Corruption in Boxing?

When Roy Jones and Evander Holyfield get linked to steroids and can just play silent and everybody just forgets about it shows you there is. The fact Arum frequently refuses the fights fans want to see and kills them like Floyd vs Pac, Gamboa vs Lopez, and Mares vs Donaire. Corruption has actually been proven by the Feds and court systems numerous amount of times...Don King with bribing WBO and WBC...Bob Arum with bribing Judges... Only a few have been actually convicted or found guilty of these things.. Don King was found to have boosted his fighters rankings in sanctioning bodies by paying, meaning his fighters would someone shoot up through the rankings. As far as ped testing is concern, the testing agency should be independent and funded by donations. How are you suppose to trust an agency that is getting paid by the boxer or promoter?

There always has been and there always will be. How do you fix it? You have to burn it down and start over, the rats are too dug in for even the strongest d-con to get them out.

It's like the elephant in the room. Everyone knows its there, it just doesn't get mentioned as it's an integral part of the sport. It has gotten better over the years, however it's still a major part. How can you get rid of it? Good question. You have sanctioning bodies in countries like Mexico, Puerto Rico, Panama and the US where corruption is easier to manifest. A global regulatory body that has major links and checks with other major sporting bodies is needed, to oversee the whole sport. It needs power and legitimacy to actually enforce rules. But the way the sport has developed historically kinda makes it impossible. That doesn't even begin to touch the corruption regarding the judges.

I agree with what you said about a central governing body but I don't know if that will ever happen i think not as many people would be able to profit off of it as they do now so this would stand in the way of a central governing body ever being created

Corruption is inherent with any system. And in the case of boxing, where there is no established regulatory body, you know that corruption is going to be magnified.
