1-Guerrero-ya'll sh1tted on that even tho its his mandatory
2-Alexander-ya'll sh1tted on this to although he is the IBF champion and a 2 division champion
so damn who do you want him to fight at 147???
Floyd beat Oscar, Hatton, Marquez, and was supposed to bite up Pacman as well....so you have the biggest bases in the sport ganging up on one dude...Floyd is a WW...he's at his BEST at WW....these ppl know this..EVERYBODY knows this!!!...he's not at his best above 147 so why would anybody wanna see him fight at any other weight?!?....him losing above 147 doesn't have the same credit attached if he was to drop one at his BEST weight
atm, nobody can beat him....some naturally bigger dudes in the upper weight classes seems to be the choice of opponent for Floyd by fans who are dying to see him come up short for just once :lol1:
noone at '47 can beat Floyd....NOONE!!!
This is what makes me laugh about Floyd fans. They say that "Floyd is at his best at 147 so why should he fight at 154". Even though he has a title at 154 and fought several times there now .... but the real funny part in all this is that they realize this about Floyd but NEVER EVER say that about any of Floyd's opponents.
- Was Marquez at his best at WW when he fought Floyd?
- Was Hatton at his best at WW when he fought Floyd?
- Was Sharmba at his best at WW when he fought Floyd?
- Did Ortiz hit his full potential when he fought Floyd at WW for ONLY the 2nd time at that weight?
- Guerrero? Alexander? Kahn? ... yet were/are looked at seriously by Floyd and company.
Go ahead Floyd fans, ask for an easier fight and you shall receive!!! lol! Can't you guys for once say "Floyd, time to step it up, man!!!"
all top rank fighters man
and
1-Manny just went 0-2 in 2012 and got sparked out
2-Jmm really???he already dominated him 4 years ago and got 0 credit for it
Floyd will never fight Pacquiao. Your coward boy is a loose p*u*s*s*y who cherry pick his easy opponents then sell to his gullible fans.
Does this apply to whoever you think is the best boxer in the world? Or does he get to fight a string of fights against guys who are 4-1 underdogs but have more name value than the 4-1 underdogs floyd fights?
So manny should not fight jmm 5 and fight alexander or guerrero-whoever floyd doesn't- then 3 months later fight the other, then in 6 mos floyd. Right?
Look at Pacs resume or last 5 fights or so. He is fighting every 6 months or so, JMM, bradley and JMM again. Great fighters back to back on a regular basis. Floyd wants to fight alexander types and then take a year off or even longer? No thats why if Floyd is the best fighter hes got to mix in his own circles. The Sergios, Canelos, Pacs, Bradleys of this world he has to fight back to back regularly.
Alexander isnt the best in the world regardless whether he is a champ now or not. Alexander hasnt developed a reputation for being especially dangerous opponent, or hasnt shook up the world of boxing in anyway shape or form, unlike Bradley who beat Pac, or Canelo who has developed a formidable reputation whether people think he has fought great fighters or not or Trout who looks pretty impressive
The only reason Floyd would be fighting alexander types as that is the level Floyd is at, and i think it is, mixing in his own circles.

Since you care about what we want we'd like to see you stop being the #1 floyd dick rider on planet earth for once in your life groupie...
You hate on boxingscene posters extra hard calling them haters and acting like floyd is your lover
Look youve got to look at the bigger picture and understand the reasons people ***** on FLoyd. He is supposed to be the best boxer in the world, and hes supposedly not boxing on much longer.
We dont mind if he fights Alexander, so long as 3 months later he fights Guerrerro. If he beats Guerro then he can fight Pac 6 months later. I think you see what im getting at, you have to fight everyone, all potential challengers if you are a proffesional boxer.
If he fights Alexander at the expense of fighting Sergio or Canelo thats why he is being criticised for his potential opponents. He fights so little and irregularly the Alexanders of this world wont cut it for supposedly the best boxer in the world.
I personally think Alexander would test Floyd, but that is cos i dont rate Floyd as highly as others do, but if theoretically lets pretend Floyd really is the best boxer, then fighting Alexander dont cut it for someone weve lavished praise as the best fighter on.
But your damn right no one wants to see Floyd fight Alexander, and then wait another year or so for his next fight. If people have to wait a year or so for his next fight Guerrero wont cut it as well.

