I think Maidana is a better fighter than Aydin, but Aydin was ranked higher. Bailey had just beat Jones for the IBF belt, and Berto was inactive due to injury. Alexander moved up one weight-class, while Ghost moved up two weight-classes.
I think they are about even.
Guerrero because he beat his opponents in 12 rd bouts...I think Guerrero has the better opponents, but Alexander holds a belt...It's hard but I have to give the edge to Guerrero just cause all his bouts were 12 rds,and more young fighters...
Funny how this coward Mayweather retired when the WW division was loaded with real welterweight champions.
Now that the WW chumpions are names like Guerrero,Berto,Devon Alexander, he wants to fight them.
ok and the berto that fought robert wasnt the same berto, came out tryna fight like broner... we can sit here and make excuses on both ends
at the end of the day maidana and bailey are better names to have on ya resume than aydin? wtf and berto
berto would beat that version of maidana and bailey easy too
I was talking about their entire resumes.
At 147 theyre about the same, but I lean slightly towards Devon.

I agree (overall resume) .... but neither has the proven resume, especially at WW, to have you say that they are ready for Floyd. We need to see more of them at WW.
Floyd vs Ortiz(1 fight), Hatton(1 fight), Marquez(0 fight), are examples of what I mean.

Devon has only 2 recent fights at WW.

Yes, where they differentiate is that Devon has fought at 140 many times and Guerrero has not BUT the fight will be fought at WW where NEITHER have much of a resume.
It will be a huge step up from fighting Bailey to fighting Floyd. So realistically, both need to fight some more to show us what they have begfore we can even think of saying or knowing if they are ready for that level of competition at WW.

Anyone looking at their resumes would realize the fact that neither one of them fit the build to be the next guy for Floyd. They still need to prove themselves.

about the same, berto was coming off long layoff and injury, and aydin..ehhh
Maidana was coming up in weight, but that was Alexander's 1st fight at 147 as well, and Bailey ..ehh, but the K.O threat is always there.
How can anybody say Alexander has a better resume?
He has one win against a JWW and another against a guy who throws like 5 punches a round
With that logic Alexander was a Jr welterweight too.

And he still would have beaten the Maidana that fought Alexander. Guerrero wasn't a great fight either, but it's better than Alexander. Because Maidana and Bailey are more recognizable names than Aydin, they're automatically better? I'm looking at their form the night they fought Alexander, which is what is being asked, not name recognition. Bailey was one of the worst WW champs in recent times, Aydin could have beaten him too. Alexander's WW resume is shit.
Correct me if I'm wrong.....
Didn't you say beating Guerrero is the same for May as beating Margarito??? That should hold true for Alexander as well correct???
No. I was basically getting at what had Margarito done to become career defining win for Floyd??? I think Margarito would have been a solid win at that time, a good one. I think Guerrero would be too. Alexander, I don't know. I think it's an okay win. But nothing more really.
I say Guerrero. Bailey is not a good fighter. Neither is Aydin to be fair, but he's better than Bailey.
Berto with all his flaws is a better welter than Maidana.
Most important Guerrero fights > Devon fights when it comes to entertainment.
Anyone here saw Devon - Bailey? Did you watch it again? I doubt it. You would die from boredom.
About equal, but the Guerrero fight is still better than Alexander right now.
