Guerrero is a +700 underdog.
Guess the bookies feel the same way as some people here
For those interested, here's how you calculate it if you don't know how.

Actually I don't, I am real patient and usually bet when I think the odds are nicely in my favor.
I used to bet way more often and learned some hard lessons, but those lessons allow me to make much more than I lose currently.
This^^^^^^^^ Hard lessons learned on my end lol
Dont bet wit emotion is the first step lol
You definitely know your stuff. You usually bet on the under dog, or the favorite?
Well in terms of money I bet more on favorites, because I bet big when a favorite is not as big a favorite as they should be. That doesn't happen all that often though.
In terms of number of bets I bet on more underdogs
Online. My buddy showed me a few sites, but they charge you 50 up front. Then some other things that look risky. Something about picking up your money at a Western Union within 24 hours. I don't fully trust that.
I use 5dimes... lots of options and pretty reliable.
What you're talking about is the deposit method. Minimum 100 bucks and fairly speedy.
Nice. Thanks for teaching me the basics. Do you bet on most big fights?

True. Wouldn't be fun betting on Floyd. You'd have to put down a good amount to even make it worth while.
It never is. If Canelo gets past trout, you might get Floyd at -400 or -300.
Ok. Now i definitely get it. So bet when the lines are looking as profitable as you think they'll be?
Exactly, although it is hard to predict the exact right moment to bet it takes a long time to get that sort of feel.
LOL. I get it now. Don't mind me. I'm a complete noob to sports betting.
My advice...read up on what you're doing before you bet.
Don't want to make any mistakes and lose your money.
You planning on vegas or online?
Ok, I get it now. Lines change as the best are coming in. So, I wouldn't necessarily be making what I think I'd be making. It could change in an instant.
I see now. Thanks for the lesson.
No once you make your bet with ticket in hand. The casino or sports book has to honor the amount promised for the wager you made regardless of the line change. On the flip side your odds might have gotten better (more money ) and you wouldn't be entitled to it. I would think if your gonna take guererro you do it now +700 will entice a lot of people to put action on him, thus lowering your odds the longer you wait. If your looking to bet Floyd I would wait to the last possible minute to try and see if you get better odds.

Not exactly, you lock it in when you bet that is why it pays to pay attention to lines over time because you can get a better number if you bet at different times thus getting more bang for the buck.
Once you bet though your number is set.
lol Just because the win would be profitable doesnt mean you take it..... You dont throw money away just because lol
Garcia gonna get his ass kicked ...... We call these sucker bets lol
save your money bro lol
That is true also, but it all depends on how you feel about Guerrero's chances.
If you think Guerrero has a 1/100, no matter what number he gets it is a sucker bet because it might look good but the odds are poor. However if you think Guerrero has a 20% chance +700 is pretty inviting.
No. Your bet will not change as the lines do. You keep the odds that were set at the time of your bet.

True. At those odds, it would be too hard to pass up on Guerrero.

No, they are two entirely separate bets.
If you bet on Floyd to win and he's at -1000, you'd put down $1000 to win $100. If Floyd lost, you lose the $1000 you put down.
If you bet on Ghost to win and he's at +700, you'd put down $100 to win $700. If Ghost lost, you lose the $100 you put down.
The oddsmakers will shift the lines according to where the money goes. Vegas does not look to make a killing and neither does it risk getting killed. If a ton of money is being wagered on Floyd to win, Vegas will raise the payout on Ghost to balance the sheets.
So basically, Vegas isn't gonna make it lop sided for Floyd, in case Guerrero wins?
Edit: Oh, so if you bet 100 down on Guerrero, you'd be making 1000? Does it work that way? Since Floyd would be at -1000, then Guerrero would be +1000 right?

Sports book make money on action, they don't care who wins. They set the line so money comes in equally on both sides thus leaving them with no risk and they take a small amount for taking the bet (the vig).
So as money comes in on the fight, the bookies will adjust the odds to even out how the bets are coming in.
It is never that neat especially on wide odds, because the incentives to win on an underdog doesn't need to be as high as the disincentive to bet on the favorite.
That's a good ass deal though. I'd probably put down $300 on Guerrero.
IMO... watch the line movement... see how it goes if you're planning on taking Guerrero.
Wouldn't be surprised.....but +700 isn't really good enough for rigging a fight.
The line almost can't be big enough to rig a fight like this because any bets or sums large enough to make it worthwhile will raise huge suspicions.
That is the plus side of huge money being involved in the sport, but the downside would be there are people not getting paid much who can directly effect the outcome of a fight.
