Trout by decision. Longer, faster, southpaw. Canelo has the power advantage, but his endurance/stamina is questionable and he isn't agile. I expect Trout to keep it in the middle of the ring, fight off the jab, while Canelo tries to counter-punch. If that doesn't work for Canelo, then he'll start to pressure, but he doesn't have the attributes or the skills to successfully pressure a guy like Trout.
Unbelievable how many people are picking Canelo and talking about him catching and KOing Trout. Canelo can't cut the ring off and his power is vastly overrated. When have you seen Canelo KO anyone of relevance? Hell he couldnt even drop old Mosley which Paquiao did. And took him 7 rounds to finish little Josesito.

Canelo by TKO.
I would like to know what Trout would do when Canelo catches up to him in a corner or the ropes? He's not going to hurt Canelo. Canelo will not respect his power, Trout will not be able to keep him off. Alvarez will slaughter this guy, he only beat Cotto 7-5 IMO, not those wide scores they gave him.
When have you seen ginger cut the ring of. He moves in straight lines, has no head movement, horrible defense & no stamina. You must have forgotten that ginger got rocked by a career lightweight. I guess when you ko jr welterweights, bums & some old men, that means you'll also ko bigger real jr middleweights.
How tall is ginger?? 5-7 at most. Trout is like 5-11 not 5-9 like his record says. He'll keep ginger in the middle of the ring & use his face for target practice cause ginger won't move his head a lick. And when he realizes he's fighting someone his size, or (weightclass) & cannot hurt him, he'll panic & get totally embarrassed.
I got Canelo beating Trout by decision in this fight. A lot of people are all high on Trout right now because he beat Cotto. Which I think Canelo would have beat Cotto as well. I would like to see this fight but not on May 4th this fight should be a Main event on a differant date. Canelo is a big star and should headline his own events. He shouldn't be fighting on Mayweather undercards. He should be giving GBP hell for doing so. No matter how much they pay him. You don't see Chavez Jr fighting on Pac's undercards.
ginger needs to fight somebody worthy already ...hell , we've seen junior fight one of the best p4p fighters ..it's canelos turn to fight atleast a decent fighter in trout....cut the " but he's only 23 years old " BS already , theyve been saying that for years now...
And no, Trout is nothing like Mayweather. Mayweather has no business at 154 and even he buckled Cotto twice. Trout is also in his first weight class ever, JMW, while that is Mayweather's 5th. Mayweather showed tremendous power in his first weight class.
I can not imagine Trout being competitive even in, let's say a 3rd weight class like 168. I think the guys up there would literally feel like Trout is hitting them with pillows, like literally. 160 is so weak I can actually see Trout being competitive up there with his boxing ability, but would definitely not put fear in any one's chin. I could honestly see Trout as a testing the waters fight for Amir Khan if he ever makes his way to 154.
Its funny to me when people assume because trout is a pure boxer that he's feather fisted. You think a 154lb trout doesn't hit harder than cotto's little brother? Trout is like mayweather in a sense, they both have respectable power, but that's not the hallmark of their approach to a fight. They don't have one punch KO power, but more an accumalation of punches. Not to mention trout throws the most jabs per round in that weight class. Eating jabs every round will catch up to you, and we all can admit canelo isn't a defensive specialist...
Austin Trout is featherfisted.
Who the F are Shawn Garnett, Rigoberto Alvarez, David Alfonso Lopez, Nilson Julio Tapia, Teronze Washington, Marcos Primera, and what is Austin "The Accumulation Puncher" Trout doing decisioning this level of fighters?

I think you're the 1st ginger fan to keep it 100 bro. I can't even hate, rock on!!:headbang:Thanks, Bushbaby. If the fight comes off I'll get with you and make the smallest point bet you allow. I have never bet points but all my points were a gift from another poster so I must be careful with them.
Trout is only 5‘9?
I thought he was atleast 5'11.
But this is a 50/50 fight. Canelo is more brute with his combinations, and Trout is more elusive with his.
Either Canelo will walk him down and whoop him or Trout will make Canelo look stupid en route to a UD victory.
Its an amazing fight.
Trout by easy UD, (Canelo can't cuttoff the ring better than an "old cotto") one thing that pisses me off is that people say Cotto is shot because he lost to mayweather (a fighter no one has ever beat) and trout (a guy who also has never been beat with a similar boxing style as mayweather but only bigger). Essentially to me Cotto lost his last two fights to the same type of fighter as far as how they approach fights (only difference being that mayweather is a house hold name and trout is a virtual unknown but they both are pure boxing counterpunchers), and the attributes that mayweather has that trout doesn't have, Trout makes up for in size and strength. If you don't believe me then why did mayweather say cotto was his toughest fight ever, while it seemed like another day at the office for Trout? The same trout that everyone says sucks made a hall of famer look silly. That being said, i'm not a Cotto fan, but I feel calling Cotto "shot" is disrespecting trout's victory, and I personally think that if Cotto will put in the work to make 147 he gives anyone hell (besides pacman, and mayweather) I think he and marquez would be a great fight btw. Feel free to bash my thoughts
Alvarez by UD. That's all he can do. You can't KO a fast runner like Trout no matter what you do. No doubt the ginger kid would make Trout look like a scared chicken.
I voted Canelo by KO. I am a big Canelo fan and I believe in his skills, speed, power, and accurate combinations. He is a smart, game fighter who trains hard and is dedicated and determined. He has been fighting pro since he was 15 years old. He has a great killer instinct and if he hurts a guy he tries to finish them. I think Trout is a very good fighter but not good enough to win this fight. I don't care if Canelo has never fought anyone but midgets and bums, I am still picking him to KO Trout and beat any 154 pounder in the world.

And in Delvin beat who? Anyone of real relevance? I don't think so, and the fact when he did beat people it was usually smaller opponents. Delvin was 6 foot and fighting at welterweight and light middle! Please... Dude record is 26-5, Gomez has had better opposition in his weak career.
Are you sure that's how you wanna begin your defense bro??
A prime Delvin Rodriguez is better than any jr welterweight, bum, or shot fighter ginger has faced.
