Obviously he got the win, was a little too much for rosado, but imo golovkin was kinda exposed by rosados movement. I see bigger and better fights in rosados future, as the kid seems to be constantly improving.
But yeah, point is...i see Martinez being a little too slick/skilled for golovkin at this point. As we witnessed tonight, golovkin has trouble with movement, which martinez is nonstop, not to mention slick with power.
People are judging him how he fought Rosado he would fight the same way against bigger/stronger middleweight.
I think that's not fair as Gennady knew he can chase Rosado without being too concern of being hurt.
Fair point. Sometimes when guys think they have a walkover in front of them, they go nuts for the KO. Golovkin won every round going away. That's good enough for the night.
He does!
Very good analysys I find.
I don't see this "Monster" power either, and yes, Rosado is a tough kid.
@ Simurgh It's not -just -power, but power is what made the difference, in my opinion.
Rosado is usually way more aggressive, as Byrd said in the video posted above, maybe he'd have done better if he fought in a pocket. Yet, he probably was too respectful of GGG's power to go there and bring the issue.
I also think he doubted he could hurt GGG , that's why I said power made the difference, it's not the -only- factor, but the most relevant in my opinion.
He had some success on the inside, but I think the loss of blood also played a big part in why he just couldn't keep up that strategy. He was also starting to get caught with uppercuts from that distance, so it became futile after that.

Thats golovkins game tho, hes gotta do what ues gotta do. Hes a pressure fighter who comes forward.

Perhaps you also saw golovkin battering the air aswell? Not to mention starting to fatigue?
I did and I still don't see it...who in the hell don't struggle with Slick Fighters, Rosado can be very slippery but GGG was Patient enough to just walk him down and he landed accurate punches despite all of Rosado movements
So no I don't think anything was NEW was "EXPOSED", I do think you have to use a style like Andre Ward's to defeat him...Bernard Hopkins did not teach Rosado about clinching, instead of going backwards and giving GGG the space to time you and to get off with his Power, he should have kept it in the Center of the ring and maybe Circled him then used the clinch to take away his Power
Fans B1tch about Clinching but it works especially against fighter with a lot of "POWER"
I see some Hagler in GGG, his Boxing Skills are underrated and people desperately want to categories him as this Brawler with Power but that is far from what he is, he is a Boxer/Puncher
Gennady still has room for improvements.
He should stick to 160 and go for big names there.
I like the guy.
He is putting his bar higher with every fight. We'll know how good he really is when he starts to properly struggle in the fight.
rosado aint no fkin punk his movement gave GGG some issues and yes i think serg would beat GGG but the dude GGG is pretty good he needs to work on his defense and max kellerman needs to take his personal emotions down just a bit when interviewing
Exposed = using opponents head as a punching bag, and forcing a come first fighter to retreat for the entire fight?
Yeah, we all expected a KO, but it was still a very dominant performance.
Pick a middleweight to beat him, and i'll make a bet with you when that fight happens.
Sure, ill try to keep you in mind should martinez and golovkin square off, assuming martinez isnt 40+ years old by that point. Id also take a bet on a chavez jr fight, not because i think chqvez would win, but because i think it would be a hell of a war

JCCjr wont last 5 rounds with GGG!
I don't know, GGG ate a lot of uppercuts, i think Jr would beat him, plus Jr lost to a master of his craft, GGG is still learning his.
Power made the difference, in my opinion.
It's not even that surprising, considering it was Rosado's first fight at 160 and, if there is something GGG has, it's power.
If you don't have enough power a guy like GGG will eventually get to you, unless you are a defensive wizard, which Rosado is not.
Martinez, unless his age finally shows, has enough power to get GGG's respect, enough skills to outbox and outsmart him. I think he'd look bad against Martinez.
I would tough like to see GGG vs Chavez jr.
I'm not sure GGG could walk trough somebody as big, albeit flawed, as Jr, who also has a very good chin.
Rosado started out at 160...
I thought GGG was patient and stalked his man winning every round and busting him up on the way to the stoppage. Hardly exposed. He never blew me away but he was solid. Huge puncher, great chin and im not seeing how he was gassed...
I would give my left nut to see him in with Alvarez or Chavez and the Martinez
What I saw was Rosado trying to be slick while at the same time running away for most of the first 4-5 rounds until he realized he couldn't win the fight doing this so he started standing his ground throwing punches and was punished for his effort by being stopped in 7.
Give GGG his credit, he fought a scared fighter and it's hard to look good against those types of matchups. If Rosado would've fought more offensive-minded from the start, he would've been stopped in about 3-4 rounds
