Hopkins said he could easily make 168 and Froch has said he wants to go to 175, at either weight, who do you think wins?
Does Hopkins pull off another Andre Ward type performance on Froch or does Froch and his determination to win get to Hopkins late on for a stoppage?
I thin most Brits would be curious if this fight happened, with the Calzaghe ties it adds another dimension to it . Who do you guys have?
Right now Froch would take it. Hopkins is a lot more passive now, he regulates his energy a lot more.
I don't think Hopkins has the power anymore to hurt Froch, so Froch would put massive pressure on Hopkins and beat him.
If Hopkins goes down in weight at his age he has already defeated himself.
At 75 you got a serious fight.
Hopkins already tried to make the fight at either light heavyweight or a catch weight pretty close to 175 (can't remember), and Froch rightfully declined. With both comfortable making weight, id take Froch in a close, probably controversial fight. Unlike Cloud, i think he has the tools to get cut down the ring and let his hands go a lot more, plus his boxing is too respectful for Hopkins to just man handle him like that and hit him whenever he wanted too the way he did last night. Hopkins looks bad against fighters that makes him look his age and i think Froch's work rate, hard flurries and the ability to fight 12 hard rounds, would give him the edge.
Hopkins wins in my opinion. I thought Cloud would beat Hopkins but Hopkins showed he has still got enough left to beat lots of guys and I think Froch is one of them. Froch is game as hell. He takes a good punch and he hits hard. He has good stamina and a great will to win. I don't think he is a very good boxer or very clever or hard to hit. He can be sloppy and leave himself open. Ward and Kessler both outpointed him and Taylor was well in front when Froch KOed him in the last round. Hopkins would take advantage of Froch's mistakes and potshot and wrestle his way to a close decision win.
People are seriously, seriously overrating Froch.Hopkins, even at this stage, is far too intelligent and far too crafty for a guy with such glaring flaws in his game.Froch is as slow as a slug, has little to no defense, and is exceptionally mediocre at fighting on the front-foot and actually forcing the fight - and that's exactly where Hopkins would capitalize on his mistakes.
And two more points:
* Froch does not fight "for 3 minutes of every round."
* Froch was not even remotely competitive against Ward.
This guy know what he's talking about. Hopkins UD.:boxing:

Honestly, Froch wins this one, it's not even a hard fight to pick. Hopkins looked good but he didn't look nearly as good as he did against Pascal in the rematch. At this point Froch, Hopkins is my dude, not one to bet against him but he doesn't win this.
this, 2 years ago I go with Hopkins
I wouldn't want to see this fight. Froch would probably win by overwhelming him.I would love to be proved wrong but I think Froch would be too active for a 48 year old Hopkins. But it's always possible for BHOP to pull through. Either way I like them both but this fight shouldn't happen this late
You're not gonna stop Froch from fighting at this point of his career. He isn't gonna wait on my main guy Hop. If Froch fights for 3 minutes of every round, which he's fully capable of doing, it's all bad for my guy Hop.
I don't know how to answer. I've doubted both of these guys a lot, and I'm at a point where I never want to doubt them again. If they fought each other, I'd have to doubt someone.
I'll say Froch. He was competitive with and nearly wore down Andre Ward, I think he wins a close, but clear decision against Hopkins.
froch would beat hopkins 9-3 or 10-2. he might even stop him. if he keeps fighting, one of these days bernard is going to get hit with a shot that he used to take and it's going to put him down.
