UD.
I agree with this. No fighter with Floyds skill is going to fight toe to toe the entire time, but I think he'll do it more than many are thinking.
Not to mention Floyd will also lay on the ropes a good amount of the time which pretty much invites the other guy to come at him in a toe to toe fashion.
It is not impossible to make Floyd fight (even better versions just most guys don't like that outcome), I certainly think Guerrero is good enough to make Floyd fight. Now will that be toe to toe, Floyd is usually more aggressive against southpaws so I guess that is possible it might even be a good way to approach Guerrero who probably thinks Floyd will move away.
I don't think it will be a straight toe to toe fight, it will be at times though.

Hard to believe more than 21% give Floyd only a 0-10% chance of actually fighting toe to toe. Im no Floyd fan but I think thats pretty unrealistic given his recent outings and who he will be fighting. I fact, the more I think about it the more chance I give him of fighting that way, especially if he decided to make an example of Guerrero, who won't be able to hurt him.
Interesting voting to say the least.
respectfully, what professional do you know that has given up money to make a "more challenging" fight that pays less?
Its not that my friend. The kid is already beyond rich. If he were in it to be the greatest as "The904star" suggested he would be willing to take a little less for lesser fights and clean out the division. I don't blame him for going after the money, but its very difficult to do that and beat everybody.
Ok. Who could he fight at 147 that people on here would not call a cherry pick? The only people worth fighting are top rank fighters and that wont happen. So for Floyd, 147 will be cleaned out after Guerrero. After Floyd beat de la Hoya and hatton, who was left for Floyd to fight that wasn't top rank?
My man, greatness isn't achieved in the moment but after the fact, so cleaning out a division can only help his all time status. You say the only people worthwhile to fight are with Top Rank. I disagree. Beating all the best is what makes a great resume. You seem intelligent enough that I don't need to name all the great fighters in history who have done this.
Please don't hive me the top rank excuses. If Floyd wanted to be remembered as the greatest lime you said he would have made concessions to ensure certain fights happened. Floyd wants to be remembered as the richest, that's it.

If he wanted to be recognized as the greatest he'd be cleaning out divisions, not fighting once or twice a year.

Floyd doesn't care what you, me or anyone else has to think. He'll go out there and fight whatever way is best for him to get the W. If he's exciting..wooohooo!! If not...he don't care as long as he wins.
It's in his best interest to put on a show following his 6 fight deal on Showtime, which is still second rate to HBO. I know he doesn't have to fight 6 times, but considering the Pacquiao fight is officially dead, it's important that he performances. Me personally I'm saying scratch all that, I'm saying Mayweather makes this fight easier for himself in the pocket, he can actually stop Guerrero.
Believe that if u want. The man obviously gets ticked off at what the media says about him. He may not admit it but he cares. He wants to be recognized as the greatest. He already said he wants to keep fighting and show the world he still has it. What better way to show the world than fighting in your more elusive style?

Yes, Margarito or Brandon Rios type style lol.
According to half the people on this site if you don't stand there and let their favorite fighter hit you at will it makes you a runner :lol1:
Exactly right.
Went toe to toe with Mosley, Ortiz, and Cotto. No reason to believe that he won't go toe to toe with Guerrero.
The problem here, is that people are saying "toe to toe", and what they're meaning is "stand there and trade punches."According to half the people on this site if you don't stand there and let their favorite fighter hit you at will it makes you a runner :lol1:

I think if Floyd hears enough of these comments, we can throw toe to toe out the window. I think Floyd is very conscious of what people say about him. If enough people say he lost his legs, he may just go out and try to prove them wrong. I would actually rather see Floyd do this.

It's pretty obvious Floyd has to go toe to toe now.
He walked down Mosley and Ortiz and stood in front of Cotto. He's a different fighter these days, more vulnerable and his fights are more exciting because of it.
Just a shame Guerrero is unlikely to bring the best out of him.
