It's funny to me that Gamboa is leading the poll to fight Broner, who, got criticism for fighting a former 140 lb champion citing his SIZE.
Yet the majority of the forum, at least at the current moment, would like to see him fight a guy who was a featherweight 2 years ago, and had just 1 fight at 135.
Obviously Gamboa is a better fighter than Rees P4P, that's besides the point.
It's not besides the point.
If Rees was an elite fighter no one would have complained. It's about Rees abilities rather than his size.
The fact that he's very mediocre made some people drag up his height, but it's really about skills.
Gamboa is much much more skilled than Rees.

LoL My watermark is still in the Martinez pic.....
nice concept though
Hahahahaha I didn't even notice my bad. I used to have the same picture as my background but couldn't find it ever again until i seen you had it so i just used yours.
I think Gamboa Broner would be interesting. I kind of just want to see Broner beat him up though. Or just a good fight. Doesn't matter.

I'd like to see him take on Abril as well. But being that he came straight to the division and crushed the top fella in the fashion that he did. It kinda did him a disservice off the break. You know some Boxing fans are never satisfied, and woulda been runnin round talkin bout he's duckin Demarco. :lol1: if he woulda fought Abril, Vasquez, or Burns 1st.
hahaha Never thought about it like that. I'm sure that's exactly what would have been going on right now.
Good thing though is he will more than likely top out at 147, so we will see him fight the best sooner or later, and the best are gonna command money, which should queue in the greed of the managers and promoters. Sad thing is there may be some fights we want to see slip through the cracks, but the major ones should be taken care off.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure not every single fight will be made. I just hope he's never involved in a Mayweather Pacquiao type of situation.
My pleasure my good man. :fing02: Im with you on the PED testing. As a mtter of fact I'd rather the sticking issue in negotiations to be whether VADA or USADA is the testing body to perform the testing rather than having testing at all. To me it shouldnt be a matter of if there is testing but more so WHO is doing the testing.
That is so true.
I'm with you. I'd rather see him fight them both and even Abril. It would do him better to go that rout, but it looks like his greedy Manager and Promoters are influencing him to take the bigger money making fights instead. That's a problem most fighters face, I believe, now days.

If they reschedule Burns/Vasquez Im all for it. I'm actually interested in that fight, but somethiing tells me Broner is gonna lobby for that fight to be dropped altogether so he and Burn can get it on(pick up Brit fans on HBO????), and clean out 135 in 3-4 fights(taking a fight with Vasquez being that Burns didnt beat him yet).
If you ask me the door is now open to Broner fighting both Burns and Vasquez(Burns 1st, giving Vasquez time to get himself back healthy). But I could be just exhibiting a lil bit of wishfull thinking. :lol1:

Why thank you sir. :) Yes, he definitely needs to show us what he's got and I'd like to see him undergo strict PED testing in the process.

Yeah good point, but they are saying now that they might reschedule the Burns Vasques fight, so he'll have to fight someone before then. Gamboa does have some more proving to do. That's all I can think of every time I hear him call out Broner. BTW, good to see you posting here again.

I Think its fine to mention Gamboa Ross mah homie. It actually is a viable fight given the skill set of both fighters IMHO. Its just that Gamboa has to prove to everybody that he is still the dynamic fighter that he once was before the whole layoff/TR/Rios craziness.

I would have rather left his name out, but I knew his name would have been brought up if I didn't.

I say Burns 1st then Vasquez(being that the Burn/Vasquez fight is off due to Vasquez pulling out the fight). Gamboa has quite a bit to prove in regards to if he is the same fighter being that his last outting was subpar.
I think the Gamboa fight will be better served if Gamboa comes back strong against some good names, and they meet when they both move up to 140. I wouldnt mind both of them taking a 2nd tier fighter at 140 to adjust to the weight, and then fighting eachother as their 2nd fight at 140 before taking on the monsters of the division(that is if the monsters havent moved up to 147 by then).

Don't know why Gamboa's name keeps popping up in Broner threads. He may have the skillset but the guy is too small. I'd rather see Vasquez/Broner.
