Canelo: Fighting Austin Trout May 4; The Big Fight for September

I think we all know that if Canelo beats Trout, IF Canelo beats Trout, he's fighting Floyd in September most likely.

Already signed? What about if Floyd gets cut or roughed up against Guerrero - I can't see him blasting him out in 3rds, that might be a dragged out fight. Should I be worried that Floyd will not even fight on May 4th? Drop the bomb already and announce the fight please, people are booking flights and sh*T don't mess with them. Chances of Floyd not fighting on Cinco de Mayo are slim to none. It's the biggest PPV date of the year.

I say Canelo will get $1.5 to $2 million for the Trout fight. Alexander will be lucky to get past Kell Brook in my opinion. He's not fighting Floyd in September.

Well, didn't he want a promised Mayweather fight before he signed to fight Trout? That's what was holding up the fight. Now the Trout fight is signed, and he says this. Put two and two together and it's pretty believable that if he beats Trout, we get Canelo-Mayweather in September. And if he beats Trout , that means its going to big Canelo vs Floyd .

canelo might be the next chavez, jr. after he gets exposed by trout, he's stock hits rock bottom and whatever influence he had would plummet

And Arum is looking to make Pacquiao vs. Marquez 5 on that same September date. There's too much uncertainty to worry about this right now. Arum hopes that Mayweather-Alvarez doesn't go on that date because he knows he would have to push back.

This is the exact reason I booked flights for May 4th. I'm not taking a risk on September especially since Mayweather is not exactly known to fight regularly. And Arum is looking to make Pacquiao vs. Marquez 5 on that same September date. There's too much uncertainty to worry about this right now.

to me.. canelo is severely underated bc of his string of lack competition.. but i see his skillset through the bull****. he's a beast which a lot of casual boxing fans wont be able to embrace until he ktfo of trout in may.. with that said, mayweather s gna pull what he did w pac, he wouldnt be stupid enough to fight canelo none the less sign premature paperwork for it. cotto fights canelo next mayweather fights alexander next nd hopefully but unlikely to me, mayweather canelo may 2014 unfortunately, its just the way boxing works Mayweather won't fight Canelo in 2014. I'll see how that goes before I begin to look ahead to who is fighting who in September. This is the exact reason I booked flights for May 4th. I don't think Canelo was holding up the fight with Trout because he was wanting the Floyd fight in his contract. I don't think Floyd made any promise to fight Canelo if he beats Trout.I think he is fighting Trout because he is the best fight possible. I doubt there will ever be a Floyd-Canelo fight but time will tell.

HOw would your mind change about May-Trout if Trout kicks Alv's @ss? If he "kicks his ass" like he did Cotto, which was not an ass kicking by any stretch, I had it 7-5 for Trout, no I would not be sold on Trout. Isn't Canelo the underdog here? He's the inexperienced one at the top level while Trout has two wins over top 10 fighters. A guy who struggles to take out showcase opponents, I don't know how far he'd go. It would be a travesty for the sport if Trout beats Canelo. Canelo is the more exciting, promising, popular, likeable fighter of the two. Even if Mayweather turns in a great performance against Guerrero, if Trout beats Canelo that would be a depressing night for me and for the sport.

May vs Devon in Sept.

I don't know why i'm not too excited about Mayweather fighting Trout, I guess it's because of his performances against Rodriguez and Cotto, just not sold on the guy. I'm more sold on Canelo despite his weak opposition. The thing is Trout against his weak opposition wasn't exactly a world beater, he was decisioning guys with 10, 15, 20 losses. At least Canelo was knocking out and brutalizing the overmatched guys he's been fighting. I doubt Trout knocks out the "Super Featherweight" Josesito Lopez like Canelo did, given his history he'd UD him in a dull fight where he doesn't even look that good in.

I like it... add on to the fact that if he beats Trout than he is indeed proven and the fight with Mayweather makes the most sense in the division.
