Big news: Source tells me @FloydMayweather-@GHOSTBOXING is on & get this: @SHOSPORTS got the PPV rights. Story on @CSNAuthentic soon #boxing

Ellerbe told me @FloydMayweather has signed with @SHOsports / CBS. He's leaving @HBOboxing. Wow. #boxing
Let's hope so because the line up showed after the Broner fight was a joke outside of a few fights.
Man, I haven't been this happy in a while. SHowtime already has been putting on better fights and can benefit from the floyd addition. CBS is back in the mix.
But I really want to see HBO get back to making boxing cards that mean something. I mean a WCB with a budget near $2 mil. Imagine what they can do at 140? 122/126?
Fact is floyd/bhop/manny/jmm/cotto era is closing. lets start a new era by focusing more on the fights and not necessarily the fighters.
I find it to be a lot better. 24/7 is repetitive as **** and is laden with mawkish sentimentality. Their closing montages are the only thing they do really well and even those have been pretty mediocre lately. Cotto-Trout ep.2 was better than anything 24/7 have done in years.
Yup 360 is better than 24/7 at this point
You guys think Showtime will bring back the super-6 kind of hype shows for this? I would love that. Seeing a more toned down approach rather than the larger than life 24/7 production.
interesting......maybe goldenboy will move all of its fights to sho....
interesting enough arum made some vile comments about showtime could this be anothe vs type thing?

i think this is a great move for HBO. they will have money available to put on better quality fights year around.

I'm very surprised HBO let this happen, it sheds a very different light on the whole 'no one's going to tell me who to fight' talk. Maybe HBO wanted Mayweather to take more risks?
Or they offered him something he couldn't turn down? Money talks with him you know that.
And he's still fighting Guerrero and Canelo's last fight was on Showtime.
I'm not sure how it works, but maybe HBO didn't want to pay Mayweather what he wanted. Lets face it, he won't be around much longer.

HBO would certainly want this fight. It probably has more to do with Al Haymons close relationship with Showtime.
Haymon has huge influence at HBO. Most of the GBP cards on HBO involve his fighters.
Kinda hypocritical but I hope Showtime doesn't drop the ball with this like they did with Manny.
I'd like to see them promoting this during March Madness, The Masters, 60 minutes, David Letterman and any other avenues they can find.
come on dude that was then-this is now. although I find it odd he would go to showtime. But yet it was a big deal for the Floyd dick riders who said that Pac was a traitor to HBO back in 2011?

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. = HYPOCRITE
Remember this shit?

"You know what I'm going to be doing Saturday night? Saturday night, I'm going to be watching Lady Gaga on HBO, the best network in the world. I want everybody to tune in and watch Lady Gaga. She's on the biggest and best network, HBO."
And no, it doesn't matter if Floyd did it for business because Pacquiao left HBO for business as well and Floyd ripped him for it.
This is business and money talks. Like you would stay with HBO just for not being called an hypocrite. The highest bidder gets the fight.

lol Pacquiao didnt leave by choice, HBO didn't want that POS Pa-Mosley fight.HBO wanted the fight, Ross Greenburg didn't and he got forced out for it.
Once again, Floyd is a hypocrite.
I'm just surprised we won't be seeing a Floyd 24-7, I know Showtime has their version of it, 360 or something, but it never felt as good as 24-7 to me.
I've always found their 360 series to be refreshingly good...not a whole lot of narration instead they let the boxers tell their story...I also feel floyd has been on 24/7 so many times that their last 3 series lacked innovation. the way they put the scope on the strained relationship with his dad and his friendly relationship with 50 cent never intrigued me
ken hershman must be kicking himself to the head right now...on the bright side I hope hbo will get a wake up call and televise more fights...hopefully they'll put pressure on top rank to end their feud with gbp now
