becuase the biggest threats out there that he's too afraid to fight, that people were demanding him to fight are pretty much gone. there are no more sharks around his water thus he wants to swim more now... the ones consdidered #1 at the moment are not really that much of a threat thats is why he's willing to fight them now . .he waited for this time to come...
many say he's fought hof'ers ,but why do you think up to this date, diego corrales (RIP) who's not even a HOF'er remains his best win? why ? thats right , it is becuase floyd did'nt fight them when it really mattered...
look, you say floyd wants to cash out..agreed
but why is he so eager to fight more now than a couple of years or so ago when people were demanding fights from him ? what changed? ..it's you that seems to purposely not see the changes in the competiton between then and now...
and since you want to use 50 as a reference how about you watch this video where he was asked if he feels floyd ducked pacquiao...
starts at 3:40...
So according to 50 Floyd aint scared of no fighter including PAC. And he said Floyd really wanted the fight for may 5. Just wanted to point this out since Floyd haters now put stock into what 50 says.
Floyd's resume looks really dodgy over the last ten years and when you add the glaring omissions it just gets worse. I would lay money on that run continuing or getting worse. Guerrero is poor, but it could well be alexander afterwards in september(should he fight then, which I doubt).
So hard to figure out why this guy doesnt take challenges. He has the talent, or did have, but went missing.
oh i get all that ..he's about the money, who is'nt?...like i said , he's been at the tail end of his carrer for the past 4 -5 years (according to him) and this is the first time he showed eagerness to be more active...what changed? i tell you what changed, the quality competion did...
To keep it real, you can actually say it started with the Ortiz fight. He fought sept 2011, then may 2012 and might have fought again late last year if it wasn't for the jail time. Ortiz and cotto were within a 12 month period and this was before manny got ko'd.
What about 154?
154. Lara, Canelo..Trout..Kirkland...K9... Is a alive division. So if this is gonna be Mayweathers MAIN division, then he has alot of legit opponents there.
Or Atlest a division that he plans on visiting quite a bit.
This argument is kinda like the same thing that happened after the Delahoya fight, that Mayweather retired because the competition was getting heavy...
IE..Paul Williams, Undefeated Cotto, Margarito and etc...
Well I agree that 140 is a stack division but 147 does seem pretty weak once again.

becuase it is part of the argument ..dont you see a pattern ?
retired when them guys were around ...
came back after they beat eachother
then wants to be active now that pac just lost..
it has been the story of half of floyd's career...

I've already admitted that neither Floyd or Arum cared if that fight happened or not. That situation was about egos and nothing else. What did 50 say in another interview "Floyd's biggest pet peeve is that his opponents make career paydays off of his name." There is a reason why he hasn't fought a Top Rank fighter since he left the company.
And if I recall, 50 cent said something along the lines of "Floyd wants the perfect fight, not the toughest fight". Which is exactly my point.
He picks opponents that can be marketed to sell PPVs and put money into his pockets. They have some combination of having a big name, a big fanbase, are coming off big wins or are fighters that can attract Mexican fans on national holidays.
So if you have a choice between Paul Williams vs. Ricky Hatton, you know which one he is picking. The one with the "whole country behind him".
Do I approve of this? No. I would have loved to see him fight Margarito, Williams or Cotto in his prime. But it is what it is. That's how he chooses to manage his career and make business decisions.
so you agree with me and i agree with you, ok..cheers!

Lol. You just don't want the truth. Clear as day. Old ass Bob Arum even knows the deal.
50 cent even said it. Boxing is his only income. You just have an agenda to portray him as a duck like other pac fans on this board so you're being stubborn.
Money drives all of Floyd Mayweather's career decisions and he fights who he wants, when he wants. And no I'm not defending him I'm criticizing him.

And what if Floyd gets ko'ed the same way? If Guerrero somehow pulls it off haha. Then would he be a finished Hype job? Just because you lose doesn't make you a hype job lmaoWhen does Floyd get hit clean enough to be completely jaw shatteringly KTFO? I can see him being stopped for sure, like that though? You gotta be reckless and stupid to be put out like Pac was. Everything Pac has done since about '09 has been a joke, before that he was a beast though.
Is Pacquiao awake yet or is he still laying motionless on the canvas after being KTFO by his arch rival?
Pacquiao gonna get Pacquiao'd again. That hypejob is finished. 100% done. Floyd was famous years before Manny and he is still on top after Manny.
Floyd>JMM>Pac. Deal with it.

He retired when the division was hot.. fought once a year when Pacquaio became king.. and now that pacquaio is gone and only martinez is left, he signs a six fight deal with showtime... How do you go from retirement to six fights in 30 months...
*sniff* *sniff*
what's that cooking?
It smells like someone is roasting duck.
Maybe Pacquiao will have an amazing comeback and be better than ever with some new style lmao. And I very very highly doubt floyd will fight Martinez even when he's like 41. And sadly Martinez said he will retire soon

Some of you guys are Jokers/fools, anyone who thinks Floyd will fight 6 times in the nest 30 month's are fools, same goes for the thought of there is nobody left in the division to fight. There are a lot of fighters out their coming up thru the ranks and one will someday topple Floyd just like the past up and comers have conquered all the other all time greats of the past.
Go down the list of greats and see who beat them in the end, just so some as*hole can come on here and say, well where were you when he was in his prime, he would have knocked you out in his prime.
I'll tell you where they were, they were young in some dingy gym building them self up for this moment, they can't help that the old fighters stuck around to long trying to hold on to a belt.
It happens to almost everyone of them and the list will continue to grow.
I'm sure there are more that have retired undefeated then I know of, but I can only think of two famous champions right now who have done it.
Marciano and Calzaghe (sic)
It certainly looks like it. No excuse for being as inactive as he has been and you can almost be sure he wont take on anyone that threatening between now and the day he hangs them up.
Pac fans have amazed me though, I thought they were only on the Pac bandwagon because he was on top of the boxing world...but even flat on his face they are still here creating drama to make his arch enemy Floyd look bad.
