should have been posted by now but i couldnt find it. just in case it hasnt or if anyone didnt cath it here it is.
crazy staredown, hopkins tried to intimidate him as soon as he got off the scale. cloud looked cool for the most part, his body language didnt show much fear or hesitation. he did blink a lot in the staredown though.
look at the intensity of hopkins as he got off the scale and the way his eyes pierce into cloud in the staredown, dude is getting scarier with age lol. he had that crazy serial killer look going on, **** wouldve made duran proud.
also notice how cloud, a big 175lber came in quite light. good move on his part, hes gonna be the stronger man regardless against this 48 year old former MW. coming in light will allow him to be quicker on his feet so he can apply more pressure and throw more punches once he gets in position to throw.
Boring event. Thought the thurman fight would at least been entertaining.
Yeah it bored me to tears ... now I gotta youtube the Edgar Sosa vs Archie Solis fight
I don't get why people are saying Cloud is "bad" all of a sudden.
He was undefeated, and apart form the Campillo bout he has shown he is world class in the ring.
It's not his fault that Dawson and Pascal didn't face him. His first real step up outside Campillo, Jonhson and Mack was Hopkins.
He got schooled. That's nothing to take away from Cloud, but more to do with what Hopkins did.
I wasn't criticizing you, I was generally speaking.
As bad as Cloud is, Hopkins is a 48 year old. He's great, an ATG, but he's 48 years old. The only sports where humans regularly excel at that age is Golf and Pro Wrestling .
You have to give credit where credit is due. Hopkins is 48 years old, he was the underdog and more people thought he was going to lose than he was going to win. The guy he fought is a terrible boxer, but powerful and has a good chin, is young and pretty active for a LHW, though it was known by some people that Hopkins was going to bring that number down and make fight at his pace.
Any one who had Hopkins losing before this fight, automatically gave up their right to criticize the win unless it was a Hopkins robbery, which it was far from that.
He deserves some credit because of his age no doubt, but like I said I can't give him too much credit considering the opponent.
Him being the underdog has more to do with the fact that not many people watched the Campillo fight.

That's the thing. Cloud is a world champion (or even former world champion if b/c of the Campillo fight) in his physical prime. A very physically strong fighter with a notoriously high punch output. And he was favored to win this fight. The betting lines don't lie and the comments from people on this forum don't lie.
And a ****in 48 year old man took his ass to school. It's unheard of. I don't expect Hopkins to beat guys like Ward and Dawson but to be able to compete at this level at this age is nothing short of phenomenal.

That is basically the storyline of Hopkins' career. Before the fight, he's underdog "Too old", "Won't win", "Opponent too active", "This is it, Hopkins will get knocked out", "This is the one who's going to do it". After the fight, "Opponent wasn't that good to begin with, he had already lost to...." Yeah, and despite this you still thought Hopkins was going to lose so shut up.
Outside of Calzaghe and Dawson, since 2006 Hopkins has been pretty much beat all favorites. Tarver, Wright, Pavlik, Pascal, Cloud. He also lost clearly against Dawson but ended up doing a lot better than expected.
Whoever picked Hopkins to lose that fight had to be REALLY ignorant. He's one of my favorite fighters of all time but I'm still gonna keep it real, Cloud did get schooled by Campillo, I can't give B-Hop too much credit for beating a guy that was outboxed in his last fight. Your criticism is misplaced.

Why Hopkins was a betting underdog against Cloud will forever be a mystery.
Good performance from my man B-Hop but I can't be too impressed given that Cloud got schooled in his last fight and shouldn't have his belt and his O. Still a pretty good feather in his cap.

LOL yeah maybe was joking or something. I wish he'd just call it a day at 50, but hell, he's defied logic so long I don't really know if it matters. Let him do what he wants to do.
Yup, that was eyebrow-raising lol.
Lol. I was thinking 50 too Street. I was like , really. **** he just may pull it off. I learned my lesson years ago betting against him so all power to him.
War B-Hop till 2018!
What more can we say about Bernard Hopkins, bonafide all time great. Its gotten to the point when im not even sure hes slowed down cos of age, I think hes slowed himself down so all the casuals can witness his genius.

He made it look pretty easy and really didn't even break a sweat doing it. He sees the game in a different light, he reads between the fine print while most of the other fighters and only see the headlines.
