hey guys, planning on buying tickets to Donaire -Rigo, problem is I never been to a boxing event and I don;'t know anyone who would want to go.
have you ever been to a boxing event alone? How was it? Worth it?
Funny this thread has been dug up from the grave, but makes me want to post an experience I had.
I was in PR for Verdejo vs some bum with Pitufo as the co-main. My 2 buddies I went with went to get drinks immediately, so I walked into the venue and sat down where my seat was and I'm literally sitting next to this beautiful woman who was also "alone". I'm like, yo, this feels like a setup. I'm trying to figure out, should I make some convo with her, what's the deal that she's all dressed up and nobody is with her? In my mind, I'm like, naaah, her man has to be around. As I sat in awkward silence next to her for a few minutes hoping my buddies show up to break the awkwardness, I see this jacked diesel dude walking down the aisle looking right at me with drinks in his hand. He sits right next to her and they begin talking. I was thinking, damn, I'm glad I didn't try to get a convo going with her and he shows up thinking I'm trying to hit on her (which I wish I could have, lol). He was like 250+lbs of muscle and back then I was like 160lbs, skinny as a rail, lol.
Going solo to a boxing event actually makes you notice the details more, the tension before each round, the momentum shifts, and how quickly everything can change with one punch. That same focus on timing and reading the situation is what I like about using a mobile betting app like https://parimatch.in.net/app/, where coefficients are clear and bets can be placed fast right from the phone. The game flow stays simple and easy to understand, so you’re not distracted by the interface and can just enjoy the action while chasing a potential win at your own pace.
Going to a boxing event alone isn’t weird at all. Sometimes solo is even better — you move how you want, you shout how you want, no one rolling their eyes. I do the same with gaming when I’m out; mobile games are perfect time fillers. I recently found casino apps in india with fast INR deposits and withdrawals, and it made waiting before the event way more fun. Seriously, being alone often makes the whole experience smoother. You’re not “lonely,” you’re free.
I went to Mayweather - Ortiz alone. I live in the UK and wanted ringside tickets, you can hardly ask a friend to cough up like £2500 to go with you! It was great, I am the sort of person who meets people wherever I am so I hung out with some people there and was sat next to some high roller and his trophy girl and we had a good laugh and a few beers.
lol I like how you summed him up.
check this forum.
met up with -the glove- and his crew a few years back in dallas for pac-clottey and were both from seattle.
weve been good friends since.

Ive been to fights with people and alone. Ill go alone in a sec. Doesnt bother me at all. I love to watch baxin......lol
Anyways, most time you will sit beside atleast one cool person. Doesnt matter even if you dont because if the fights are good then everyone will be into it anyways. Im zoned in at boxing matches so I never even really think about it.
The only time it truly sucks is when you meet some people that you may wanna take a pic with but have no one to do it for you....lol
This is your 1st fight so you wont need anyone to go with you since you will be so amped up. Most people's 1st fight is something small & local. This is a huge match on a major network. You will be glued in. I may go to that fight though
if you're lucky enough to sit next to a real boxing fan, casually ask who do they think is going to win. boom, now you have someone to discuss with during the fight.
I did that for Maskaev vs. Rahman 2 in Vegas, chick was working and friends were tied up. I usually stand outside the arena and people are usually stuck with an extra ticket. 1 ticket is always easy to come by, usually get a good price too. You'll get the ticket for about half price if you bargain it right.
The good thing is this fight is a hardcore boxing fight. so it will be mostly fight fans. You'll have a good time talking with some diehards.
Lolol! So true. I'm probably going to Hopkins-Cloud and Donaire-Rigo by myself. Honestly I think going solo would be better than going with someone who isn't interested. They're just gonna be bored and trying to talk to you the whole time. I'd rather be alone and be able to concentrate on the fight.
why would you wanna watch Hopkins vs Cloud?
Had that problem at Paris vs Judah lol... I was front row in the blue corner all Of Paris dudes from Detroit around me. Me and a friend of mine cheering for Judah lol almost got serious for a minute there... Had to stand my ground/talk my way out of it at the same time lol. Next time I'm in that situation I will be a little more aware of my surroundings.
Good learning experience huh? :lol1:
TS if you're going to Matthysse - Peterson in Atlantic City let me know, you definitely won't have to go by yourself for that cause Im there! Along with some others in here.
I've never gone to some fights and didn't have fun. I always went with someone but I think I'd have fun even if I was solo. Its in NY you'll have fun no matter what. Im broke right now and I live in New Mexico, if I lived closed I would be down to go.
I'd try to invite a chick, if that didn't work out, fuck it I'd ride solo. If it's between going alone to a boxing event or not going at all, I'm there no doubt.
There's a good amount of peeps from here going. Thing is, chances are you won't be anywhere near them during the fight. You can always get together before/after the fight.
But like someone said, try to socialize with someone next to you. Just make sure you two are going for the same guy. If not, dont get into any altercations. :lol1:
