Where does he rank all time amongst prize fighters in the history of the sport?
I know this kind of thread has been done millions of times, but now that he has won another big fight, I think its worth re-visiting. Clearly were watching a once, maybe twice in a lifetime kind of fighter.
Says the idiot that claims "I can't name 30 fighters ahead of him."
You must only know of 30 fighters - you're a joke.
feel free to name more than 30 fighters ahead of B-hop. Based on resume not fantasy.
If he's a joke please list 100.
Do you still think Calzaghe is worse than Joe Mesi or are you just saying things to say it?
Sven Ottke is better than Calzaghe? Joe Mesi?

lots of bull.****....
He would go on to lose to the likes of Joe Calzaghe who I think is an awful fighter and the worst to ever retire from the sport with an undefeated record.

A total myth, an illusionists, all time great cherrypicker and the most "Boring" boxer performer EVER! I shut the damn thing off at the end of the 8th round! A total joke and a disgrace to think that Cloud is considered a "World Champion"!! The guy "refused" to throw punches, Why??? Ray.
He's up there, and really high.
Head-to-head there are some guys that would be ahead, but overall achievement and resume, he's above most of those guys.
Hopkins made a career off of fighting small men, former lightweights to welterweights. Guys like DLH, Trinidad, etc. When he fought guys his own size he fell short.
There is a reason why he never had the spotlight in the 90's. Roy was better and he was never going to beat prime Roy. James Toney would have knocked him out more than likely. He lost twice to Jermain Taylor.
Plain and simple, he isn't that good and if it weren't for beating household names like Felix Trinidad, Oscar DLH and Winky Wright, nobody would ever have cared about Bernard Hopkins, but there are many people who are casual fans who can't tell the difference between a guy who is a 147 or 154, and a JMW or LHW like Hopkins. They are the same people that you hear say "Who would win, Floyd Jr. or Mike Tyson?" And yes I have heard that - some people have no idea what weight classes are.

He beat Jean Pascal who is a bum, and Tavoris Cloud, and he hustled boxing fans out of their money in his fight against Chad Dawson, then would go on to lose in the rematch easily.
He isn't that good, guys, hate to say it. Do not get ahead of yourselves in this hype of beating a 31 year old wild fighter who really doesn't have any skills just because he is 48 years old.
Watching an old man fight backing up and turning his body then throwing 2 punch combo's is not "Mastery" or "Craft" it is boring and when he is gone from the sport that will be a great day. Tavoris Cloud is not good.
I didn't hear but it looked like he was yelling at Andre Ward.
Andre Ward would embarrass him. He is looking for more money.
I'm 32 and I know for sure that he is one of the top 3 fighters during my lifetime and I'd imagine that his resume and accomplishments have to put him in the top 30 all time.
While H2H I'd place Roy Jones ahead of Hopkins, I can't help but think Hopkins complete resume is better. I'd have Hopkins around the Top 25-30, just ahead of Mayweather and Pacquiao.
