Broner trainer likes Malignaggi fight

So I may be in the minority when I say this, but what the in the hell does Golden Boy, and HBO think they are trying to do in setting up this match up???
I think this is the wrong idea, and it is all too clear what all sides are trying to do here. Possible Scenario's if Broner wins we have a new face at 147lbs, the same division Floyd Mayweather jr, Manny Pacquiao, Juan Manuel Marquez, and Tim Bradley are fighting in.So this win sets up all kinds of Mega PPV matches across the board, and thus putting money in everybody pockets.
Scenario 2: This literally set into motion Adrien Broner ultimately Clashing with Mayweather over Welterweight Supremacy, there is no getting around. If Fans can ask the Klitschko brothers to fight each other, there will be no excuse or reason for the fans not to ask Adrien and Floyd to fight each other.
For Mayweather, can his legacy really survive history bashing him for not fighting possibly two H.O.F fighters in Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner while they were both in his Weight Class?
For Broner, at 23 years of age is he really ready to handle all the pressure, and luxuries of fame this fast? At 147 he will most definately be in the Lion's Den in every fight while in the division, and most noteably all the fighters who cant get to Mayweather will be gunning for HIM, so the public would not allow him to simply moved back down to lightweight if he beats Paulie, the expectation would be since he fight and won a title at that weightclass he can take on all challengers at that weight class. example, Pacquiao and Mayweather @154.
I really hope Broner's people turned this offer down, and let Adrien keep building his legacy and grow as a fighter. Let him clean out 1 div. first before moving up to wleterweight. The lightweight divison is coming together nicely. Burns, Miguel Vasquez, Abril, Gamboa, Shafikov
Considering recent events, I have been proven right again!!
Broner team just threw away a damn good career he could have had.
Now all he can do is be the smallest welterweight in the division and continue to be bullied and pushed around. Take your ass back to lightweight Broner
Develop your skills, and mature as a fighter!
If he does, good for him, he's where the big boys go. I will hate to not see him face the current 140lb top dogs though.
On the other hand, a year or two most of those guys will probably still want to beat Broner and most of the 140s are pretty big, so I could see them moving up to 147 as well.
I'd rather see Broner fight Peterson, Matthysse, and see him spank Bum Bum Rios.
Are you guys saying 140 has more dangerous fight than 147??
AM I seeing this correctly??
In that case Mayweather should just asked 140lbers to move up for his next couple of ppv's since that is the div. with all the talent!!:nonono:
Have you not noticed, for the most part, that that is what Floyd has been doing? Fighting guys that had just moved up to 147 from the lower weights.
u cant say hes ducking 140 for taking that fight because realistically theres no1 for him to fight at 140 rite now anyways. everyone has a fight lined up. the only fights that are worth a damn are the paulie fight and the abril fight. besides those two guys, who the hell else is there to fight? i dont like the move to 147 tho. i think its a huge mistake for broner, much too early. ppl are complaining for the wrong reasons tho. the paulie fight is not a bad fight at all. u cant claim it is and then claim ppl overrate broner because that is exactly what u are doing. jumping over a division and fighting a good veteran like paulie is a very dangerous fight for broner.hes not floyd frikkin mayweather.
We the public can demand all we want doesn't mean where gonna get the fights we want. Just look at the two biggest vaginas (Mayweather/Pacquiao) the biggest fight that could have made history and it never got made. If that doesn't tell you how little influence we as paying viewers have that we never got to see that fight you can bet your a$$ Broner well get away with fighting the lesser fighters in that division.
What they are trying to do is avoid the 140 division and take less risk in loosing his 0 and hype him out to be the next Mayweather if he beats on Paulie. Why let him fight high risk opponents with little reward when they can just avoid all that and have him beat on Paulie and after that protect him by fighting lesser opponents. Once Mayweather retires they well hype him up to be the new p4p king and they well sell him exactly like Mayweather. By that time every Junior Welterweight well be heading to Welterweight division and that's when they well start selling his fights as payperview. The new younger undefeated Mayweather vs _________ and the story continues.
This may well be true! :grumpy: I really wanted to see Gamboa vs Broner :grumpy:
My dude do you honestly think the public isnt going to demand Broner take on a real challenge after he beats Paulie. You do not think Mayweather would not be asked to fight Broner after he beat Guerrero?
You do not think Pacquaio, Bradley, Marquez would not be asked to fight Broner?
Mosley is still a live dog at 147, Alexander, Berto, Brook, Bradley, Guerrero, Maidana, and the rest of the 140 pound guys when they move up!
This is really crazy! I can promise ESPN would hype a broner mayweather match up like no other!!

They are going to use Mayweather's name to hype Broner up, we all know they are never going to fight each other. ESPN well promote that fight just so Broner can gain some reputation and the public well be aware of the "new Mayweather" that's all.

