Richard Scahefer recently said this in reference to Floyd's next fight:
"I have absolutely no awareness of any negotiations taking place with a fighter who is under a promotional contact with us. And Al Haymon, who is the advisor for Devon Alexander and Floyd Mayweather as well, has not confided to me either that there would be any negotiations going on unbeknownst to me."
Isn't Guerrero with Golden Boy? If Schaefer is telling the truth and there isn't any shady stuff going on behind his back, sounds to me like The Ghost WILL NOT be fighting Floyd on May 4. So who the heck could it be then?
Surely you must see how disingenuous those comparisons are? Martinez is widely regarded as being a natural 154lb fighter. Mayweather holds two 154lb belts. That state of affairs does not apply to a single one of the examples you listed.
You're right, the state of affairs doesn't apply for my examples. It's even worse in the case of Floyd since 154 lbs is his 5th division and now people want him to fight the middleweight champ.
In none of my examples fighters were coming from so low in weight.
lol, nightmare about Martinez. For god sake Martinez is TWO division above Floyd. Only Floyd is held as such high standards.
You will never hear :
- Hopkins has nightmares about Vitali Klitschko
- Martinez has nightmares about Hopkins
- Salvarez has nightmares about Ward
-Gamboa has nightmares about Garcia
-Garcia has nightmares about Alvarez
But when it's about Mayweather, damn then the guy has to fight the p4p number3 two divisions above him or he's a coward

it better be pac, gerrero or martinez. Martinez has an opponent and mayweather had nightmares about martinez and we know it aint pac so it better damn well be guerrero

Quick of you to spot it. But Schaeffer habitually over-reaches himself in his tirades against Top Rank. Common-sense seems to suddenly make itself "aint". It's as if he just now came to boxing and shallowly believed that all there was to it was to make outrageous and dubious statements.
He is talking about Alexander only and you misunderstood him. He knows who Floyd's opponent will probably be and he stated quite clearly that Alexander is fighting Brook. He wants Floyd to announce the fight when he is ready and the contracts are signed. I think it will be Guerrero.
