TYSON FURY has KO’d any thoughts of a summer clash with David Price by setting his sights on a world title shot.
A proposed showdown between Britain’s top two heavyweights was due to go to purse bids this week but Tyson’s camp have now decided against it.
Fury’s uncle and trainer, Peter Fury, said: “We’re going in a completely different direction to Price.
“David Price is not on our radar. Tyson is high up in the world rankings and I don’t think Price has earned his shot at him. Click Here To Read More]
I honestly don't believe Fury is ducking price. Fury is a traveller and, let's be honest, fighting is what they do. I think Fury has been calling him out because he does, genuinely, dislike him and does want to fight him. I think it is more to do with his team/Hennessey who see, potentially, how much bigger the fight could be - especially with one or both holding a world title. No point them fighting now when nothing is at steak except pride and being able to calll themselves best heavyweight in Britain (David Haye excluded). Fury has a world title shot in, potentially, three fights time so he won't be fighting Price - yet. Let is build a little...
Fury vs Price. Heavyweight unification fight. Summer 2015. ;)
Well it's business. Calling out a fighter doesn't mean the fight will happen. Spewing puke is normal. Look at this forum. It's fine to say 'duck', it doesn't mean he wouldn't want to fight Price, but at this stage in his career, perhaps it's not the right move.
Yes it is normal. But you shouldn't call someone out if you have no intention of proving yourself in the ring. Fury has been calling Price out since he was British champion. Then Price comes along as the mandatory, and suddenly he's below Fury's level. Now he's ranked #8 by IBF and #9 WBC (i believe) and Fury says he's above him in levels, but chose to fight someone not ranked in the top 15 by any organisation. Listen, Fury gave up his British instead of fighting Price. Those are the facts we have. He would rather fight for the irish title than facing Price. I'm not one to call duck on too many fighters, because I know it's a business and normally a fighters mind doesn't think like that. Almost every fighter believes he can beat anyone. But Fury needs to prove himself against top opponents before claiming to be the best in the world. He hasn't fought anyone but bums so far (exl. Derek Chisora) and until that changes, he's nothing but a fringe contender.
I see a theme... Talk **** about Wlad... dont fight.... talk **** about price..... dont fight
another HW that talks talks and talks about fighters, but wont fight them when the chance is brought to him
I agree, Fury and Vitali are are stopping two of the biggest fights in the HW division happening.
It's only going to get worse once they do fight, Fury will wind everyone up and come out and put on a patient boxing display, beat him up inside on occasion, and cruise to a decision win.
Maybe I will change how I feel after this Thompson fight, it's a good step up..some similar qualities between Thompson and Fury, save for the stances, speed, and slow footwork of Thompson. It's more about the fluid combination punching, inside work, and D that will be good see Price against. I think they should fight now and later on, I think both will be around for a while.

Oh, I suppose that makes it ok then?...Talk an overabundance of sh#t and back down, with the same old excuses trawled out. Just in case anyone can put two and two together, and actually question Fury's motives. It's nothing more than a blatant duck!

I've always liked Fury due to the entertainment he brings to his fights with his antics etc but this blatant ducking of Price is hard to defend.
Step up Fury and take the fight..
Classic case of "Wait until others lose, retire and take it slow until you're considered the best."
Fury and Co. are biding their time until Wlad and Vitali are gone (retired, defeated, injured), up and comers lose to denounce their credibility, and just feast on journeymen/old fighters, win an alphabet title until you can claim to be the only name fighter to not have suffered a major defeat and call yourself the top HW.
Sometimes it just happens be default...it doesn't seem like fighters "take it" anymore...that means real dedication and effort to leave it all in the ring..something Arreola and Haye failed at...
The last fighter I remember REALLY trying to "take the throne" was Vitali vs Lennox Lewis..he had the face and wind to show for it
Tyson Fury is, pure and simple, a buffoon!!!!!
He is a bum and any world class heavyweight knocks him clean out.
He always has a punchers chance as he is heavy handed but as soon as he steps up he gets destroyed. Price mangles him early IMO
It looks like Fury really is ducking Price.
:lame:
He admitted it previously. From 28.30

He promotes himself, that's what all the calling out is about. Business strategy. Fury was never confident of beating Price, and the loss would hamper his career path. Pretty simple, really.

No doubt that this is a great fight that everyone wants to see, however I think its a good call to wait until both guys are bigger names before they face off. This fight has huge marketing potential, and a long-standing rivalry like this won't lose its appeal as long as both fighters continue in their current form. I think Fury knows this, and Price probably does as well, however now that Fury has been open about his not wanting the fight right now all Price has to do is continue to call him out, knowing full well that a fight at a later date is better for both financially, and that his constantly challenging Fury only builds the hype for a fight that will eventually happen anyways. Both guys know they will fight each other, its just a show for now....
How was I ever a fan of this guy? Ugghhh
Anyways its further proof that Price is a top 3 Heavyweight if this many people are ducking him. No oe wants to get in the ring with that 6'8 moster.
