Meat does stay in your system a long time, but that's why you are supposed to eat a lot of green beans and broccoli with your steak the fiber helps push it out.
Meat eaters tend to suffer from constipation mainly because most of them hate eating veggies which are high in fiber.
But I would never cut red meat out of my diet completely its vital for you for testosterone and B vitamins that you need, many people who don't eat red meat have to take b12 shots. Bradley said he has to take b12 shots multiple times a week when he is in training camp.
The problem with eating steak is the char, its carcinogenic and cancerous thats why its not good to grill your food or charcoal it every single day.
He is also right about the blood steak, some meat heads who like to set rules for what is masculine or not will make fun if you eat a steak well done or medium well, but that is the best way to eat a steak to avoid any possible parasites or worms from undercooked meat. They can act macho all they want but you will get the last laugh when they have worms in their colon.
I personally eat steak at least twice a weak, pan fried or grilled, I can't let go of steak but I limit it, I eat a lot of boneless skinless chicken breasts, and Fish like Salmon which is filled with healthy fats and taste great and lots of protein. I only buy fresh salmon many frozen salmon is from china and taste horrible.
also if you dont eat steak try to eat eggs to get B vitamins in your system for energy.
I also eat lots of broccoli, green beans, and fiber everyday if you ain't taking a dump in the morning especially after eating breakfast you don't have enough fiber.
If refraining from eating meat let you compete on a world level at age 48 every athlete on earth would be a vegetarian.
I do a lot of running, boxing, Crossfit. I went for a whole month without eating meat and I slept better, tons of energy, and my workouts sky rocketed. I as soon as I went back to meat my performance wasn't the same.
Absolutely this.
Not that there would be anything wrong at all with a little fat on it. Good for satiety + fat contains essential nutrients.
I think a big mistake athletes make is limit their fat intake too much. It's a very good source of fuel.
It's all about good fat versus bad fat. Good fat = the fat in tuna, salmon, nuts, avocado etc. Bad fat = trans fat...basically processed foods.
don't forget Bradley goes vegetarian or maybe even vegan before his fights.
the best I could ever do was lacto-ovo-vegatarian and I was craving a pepperoni pizza like a crackhead. I did 2 years and when I broke down the first thing I ate was a 20 piece from McDonalds
nah dude...it's gold. Heaps of protein and virtually zero fat.

Isn't Kangaroo meat about as beneficial as eating paper? Someone told me this, I don't know if it's true...gonna look it up now.

his point is sound.
if being a vegetarian made you a better athlete they would all do it. it doesn't, so they don't.
Yet most of them don't even eat to the best of their knowledge right now.
The most dedicated of athletes would possibly go vegetarian (though it would be a big deal saying no to all animal protein, it tastes good), but far from most.
Look at all the fatboys in the hw division.
Incorrect.
Look at all the athletes that already don't eat optimally.
Most can't even take their career seriously at 30.

i don't know a damn thing about kangaroo meat, but i know it's not nutritionally similar to paper.
slap whoever told you that. i'd do it for you, but all this meat i eat has me huge and alpha, and i would almost certainly kill the guy.
I heard a story a while back that said that if he orders chicken in a restaurant, he'll ask the chef to leave the white wine out of the sauce. Sums Hopkins up to a T, the man's a monk
He is a Muslim after all, which means no alcohol consumption which is always going to extend your career and make it easier for you to stay in shape.

yup.
he will actually ask to have the chef come out and speak to him. it's a product of being both incredibly disciplined and vain.
I know he doesn't drink or smoke but I thought I heard he was a vegetarian. If he is this would explain why he's so great in the ring.

He also eats organic buffalo meat. The guy is incredibly disciplined in his diet. Personally i try to eat kangaroo meat. It's probably the leanest source of protein in meat form out there with the exception of fish. Not sure if you guys in the USA have easy access to kangaroo meat, but i recommend it.

I guess that answers my question. I glad the he eats organic meats.

What do you cook for yourself on a daily basis when preparing for a fight? Is it more fish and seafood, or is it more red meat and steaks?
BH: I don’t eat red meat. Red meat is the worst thing you can eat for your body, as it stays in your body too long. It’s just something that I feel that if it ain’t organic, I ain’t messing with it.
I don’t need to eat a steak before the fight. I think that’s old school. Maybe in the '60s or the '70s, you eat a big ol' bloody steak, but that’s going to be in your stomach for three days.
To me, there are other sources of protein even higher in quality, and it’s not always necessary that it’s from protein shakes. I eat the things that give me what I need, which is obviously poultry, obviously chicken, obviously fish.
I eat a lot of quality poultry, quality grains, nuts, fruits -- stuff the Africans used to eat before everything got fancy. So I’m one of those guys that keeps it simple.
