I know it is wrong for all latinos to call asian, chino, but it is not trying to be racist like Rachel interpreted it.
Also, I'm not cuban, but Rigo use of Chivaton in that context does not translate to snitch. It seems like he is telling Nonito that he talks and lies too much.
It's not just the fact that he called a japanese Chino, it's the fact that he said "he couldn't see" because of the slanted eyes. Now that's racist.
no it isnt!!!! quite a few african ethnic tribal groups has slanted eyes

Well instead of a lucrative fight against a mexican fighter in Mares, whose style would have created excitement, Donaire has to settle for a lesser known cuban fighter (with a worse resume) who is ultra defensive and will produce a dull fight win or lose.
Actually, the only "ultra-defensive" version of Rigo you ever saw was in the second half of the Cordoba fight. We all know Guille is a counter-puncher by nature, but he's usually fairly active. I would describe Rigo as being economical and precise. These aren't euphemisms, by the way; Guillermo is entertaining to watch if you can appreciate a certain style.
Donaire was grandstanding this issue so much one would almost have to think he was looking for a last minute excuse to break the fight. Perhaps he wasn't aware of how he made that look. Perhaps he didn't care and he wanted out that bad.
He'll win the fight IMO, but I'm sure he's very uneasy about it.

I never really looked at it that way, to be honest. I'm usually skeptical of "ducking" claims, but you're right. The thing that first got me raised was Rachel Donaire's claim that the signature on the VADA paperwork wasn't Rigo's. There's video evidence that Guillermo in fact signed the paperwork, and Arum has stated he saw Rigo sign. Why would anyone in the Donaire camp make such a claim?

lol If Rigo wins, the guy won't be back. It'll be like a two-fer. lol
like in paneldeboxeo when juanma lost most of the puerto rican users that always talked about how juanma was so many levels above gamboa disappeared for a month lol some never came back
Fun while it lasted. Hopefully only a month. That will put us a week or two away from the fight. The Lolz will commence.

He got banned. You see it under his username. I don't know how long it's for.

Thats what I'm saying, now that hes in America he cant use that word anymore. He would get mad if people called him Black because lots of Black Hispanics are ashamed their Black and prefer to be called Hispanic. That is why he shaves his hair, he probably tells people he's native indian.
Can someone get Marcos "el chino" Maidana on the line ?

Are you trolling or just truly that dumb
Nonito is already into Rigo's head if he's taking the time to take actual video of his drug testing. Nonito is great at mind games and will mentally be stronger than Rigo in the ring.
As the spanish saying says, you are trying to cover the sun with one finger and it's just not working out. In your mind rigo will be weaker even though he barely ahs to lose any weight, now this? If anything Nonito is the one that has been threatening to pull out every 2 seconds because of mind games, so its obiously affecting him more than rigo
Rigo knew exactly what he was saying and it's a fact he made 2 racist comments towards Asians.
This right here tells me that you don't know what you're talking about. I can't speak for the "blind guy" comment Rigo made; I honestly don't know what the hell he meant. But the "Chino" word Rigo used is not racist. Right or not, in Latino countries, at least in the Caribbean (Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico), the word "Chino" is commonly used to refer to all Asians. You might say that it's the equivalent of the word "Oriental," which is frowned upon nowadays. Political correctness has not caught on in Latino countries the way it has in the U.S.
LOL you can't be serious.:pat:
I'm deadly serious. Do you speak Spanish? Unless you speak the language, understand the inflections and culture, it's impossible to truly know with certainty what Rigo truly meant. Beyond that, you'd be assuming Guillermo's meaning based on your own perceptions, which may be far removed from Rigo's intent.
