I actually think this is a good question.... good points to be made on either side.... but judging how people are acting like its a no brainer.... I can only assume that everyone is simply choosing to ignore the brutal and embarassing losses Roy has had over the last 10 years??
The poll question is who had a better RUN.
Roy Jones 49-1 run or Floyd's 43-0 run. Roy's losses aren't even relevant to what's being asked. They occured after his 49-1 run. The cutoff point for the poll question is the first Tarver fight.

I find Roy Jones Jr resume more impressive. I feel that Floyd's resume has more consistency in the sense that I don't rate a lot of Roy's opponents but he beat two ATGs in James Toney and Bernard Hopkins.
Floyd's resume has a lot of Hall of famers but lacks an All time great, you could say Marquez but in all honesty there was a noticeable size advantage.
And Mike McCallum.
im a massive roy fan too... one of the most amazing fighters ive ever seen in the ring... prime for prime (and assuming they were at the same weight) - roy wins hands down in a H2H.... actually I'd happily argue that Roy beats almost ANYONE H2H
However his resume wasnt that great... outside of Toney and Nard it's pretty bare... he gets huge credit for the Ruiz win tho
However Floyd's resume is more consistent over the lifespan of his career.... add that he never fought for a vacant belt and was lineal in at least 3 weight divisions I'd have to give it to Floyd.... I wouldnt say WAY better but still better
Unfortunately you and I are posting in the ulitmate "I hate Floyd" arena where no one is willing to admit that he's probably the best fighter of his generation and knocking on the door of the ATGs
Well said.... I forgot where I'm posting.
From top to bottom Floyd does have a better resume. Like I said, " I'm the biggest Jones fan on the planet" but all he's done lately is get has ass kicked. He should've retired after the first Tarver fight. Floyd had fought some solid competition himself.

This is just naming a few. From top to bottom Floyd's resume is much better

is this a serious question?
Hopkins and Toney alone beats Floyd's resume
then his HW belt, Hill, Reggie Johnson, Tarver 1, Griffin, etc
Roy cleaned out and unified LHW, Floyd never cleaned out any division
Roy>>>>>>>>>>>>>Floyd
exactly... Roy Jones JR's resume is way ahead by miles on Floyd's resume...
I voted for Jones without a doubt. Mayweather is great and he has done alot. Jones is even better and he has done more in my opinion. If Jones had retired after he won a piece of the heavyweight tittle his prestige would be higher. He hurt his legacy by fighting past prime. I don't hold those losses against but some do. If Mayweather loses a fight now at 36 it won't make me think less of him.
Jones should have retired after Tarver 1, losing 20lb of Muscle and regaining the lineal 175 title is amazing

Roy Jones Jr. resume:
Bernard Hopkins
Thulangi Malinga
James Toney
Antonio Tarver
Montell Griffin
Julio Cesar Gonzalez
Mike McCallum
Virgil Hill
Lou Del Valle
Clinton Woods
Eric Harding
Reggie Johnson
John Ruiz (accomplished something that hadn't been done in 106 years)
We been through Floyd's resume thousands of times already so I'm not going to go through it again. But clearly Jones has the better wins and the more impressive run. And yes, I realize that a few of those names were past prime but so were a lot of Floyd's recent wins.
Roy did have many great wins against his opposition, and the only reason I would say Roys Reign was more impressive; was his ability to finish fights impressively on a constant basis!

No, Toney and Hopkins are the only two really worth mentioning. I'm a Jones fan but I call it Like I see it

Roy beat Ruiz, who had an ABC belt and only because King wouldnt work well with Lennox otherwise Lennox would have had that belt.
Its a good win and all but it was a style picked that would work well for him and was the easiest way to a belt at heavy.
Floyd was lineal at 130, 135, would have been at 140 but Hatton's coach wouldnt allow the fight, then lineal at 147.
Jone's early career was impressive but towards the end his opposition was weak and the Ruiz win was good but still think mayweathers resume is better overall.
I agree with you and I'm one of the biggest Jones jr. fans on the planet. To be honest, I don't see any big wins on his résumé other than Hopkins and Toney.
