Bombs being thrown from the start.
Man this is an overlooked modern day classic. One of the best fights I've had the pleasure of witnessing live!
How on earth nobody went down & this went the distance I will never know.
Fawwwk the Kessler rematch, bring on Froch vs Pascal 2 lol
Great fight..One of the best that year.
I remember watching it, was it on ITV4? (they had a good little run of showing fights a few years back..shame they didn't stick with it).
I was away watching Liverpool play Blackburn that day, got back home off the train just in time to watch the Froch card...then Sky showed Pacquiao Vs De La Hoya later on the same night :boxing:
Froch and Pascal became good friends after the fight didn't they. I remember Froch saying he would return the favour and give Pascal a rematch if he ever went up to LHW.
actually it was calzaghe-manfredo
Is this a joke??That fight was not better then Froch Pascal or Froch Taylor bro..But if you are serious,I don't agree but to each their own bro...
It was a brilliant fight and it was great that it was on ITV (I think). It's a shame they stopped showing fights really.
Great war and I forget how many flush shots each guy was taking, how both guys managed the full 12 is incredible.
Would love this fight again if Froch moved up and then proceed to beat brakes off of that pretender Cleverly.
Has there been a better SMW fight since??I'm finding it hard to think of one..Hell the only one I would put close to it would be Froch vs Kessler or Froch vs Taylor..But one things for sure, the best SMW fight in the past 10 yrs has been with Froch as one of the participant...

Great fight! I remember watching and asking my brother and our friends if they had seen it. They missed out it was a great fight. I dont think they even knew who pascal and froch were at the time
very underrated. those were some serious bombs both froch and pascal were throwing
you were there?
nice.
i was at froch vs taylor. ringside. the atmosphere in the 12th round was something i'm never going to forget.
that was a great fight too. kinda suck for me to see taylor come so close to the finish line but still a great fight :boxing:

It was a fantastic tear-up. It shows how far Froch's profile has risen, as that night there was a big Frank Warren card on skysports that got almost all the media attention. Many boxing fans were treated to a feast of Enzo Mac, Audley, Jamie Cox and a pre-Prescott Amir Khan, blissfully unaware that one of the great modern day warriors was bludgeoning his way to a world title live on free to air TV.
and now he's their poster boy & marquee fighter. Funny old world.
I watched this fight live on stream Setanta Sports or something like that. I can't believe it was 5 years ago already. That's half a decade ago and I was still a teenager.
It's an underrated fight that I always mention when people speak about good action fights. The other day I saw a thread about a poster wanting to recommend good fights to a boxing noob, I think I read about 8 pages and realized nobody was going to mention this gem of a fight so I did.
The only problem, like always with good fights, was the wide scores for Froch at the end. He won, but not that widely. It was Nottingham after all, so yeah.
It was amazing.
Carl has been in a lot of great fights, but this is the best of the lot. I remember saying a few times during the fight 'they can't keep taking these shots' - somehow they did. Froch took over down the stretch but the first half was a very even war full of monster power punches.
Funnily enough I was watching parts of it earlier. I want to get the full fight in HD before I watch it again in full.
That was the first Froch fight I watched live. I remembered Froch taking a fcukload of flush shots on the chin that night and wondering how he managed it.
I also remember thinking I'd hate to fight Pascal in a bar brawl or club fight, he would tear it up.
