Jim is usually smiling and happy when he does the fights, I think he is pretty bummed out at this point since Floyd left HBO and Pacquiao got knocked out cold. It must really be rough on him especially the Pacquiao KO since Lampley was riding Pacmans wagon since the first day he saw him in 2001 or something like that. Lampley even went as far as to hint that JMM wasn't natural after the Pac fight, and kept bringing up Nonito Donaires year round testing.
Looks like HBO doesn't have the same zest, who can fill the void to bring excitement back to the channel. I actually will miss Manny Pacquiao he was sort of that good guy who fought hard and his style was appealing to people from all walks of life especially those people who were not born into a silver spoon family and had to come from the dirt to the top.
There are plenty of villains and its easy to be the bad guy, but its hard to get a guy like Pacman who can grab the fans without even talking crap and have people love him for his style of fighting.
Who can replace Pacman right now? No wonder people say Pac is one of a kind, I don't see anyone filling his shoes right now. I see guys like Broner filling Floyd's shoes, but who is the universal good guy warrior that can replace Pacman?
to me Lucas Mattysse is the closest thing seems pretty humble, came from a poor area, and always fights hard, but he doesn't speak English.

who you were rooting for that night?
Pacquiao obviously. I never knew I liked Pacquiao that much till that night.
I officially labeled myself a Pact@rd that night.

The hardest blow Marquez landed that night was directly to Lampleys heart.
Pacquiao was up and joking about the KO later that day, Lampley is still bitter after all this time.

LOL funny but true. Lampley is one of the most biased and harcore fanatics in sports, he is like Skip Bayless but not a TROLL, he is serious.
Exactly, dude always cries when he brings up Roach and Pacquiao's relationship. I remember him about to cry when he was talking about Pacman being the welfare system in the Philippines.
Also Lampley was making fun of Floyd for asking for drug testing, than all of a sudden when Pacman got KO his opinion changed and he wants strict testing lol, George Foreman is another Pac fan, he said that Floyd should just fight Pac with no tests just basic blood test for diseases, than when Pac got KO he said man comeback manny that fight was very very strange, you can tell Foreman was probably thinking the same thing about the steroids.
That's the last time I watched that new show he has, the bias was incredible trying to discredit Marquez.

Beautiful stuff right there, I agree HBO are full of it, They are biased with every Hbo fighter. I remember the bang bang lol he is just too passionate and not professional enough, Like you pointed out ,he should be keep those opinions and comments to himself ,they only hurt a fighters image and whatever Lampley or HBO says, the Pacquiao fans believe and non casual fans .. Hbo is a disgrace along with Lampley and Merchant.
I remember watching the fights on mute sometimes and having music in the backround because of the favoritism Lampley displayed.
On another note I wish the Showtime crew would scoop up Teddy Atlas I think he's legit and not too biased
The only problem with Teddy is he is a big time hater lol, but I love listening to his fight break downs and commentary, I love his passion when the fight is a robbery he really goes off on the judges.
Lampley was already pointing out the obvious during the weigh ins almost everyone was suspect of Marquez new body, but he should have kept those opinions to himself and been professional and taken the unbiased stance.
a lot of the HBO guys show favorites unlike Showtime which is professional they dont take sides. Lampley should have just kept his opinions to himself but the guy can't.
Lampley and Merchant were diehard Pac Fanatics, go look up that video when Larry first saw Pacquiao and Lampley they were both sold on him, saying who is this guy I would love to see him again like he was an instant star.
George Foreman became a Pac fan later on, imagine if Foreman was still working with HBO? Wow that would be a super duper biased broadcast three Pac fans they would be praising the crap out of Pacquiao and the poor opponent even if he was doing good would be torn to shreds.
remember Lampley's BANG BANG BANG comment lol, talk about biased man. haahahahaah he was really about to have an orgasmn
HBO = emotional commentators who show favoritism
Showtime = more professional unbiased commentary, except for Al Bernsteins slip up during the Mares fight where he was hating hard on Mares.

He was bashing Marquez when he was walking into the ring on the 4th fight against Pacquiao. Merchant was being a jerk and trying hard to insinuate that Marquez was using Peds, along with Larry Merchant . Merchant I can't stand for those statements and Lampley was throwing it out there as well. I remember Lampley even putting excuses on the table for Pacquiao throughout the fight. Shameful ! and yes he was sad and getting all choked up Jmm knocked out Pacquiao

who you were rooting for that night?
When did Foreman say this? You got a link?
It was on the Nonito vs. Arce card in Houston, Foreman was saying comeback and than said something about the fight being strange or something of that sort.
I don't remember word for word, but he only talked for a few and bounced.

might be that emmanuel steward died, larry merchant retired and HBO is loosing a lot of ground to showtime but im sure that manny's demise took something out of him as well...cotto on the slide also he loves him as well....truth is i feel him on all counts.
LMAO. He was sad that Pacquiao got KO'd. He had to say that about JMM, otherwise his Pacquiao fan club cards would be on the table.

well if thats true and he really is bias then howcome Jim Lampley was choking up and almost crying after the Marquez fight? he was ready to start sobbing when he said "after tonight... theyll recognize juan MANUEL MARQUEZ"
Dude is an emotional guy, but he bashed Marquez on the fight game about aligning himself with Memo.
Lampley was Pacquiaos biggest cheerleader, Merchant was probably the most legit Pac fan and fair fan, but he didn't cheerlead like BANG BANG BANG BANG lampley.

Gennady Golovkin is the new good guy warrior :)
I forgot about GGG, yes he has the potential even has the boyish smile and looks like he couldn't hurt a fly but is a beast in the ring.
