at 5:25 they were asking Robert how about Russel and Broner talking crap about Mikey Garcia like they didn't know who he was, and Garcia answers thats the typical African American trying to act hardcore or bad ass.
who Mikey? who Mikey?
how about the undefeated Lineal fucking champ that obliterated a champ that had faced Lopez x2, Gamboa, Guerrero, Marquez etc
Mikey's win over Salido > Broner's entire career
Hoo Hoo!!!!
I like how Garcia speaks the truth and he gets called a racist
but james toney, hopkins, mayweather and broner get a pass to say bigoted sh1t all the time
close thread me thinks
Tryin to be quick witted like Ali and intimidating like Tyson. It just doesn't really work out anymore..
It's the 'trying' part that causes the problems. A slow witted numbskull trying to talk like Ali is always going to look ridiculous.
Yeah I can see his disaproval as he points to Rios' example with a smile on his face.
I think its very possible he felt regret when he was in front of all those people at the press conference and Roach was there. Sometimes it takes something like that to realize how wrong something is. He still thought it was funny at the time though. I'm not excusing that.
Robert said Rios didn't know Roach was sick, and I believe him. Despite coming off ass a dick he does alot of charity work with sick kids and almost never gets publicity for it.
He's a good guy.

Watching the video, I don't think Robert said it in a racial way. I think there are a lot of fighters of all nationalities that trash talk and can be irritating. No big deal. It makes it more entertaining to me. Its a part of the sport as well as many others. It shows a fighter's confidence as well as playing mind games with a future opponent. Robert took it personal because he felt they were disrespecting Mickey. He's right, Russell still hasn't proven anything at this point except the fact he is a great prospect. But heres a question. Can you name a black fighter that became a multi millionaire being humble??? In this sport, Blacks have to play the villian to get big media attention and get the big checks. Who cared about "Pretty Boy" Floyd??? But when he became "Money" Mayweather, the world took notice. That's just the game. But at the end of the day, despite what anyone say or thinks, who are the gods of the sport??? There are no fighters bigger than Ali, Louis,Leonard, Robinson, Tyson, Foreman, Jones Jr, Mayweather...etc. That, meaning personality and ring accomplishments. There are and were a lot of great fighters that have achieved a lot of great things in the ring, but none bigger. I can understand why it gets under so many people's skin when someone with so much talent talks so much trash. The way to solve it...beat the hell out of them in the ring. Oh, and don't wait until they're past their prime to do. it.

Anybody who's around boxing knows what it means when a former fighter shakes like that.
I can remember when Hatton beat Malignaggi, Mayweather pretended not to know who Malignaggi was. For why? it's just ignorance, it doesn't impress anyone.
I have far more respect for someone like Andre Ward who says he's a fan of the sport as much as a fighter and knows and follows everyone in the game.
If I was a fighter, I wouldn't do it, because when you fight that guy and beat him, you're saying you just beat a nobody. Broner and Mayweather haven't figured that part out yet. Broner more so, Mayweather does attempt to convince us who he fights is a credible opponent.
Yeah, he was covering up for them and did look foolish in the process. It was so obvious what they meant by that, but maybe also he was trying to trick Roach (although unsuccessful) into believing they didn't mean it like that, because he knew it was really messed up and didn't want Roach to feel like these guys were clowning on him for something he can't help. I've done the same thing before. Told someone those guys didn't mean it like that, because I cared about the guy's feelings and didn't want him to feel they were making fun of him. Robert is a good guy and I could see that being apart of the reason too.

umm nah they actually go to fight and almost all of them have been in fights of the year. They're not satisfied with running, clinching and pulling "veteran tricks" then talking trash. That's "acting" tough
Some latin fighters run, clinch and use dirty tactics. Nothing wrong with that as long as you win and back up your trash talk.
What has Broner done?
Not that much really. Considering the god like pedestal he likes to put himself on.
I'm just telling him what they mean by it. I'm not defending it at all.
And Garcia had the nerve to say they didn't know Roach had Parkinson's. SMH