Sidenote: Dan just dropped a piece

After the March 16 Ricky Burns-Miguel Vazquez lightweight unification fight was pushed off on Monday, Golden Boy Promotions' CEO Richard Schaefer said he revisited trying to make a unification fight between Adrien Broner and Scotland's Burns for June 15 in Las Vegas.
After Burns-Vazquez was postponed until April 20, still in London, Schaefer said he was in touch with Burns promoter Frank Warren about instead doing the Broner fight, which the sides had already tried to negotiate in February.
According to Schaefer, Warren said he was interested but that Burns' manager, Alex Morrison, wasn't. Schaefer said that was "unfortunate, because Ricky is going to lose to Vasquez for a fraction of the money he can make fighting Broner."
Schaefer wouldn't put a number on how much he offered for Burns, but said, "I offered Frank a lot of money for Burns to come over. It's a very big number. I said to Frank, 'Why don't you come over here ? At least Ricky is going to make double or triple what he can make in this fight with Vazquez.' Frank said, 'I'm on board, but the manager doesn't want to fight Broner.' He said there's nothing he can do."
With no Burns fight for Broner, Schaefer said there's a possibility the lightweight titlist will jump up two weight classes to challenge welterweight titlist Paulie Malignaggi on June 22 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. (Malignaggi's hometown).
"Paulie told me he is interested, and HBO likes the fight," Schaefer said. "People will like that fight. Paulie did tell me he would take it. He's not sure Broner would take it. I put it to Al Haymon to talk to Adrien. I think it would be a very interesting fight."
I like Broner-Burns, but Malignaggi-Broner? Count me in.
You think Broner could actually beat Alexander or Brook? Both guys beat the snot out of him easily. Ortiz and Maidana lay him out, so would Holt.
Alexander and Brook..he's got a good chance..
Ortiz-Broner would be fun while it lasts..til Ortiz gets his soul taken as usual..and Maidana is too offensive minded even with Robert Garcia..Broner would lure him in and Broner would pick him apart...
I'm basing my assumption based on their styles..Broner is a big dude..not height but mass..he packs a devastating punch and I'm sure it'll carry over to as high as 147lbs...154 not so much.
I think Broner is really good, he can adapt and is a thinker in the ring..which is going to work to his benefit once he starts actually fighting guys his size who can also punch with him..
If Broner got punched in the face as much as he did against Reese, imagine what the top dogs @ 147 will do to him.
As of right now, I agree! He has to grown into a division like 147 before he can consume those kind of shots!!
I rather he clean out 135 , 140. I've always been a fan of fights in the fighters natural weight or best weight division . I hate seeing someone come up from their division even if its 5-7 pounds. Fight the best at their best class . Looks better and feels more legit . Like PAC did with Hatton. But should've fought Marquez at 140 at least. It just adds more bs and advantages to the bigger fighter.
Green K! I am for this approach to Broner's career :boxing:
If Broner got punched in the face as much as he did against Reese, imagine what the top dogs @ 147 will do to him.
That's the truth too. All this talk of Broner ruling divisions is nonsense, people need to wake up from fairytale land, there is a reason he is at 135 fight Rees and acting like Vazquez doesn't exist.
Or he can just fight them at 140? WW has to explode with JWWs because Broner will hold boxing's paperiest belt? Remind me when boxing completely revolved around broner
Boxing doesnt revolved around broner, it revolved around the fighters who HBO and now Showtime decides too make the face of their networks!!
It happen with SRL, DLH, CHAVEZ, TYSON, RJJ, and MAYWEATHER!
And now it is highly likely that HBO will make Broner the face of their network, therefore making alot of matching revolved around him since Mayweather is no longer with them! And Broner will now be the new face! History shows us this
I really hope, Broner team stop this **** from happening, he needs to grow into these divisions. He cant fight the way he does now at 140 and expect to survive!! Damn it sucks, but it would be great match up's while it lasted!
Could you imagine Broner vs Khan, Thurman, lucas, Garcia, and the ghost!!
All very sell-able fights some even PPV!
I forgot about Thurman that dude hits hard but he is a Haymon fighter so he won't be fighting Broner.
If Broner does take these fights he will live up to the saying Dared to be great, but I find it hard to believe if they do push him this way. I don't think they will put him against the warriors or bad boys of the divisions, they might just feed soft punchers like Paulie, and a few other guys maybe Devon Alexander and couple Journey men first to build his name, he could take the Roy Jones jr. route and fight easier fights on HBO while making millions.
Honestly this is what I see happening..
IF he fights and beats Malignaggi, like I stated earlier, he'll unify with Brook/Alexander winner, then he'll fight someone like Kendall Holt, then he'll defend against a Mexican/Hispanic brawler like Ortiz or Maidana, then he'll go to fighting once a year on Cinco de Mayo
You think Broner could actually beat Alexander or Brook? Both guys beat the snot out of him easily. Ortiz and Maidana lay him out, so would Holt.
