What do you guys think? He admitted to being addicted to cocaine and said he used it all the time, even right before fights. Would using cocaine help him out in a fight? IMO he was a cheater because Cocaine is a stimulant that gives you crazy energy and makes you numb to certain feelings, like pain. Who knows before how many fights he used cocaine, yet he criticized Mosely and Vargas for using steroids, IMO Cocaine right before a fight is just as bad.

He would have tested positive for it.
In his interview Oscar contradicts himself, he says he did not use Cocaine until two years ago, which would of been from 2008-2009, yet when asked if that was him dressed like a woman,he said yes, because he had consumed so much alcohol and cocaine.WTF Those pictures of him dressed like a woman came out in 2007 and could of been from an earlier date. That was before he fought Mayweather or Pacquiao.Im beginning to think Oscar was a cheat even more now. But why would'nt he test positive for cocaine? Did he have so much power and even payed off the commissions?Hell he probably had everything covered up.

You just got Margarito and Santa Cruz mixed up even though the name is in the picture, I'm not taking YOU seriously. :pat:
If he snorted coke right before a fight it would have showed up in his piss.
They don't piss after the fight, they give blood. They only piss 24 days before the fight.
Oscar was a fraud! He set the blueprint for the shyt we see today. Face the champs either on the way out or take on the weakest of the division and sell it to the fans as a great matchup.
Yeah Quartey, Tito, Mosley and Hopkins were weak or on their way out. Fuck outta here with this nonsense.
This, from what I remember when I watch the whole Oscar special, he said that that he was an alcoholic for a really long time, but started doing coke not long ago I think he said like 2 years prior to the interview hence ur point about after PAC retired him.
Not hating on Oscar but he said he did drugs during the last few years of his career. Those fishnet photos came out in 2007 just after the Floyd fight and he later admitted he took those after a coccaine binge. I am sure it got worse once he wasn't fighting anymore though.
Here is an old AP article excerpt:
"In the interview with Univision, the former welterweight champion spilled the details of his marital, drug and alcohol problems.
Known as 'The Golden Boy,' Mr De La Hoya became the subject of the photo scandal in 2007 when Ms Dravnel, who claimed he had cheated on his wife with her and posted the embarrassing images on the internet.
At the time, the De La Hoya camp claimed it wasn’t him in the photos and that the stripper was 'out for money."
This is BS. Oscar was a true professional who cared about his legacy too much to risk it during his hall of fame career. What are you trying to pull? He didn't start partying until after Manny retired him. He got extremely depressed that he could no longer pull the trigger and fight at that level. He never used coke during his career man. WTF is wrong with you? You couldn't be an Oscar fan with a thread like this. More like **** starter.

Wasn't DLH linked with steroids? I've never read a press story on it but seen it mentioned on forums multiples times, usually involving a covered up test.
Arum insinuated it during the first Mayweather/Pacquiao negotiations in early 2010. Said something to the affect of Oscar should be careful about accusing someone else of juicing because Bob knew his whole history.
This was after Oscar said it made him very suspicious that Pac was on something in their fight after Pac made an issue of blood testing.
Don't really believe it myself but you never know, boxing is far from a clean sport.
Coke is not something one would want to take as a performance booster. It could give you a short term boost of energy but in a 12 round fight it would do more harm than good.
Eighty to 90
percent of users, however, snort cocaine, which
produces a euphoria that peaks more slowly,
taking five to 15 minutes." The few studies that
exist suggest that little to no performance
gains are incurred from cocaine and its
amphetamine-like properties. Cocaine is
notable for distorting the user's perception of
reality; for example, an athlete may perceive
increased performance and decreased fatigue
in the face of actual decreased performance in
both strength and endurance activities. An
increase in heat production combined with a
decrease in heat loss associated with cocaine
abuse impairs the body's ability to regulate its
temperature during physical activity.
It most certainly would help as a performance booster.
He could have bombed it, put it up his ass or in his water.
