And if he doesn't, will you take a knee?
I think the thread starter should take a knee, of course canelo will affect the PPV buys.
And if he does, will you guys quit on your stools?
With Cotto losing, Pac getting KO'ed, The Klits fighting overseas, I could see Floyd picking up some new consumers.
If Pacquiao didn't affect Floyds numbers, how dafuq is Canelo make a "significant" difference, let's be real guys.

Problem here is these casuals who buy big ppv events don't know who guerrero is. Its not a household name in boxing that casuals fans associate with. And as for the floyd/Ortiz ppv #'s, it did not do 1.25mil like shaefer claimed it did. Many inside sources claimed that the fight did around 600k buys. HBO never even released the #'s for that fight.
what inside sources

Nobody aint buying the Mayweather fight now, nobody and I mean nobody wants to see him fight Guerrero, the paying public wants to see him fight PAC, Martinez and Canelo, now without Canelo on the undercard the casual and some Hardcore Mexicans fans will only watch the Canelo fight, April 20 just became the real 5 de Mayo, Mexicans don't like how Mayweather fights, Mayweather just **** himself in the ass lol.

4 big names: Mayweather, Cotto (3rd biggest PPV draw at the time), Canelo, Mosley did 1.5 (May 5, 2012)
And you expect Mayweather vs Guerrero who is virtually unknown to do as big? It wasn't even going to do 1.5 with Canelo-Trout still on it, and now that it's off it won't even break 1 mil.
I agree with others posters saying you should take a knee.
Ok then. Let's bet accounts. If it does 1 million or over your useless account is mine. if it doesn't my account is yours. To accept just sig it.
whatever PPV number's Floyd gets in May, those numbers will have been significantly greater if Canelo was on the card, especially on Cinco De Mayo weekend.
what? are you serious.....
Mayweather vs Ortiz did over a million buys... and the casual fan had no idea who Ortiz was.
Mayweather/Ortiz was peppered with Mexican stars, or fighters familiar with Mexicans. There was Vargas, Lopez, Morales, Canelo, etc.
It does and will effect the ppv #'s simply because many fans felt like they would be getting their money's worth by having Canelo Co headline along with Floyd. By not having the Canelo vs trout fight on the same card lessens the value of the ppv. Truth be told, the Canelo trout fight is a much more intriguing fight than Floyd/Guerrero where as the Canelo fight is a pickem fight while Floyd would be a heavy favorite going into his fight against a fighter who is unknown to the casual fan base.

PPV's have always been focused on casual fans... and even non-boxing fans know who Mayweather is, know he can be a douche..and will buy the PPV in hopes he gets hurt/loses.
Doesnt matter who his opponent is.

Floyd could fight anyone and break records.
Not like people ARENT going to buy the PPV now that Canelo isnt on it....when are fighters (and promoters) goign to learn you NEVER EVER have the upper hand when negotiating with Mayweather..
I don't think Canelo affected Mayweather's previous PPV buys that much, but I think Canelo is a ton more popular now it's definitely a huge factor now.