people kept mentioning trout......floyd ain't fighting at 154 unless there's some money up there(cotto/dlh/canelo all money fights).....trout is good but he should fight canelo to make a case.....even he knows that....thats why you don't really hear him calling out floyd. do people really think floyd would go out of his comfort zone for less money?
Floyd won't make any less fighting Trout than he would anyone not named ginger.
But I never argued for Alexander over the Ghost. All I'm saying is Devon isn't that damn bad.
In fact right now, there is no reasonable argument to have him lower than Marquez or Pacman as a Floyd opponent.
Fair enough, i'm just not too sold on Alexander's welterweight run thats all.
Floyd-Trout would be good...
I just want him to fight someone decent in May and then finally (been saying this for 100 years it feels like) face Pacquiao in Sept after Pac beats up a tune up at some point in the Spring.
I don't really want to see him at 154 - he doesn't look right there
Its okay buddy, we don't have to agree on everything :boxing:
Whilst I respect your view on Alexander, I'm not totally sold on him at Welterweight. Had he beaten Brook, maybe i'd agree. Whereas Guerrero has cemented himself as a Welterweight. In the public's eyes, and possibly most on here, Guerrero has a much better chance of winning, and therefore is a better challenge for Floyd. It makes it worse, knowing Guerrero was the natural opponent for him, being Floyd mandatory, he's currently hot at Welterweight and is a multi-division champion. On top of that, a 24/7 series on Guerrero would catch the publics hearts and minds - knowing his struggle with his wifes cancer. I just can't see any argument for Alexander over Guerrero

Now while I usually agree with you, I disagree on Devon. Sure he arguably lost 2 of his last 5 fights, however those were not against chumps. It's imperative to understand that. He's been in there with some of the stiffest comp. Now I believe he'll be an even better welterweight than he was jr welterweight.
Both these guys are young, (the Ghost & Alexander). Floyd fights usually once a year, he's almost 36 & hasn't fought since the 1st half of 2012. It's not inconceivable that a young hungry fighter (with Alexander's experience) can catch him & beat him at this stage of the sport.

Saying that SOME people disliked Guerrero is not an argument for an Alexander fight. What a stupid argument.
I liked a Guerrero fight. He earnt it. Was there a massive outcry over a Floyd-Guerrero fight? No, not at all. Some people complained, but those ppl complain about anything. It was a good tune-up fight, and would be exciting. There was at least a little chance Guerrero could pull it off. I'd argue most people would be fine with the fight.
Now with this Alexander fight, nearly everyone is slamming it, apart from the devoted few. Alexander has no chance whatsoever. The WBC will eventually sanction it, but its bad for the sport. Nearly everyone thinks hes lost 3 of his last 5 fights - you think thats acceptable for the P4P best?

So only two top rank fighters at 147. And so it continues, the only people hed get credit for beating are promoted by Arum.
Hes not big enough to exclusively campaign at 154 you people know that.
So its fair to say Floyd is not the best at 154 currently, and he should be stripped of his title there? The RING has him currently at no.1 there.

The Ghost or Alexander.
1's his mandatory, the other a champ.
Can't be Pacman, he's just waking up from a slumber. Marquez already has Floyd's name tattooed somewhere on his behind & Bradley will never get the fight since arum ruined his career.
So now 'relevance' is the criterion :S
I don't much care for a Clottey fight either, Pacquiao or Bradley were my picks (at 147) but Clottey is a stronger opponent than either Alexander or Guerrero.
Well yes, of course it is. It's not the criterion but an important piece of criteria none the less.
Clottey is irrelevant at 147. He hasn't beaten a ranked fighter at 147 since when? He's not ranked at 147.
He is irrelevant in general. Hasn't beaten anyone, at any weight, in years.
A fight between him and Mayweather now? :lol1: What an obvious joke that would be.
