Richard Schaefer: "My plan is for the winner of Garcia-Judah to fight winner of Matthysse-Peterson, then the winner to fight @AmirKingKhan"
how the fuck is Khan the big prize?
and how is Garcia still getting outta giving Lucas his shot?
haven't heard if Garcia officially dropped the WBC strap yet
it should be Lucas-Garcia winner vs Lamont-Khan 2 winner
Zab shouldn't even be in the equation
Khan-Julio is ok, but Julio fell off a long time ago
why the hell do the other guys have to fight just to get a shot at Khan?
Because has a bigger fallowing, which makes a fight with him a bigger money fight. Thats how boxing works now days.
Hmmm so you didnt know Bradley made less than Peterson? anyway Bradley made just over $200,000 while Peterson made over $300,000.
Am sure you can dig that out somewhere, Gary shaw won the purse bid with something like $500K plus but Bradley decides to take less to avoid getting robbed which is a great decision....unlike that dumba*s who went into Peterson backyard even though he was the champ.
Nah I did not know that..Learn something new every day, hell I would have never guess that..
Would anyone have had a problem with this sequence of events if Shaefer hadnt said "and Khan gets the winner"?
I realise those words grate with a lot of people because of his losses but say if this tourney happened while Khan was rebuilding, the winner comes out, looks at his options and chooses to face Khan. Would anyone sh*t on Khan or his opponent then? Seems to me like that would be the best fighting the best, something every fan should want...
As a boxing fan im not particularly fussed about how these fights come about, as long as they actually do.
That's the problem. This thread is full of fanboys, and not ''Boxing'' fans. They have their particular favourites and that's all they have. The hate is too much for them to bear so it stops them from actually enjoying the sport of boxing, rather they choose to fawn over their particular favourites like teenage girls do over their favourite pop stars.
Any actual boxing fan would be over the moon at the news of some great fights coming up, not cry on the internet about a fighter they dislike being mentioned.
You can make a thread and asked that question, up to this point Khan is the highest earner out of those 4 names. Its irrelevant what you think or what i think, its what he gets paid as per the minimum of his contract with GBP that matters the most.
I agree with you here, but what its that..what does he get paid now?? The deal he had in place with Gbp is up..What is he making now is the question..
Peterson made more then Bradley? Link please..

Oh and we are talking about now not before he lost to Peterson or Garcia..My point is Khan is not where he use to be..How much is Khan getting a fight now with Showtime?? That's the answer we need tbh..

Really? I thought Pederson was the money guy? It shouldnt matter where he fought but what he is getting paid by his promoter.....Well let me educate you a bit more when Pederson fought Bradley he made more than Bradley because Timmy didnt want to risk getting robbed in DC, Now the key word is he made "More" than the champion in Bradley.. Now when Pederson fought Khan in DC he gave up "MORE" money so he can have home advantage.....And guess what he made? $650,000 which is still his highest payday till date!!!
So we have Pederson making more than Bradley but took less in a Khan fight and that "Less" was more than the "MORE" he took from Bradley.
Judah made $500,000 against Khan in their fight, the last time he made over that much was against Miguel Cotto...

I'll believe it when I see it. I fully expect Garcia to fight Khan before he fights the Mattysse-Peterson winner.
this^^^^^^^^^^
maybe plans HAVE changed....at the end of the day, the message GBP is sending out by making this move is saying that the King remains the King no matter what!!

Of course, when Peterson sign to fight Holt he was not even signed..Not to mention it was on espn who we know does not have a big budget..

Khan vs. the winner of Khabib/Prescott is a good match-up. I don't expect Khan to fight the loser of Matts/Peterson because there's a bit too much risk in that. Khabib/Prescott will provide a competitive fight and are beatable.
I can see that, sadly enough..
You want to argue about "Draw" and am not going there with you. What I know is Khan gets paid more than others and he is the guy that brings his opponents more money.
If Holt fights Khan today you bet believe he would make more money than he would have made in his fight with Pederson last month.

Peterson was Khans best sold fight in the US to date..How can you downplay that fact??I think money man is getting mixed up with potential earning power..Khan is not a draw here in the states,I don't even know if anyone from the UK would pay for his PPV anymore..I think Khans potential has always got him certain treatment..But I don't believe Garcia Peterson or Lucas get paid any different from Showtime to fight Khan then to fight each other..At this point..Maybe a different story a few months back, but here and now..They are pretty much all in the same boat, some better then others because they can draw in the states,a talent that Khan has yet to show...

Do you two really believe that Khan will just be giving the winner of this tournament??I'm kinda not buying it..I believe Khan is going to have to fights someone of note before that happens..

I would like for Khan to fight the winner of Allakhverdiev/Prescott. If Prescott wins, the storyline writes itself.
Excellent post! I agree 100%, if Khan beats the winner of Allakhverdiev/Prescott it would merit a shot. It would be a great tourney. They should market the hell out of it!

Well i believe that too, am sure after his next gimme confidence booster fight he would have to fight someone dangerous. Whatever you want to say about Khan he fights tough opponents when he was on top, He never claimed who? or whatever Broner comes out with, He chases his rivals and was prepared to risk his career high pay with Mayweather to get the naming rights.....Something your man Bradley was too scared to do.
This is some BS. So everyone else is matched hard while Khan fights Molina and Diaz?!? What sense does that make? I know he's the money man but beating the two career LW shouldn't grant you a shot at a title.
bolded is a controversial statement in this thread mate :lol1:
But to the rest of your post, Khan is in a rebuilding period, fighting these guys now would not be smart for him or GB imo. I think people need to ignore the 'tourney' tag, these fights were already in discussion. The only benefit it brings is pressure to make sure Garcia-Matthysse could happen if they both come through.
I said it before but if these sequence of fights (Garcia vs Judah , Matthysse vs Peterson, Khan vs Diaz, G or J vs M or P, then winner taking on K after should he win) no one would have a problem with it. Its only the fact that Khan is being portrayed as a 'prize' thats grating people.
Good fights are good fights...
