Can Trout become a boxing star??Does he have what it takes to move up and beat real MW??Can he even beat Alvarez(I think so)??What are ya thoughts on Trout, how far do you see him going in his career??
i think it is possible but i highly doubt Trout will become a star in Boxing given his personality and fighting style I dont see him getting a big fan base
If you continue winning it will make you a superstar. Floyd really hasn't had exciting fights when you think about it. He's dominated most of his fights and they weren't very entertaining.
Of course he has the personality but winning more than anything is what makes him a star. If Trout wins vs Canelo, it will propel him to another level in boxing and people will take notice.
Could not have said it better myself...
andre ward been winning for awhile now.Yet seems nobody really cares.
What does Ward or his promoter do to raise his stock? No fighter in the history of boxing has ever became a star just by winning. Winning is only part of the equation to becoming a star.

i dont doubt that... but when I mean true star... im talking about his ability to bring in the money... are people ever going to want to pay to see Trout?... and when i say people, I mean the average joe blow...we'll see

ive only seen one trout fight, his most recent vs cotto..if trout beats canelo then i will be a fan and follow him and watch every fight, then if he fights and beats mayweather everyone will know who he is
Canelo would make him look like a running clown. Trout is young, big, has long reach. Yet he's so scared of getting hit by Cotto's left hook. Never seen an opponent of Cotto that scared. Even Malignaggi traded with prime Cotto. Trout was in full survival mode in that fight and was like trying to ward off evil spirits. His goal was not to KO or punish Cotto like most fighters do. He was there just to survive. Cotto, of course, got tired of chasing the runner. Canelo has more milage and speed.
This is a far from accurate analysis...
Trout did more than his fair share of mexican trading in the Cotto fight, he ate some devistating left hooks in that fight.
Canelo barley moves and will have a disadvantage in handspeed.

we're in a new age of boxing im sure those who were deep in the sport back then can see a difference in how fans react to fighters now esp those of different national origins but as many said boxing was popular amongst americans then

To that I can say the more things change the more they stay the same and there is nothing new under the sun! If not everybody agrees and likes the personas of PBF and Broner that means IMO there is an untapped market of fans that just aren't being marketed to. If you dislike ignorance and trash talk its quite possible that those people would like smart, well spoken fighters. Is that not a possiblity? It seems like it is too me yet none of these fighters or their teams has tried it IMO.
I'm sorry bro, but I agree with him. Look at the fanbases that range between Floyd/Broner & Ward/Bradley/Trout & the rest. It's clear as day who has the more fans.
It was almost a shame how the Punisher who traversed 3 weight classes trying to fight the best was hated. Especially when he was mentioned as an opponent for Floyd or Pacman. I don't think I'll ever get over the injustices he went through.
JMO for boxing
I get where yall are coming from but I partially disagree with yall. But I can admit and its extremely sad but yall are partially right. Far to many people give stupidity and ignorance actual respect. But what do Ward, Bradley or Trout actually do to market themselves to black people who don't like the ignorance of PBF and Broner? No fighter has just gotten famous and reached stardom only on what they have done in the ring. Since all black people don't like PBF and Broner's camera act why don't Ward, Bradley and Trout and their promoters put them out there since they are a complete 180 degrees from what PBF and Broner are? But PBF and Broner are smart in that they market themselves to the young and dumb because they can make them believe and consistently buy they BS they are selling.
I think Austin will be a great fighter, but lacks the contraversy and personallity to become a true superstar.... maybe his skills and level of opposition can take him there in the future... we will see.

Im sure Trout beats Canelo.... Canelo is way too stationary to beat a guy who fights like Trout... unlike the Cotto fight, I expect this fight to be a bit one sided... heres why...
Austin Trouts jab will bother Canelo more than it did Cotto, because Canelo is a stationary target who fights straight up as oppose to Cotto who moves quite a bit more, fights low, and has a more diverse offensive attack ...
Canelo is not really an agressive fighter... Hes pretty timid... just look at his fight vs Mosley.... he never really turns it up.. he takes minutes off in rounds... look at his fight vs ryan rhodes.... had Canelo been more agressive he could have stopped Ryan Rhodes... I think this really helps Trout.... i think Trout will be able to pick and choose when he boxes and when he fights... i see trout controlling the pace of the fight... dont let his fight with Josesito Lopez fool you, Lopez was completely overmatched and Canelo knew this. It was nothing more than a glorified showcase fight.
Trout will have a clear handspeed advantage in this fight. Nuff said.
Trout is light years better defnsively.... Canelo is right in front of you and there to be hit... Cotto is better defensively than canelo... i see trout being able to land combinations on canelo once he establishes distance...
I cant see Canelo winning this fight unless he displays an array of new skills that he has yet to show us...
Canelo is a good fighter... im not sold on him being great yet... maybe hes saving his best... we will see.

Are you actually buying that BS dude posted? If so that is a damn shame! So tell how were Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Evander Holyfield, George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Tommy Hearns and many more were "loud and controversial".

trout is just a good boxer. not a good sales pitch.
So you don't put B-HOP on that list of stars??How about PWill??Dude both those fighters(esp B-HOP)are stars..As big of a star as Mosley, the book is still out on Broner, but he has the potential to be a superstar..But he has to keep winning and that's no gimmie...
I ask can Trout become a star, not a Mayweather or Pac(who are National Superstars)..I don't get why people believe Ward is not a draw or not popular either??Dude sold out a few of his fights in Cali..His fight against Froch did well at the gate and his fight against Dawson..I really think if this kid(Trout)keeps winning he's going to be a star...
those who paid to see the fight from abroad?

Is this a blanket statement for all sports regarding black people or just your opinion for boxing?

No tbh he's not a ****y ***** talking thug that people will pay to see lose. that's the only reason a African American becomes a star in this day and age sadly.
