Sometimes when you do side by side comparisons, you subconsciously try to make different circumstances the same. But if I must put them side by side then I will.
Before I start let me say this. I try to base my stance on facts and strong logical opinion. I only enter my logical opinion when there are no facts to stand on.
Now let’s go side by side. I did not hear one person accuse Manny Pacquiao of PED use until Team Mayweather started openly picking against him AFTER he rose in weight and became the face of boxing. In each of his fights somebody from Floyd’s family would say Manny was going to lose. After he destroyed his opponents, then more whispers would start.
When your main accuser is your rival it gives the accusations less credence. In my opinion these accusations took a life of their own and everything Manny did or didn’t do became magnified. If he scored a brutal KO he was a PED user, if he went the distance then he was cycling off.
I personally never saw a huge change in Manny’s body or performances. As you cut less weight and become older you put slightly more mass on. But besides a small % of mass, I didn’t see a huge difference in Pacquiao. Although let me point out, a fighter has a right to improve and it doesn’t have to be because of the cheating.
Now let's go side by side. Although Freddie Roach made an unwarranted comment about Marquez, Team Pacquiao did not go on a crusade to discredit him. Pacquiao as always acted like a great sportsman and accepted his defeat. He’s also willing to fight Marquez no matter what. Some feel that Mayweather didn’t want to fight Pacquiao and the drug testing was just a ploy to not fight. When Manny has accepted blood testing against Mayweather, the original 50/50 offer is no longer valid. So that particular fact, gives that train of thought some credence.
While I refuse to condemn Marquez or Pacquiao, there have been many more suspicious circumstances surrounding Marquez. I didn’t make these things up, but when I’m asked I will discuss them. For one I didn’t want to bet on the fight because I kept hearing about PED use.
I ask people close to camps how fighters look before I make a public bet. I was hearing that both guys were looking great but Marquez was looking freakish. Knocking speed bags off the swivels, brutalizing sparring partners and not taking off his shirt much because the freakishly bulging muscles might look suspicious. Kim, I had to factor those things in, especially when I’m betting MY money.
Now Kim I have defended Marquez on several fronts, but I do discuss the totality of the circumstances and I did factor these things in before I decided NOT to bet on the fight. In fact my sources were 100% accurate in their assessment of Marquez’s freakish punching power leading into this fight. I have never heard so many PED rumors before a fight. There is no way we can overlook that Marquez looks less physically imposing in between Pacquiao fights, than he does for the Pacquiao fights. There is no way we can dismiss how flabby Marquez looked against Floyd in 2009 and how awesome he looked against Pacquiao in 2012. I am not implying or inferring anything, that’s just what it is.
Sure it could be natural. I personally walk around at about 210. Last year I ate everything my fighter eats before a fight, I ran and swam. No ballistic training and nothing special. I went down to 189 in 30 days and I got extremely cut. I am a few years younger than Marquez so I know with muscle confusion and super hard work great transformations can take place. But Marquez hired a strength coach, Memo Heredia who has changed his name after admittedly helping Olympians use PEDS-- it’s public record that he was not only a PED supplier but a “cooperating government witness”. In the hood you know what we call that.
Kim, it would be irresponsible to not talk about everything. So under the law, Marquez is clean until proven dirty. But there are some dubious circumstances that surround him. Will you agree?
On top of that in this business sometimes people with a platform can’t SAY everything they KNOW. Read what I’m about to say closely. There is a reason why Jim Lampley made the statement he made on his boxing show 2 weeks ago. Listen to him closely….
There is a reason why he mentioned VADA and no other testing agency. There is a reason why HBO purposely exposed Memo on the 24/7. We have to use OUR common sense Kim and take emotion out of it. There is a reason for all of these subtle insinuations.
So if you think I’m implying that Marquez is on something, I am NOT. I am openly suggesting that the “powers that be” are doing and saying certain things because they know a lot more than they say.
One more thing. This is a challenge to both Marquez and Pacquiao. If they want people to believe they are clean athletes, indulge in VADA testing immediately. Not when the fight gets announced or what have you. But immediately. Turn in all of your supplements and vitamins to VADA and allow them to be inspected. Be proactive and NOT reactive. Both of you great fighters.
It’s getting lame to say I will take whatever test they want me to take. We all know it doesn’t work like that. VADA has a V in it for a reason. Voluntarily is the word. So go volunteer for these test or the suspicion will always be there.
No, the fact is that Pacquiao has never agreed to extra testing. Telling the media that you will agree to extra testing and signing a contract that says you will agree to extra testing are 2 different things. Pacquiao and Arum count on ignorant fanboys like you that will just accept and believe whatever they say without questioning it.
Yes, it was turned down by Pacquiao. Marquez volunteered to submit to the random testing and Pacquiao decided to turn down his offer.
Well you're a biased hypocrite. Of course you're more suspicious of Marquez. The point continues to fly over your head though. If you dismissed suspicions concerning Pacquiao and gave him a pass for refusing Mayweather's request for extra testing because he had never failed the standard drug tests administered by the commision, then you should give Marquez that same benefit of the doubt. Otherwise you are a hypocrite. Your excuses for having a double standard are a joke.
I'm not Marquez or Heredia, you'll have to ask them that.

well he couldn't sign anything because money later became the issue and thus further stalled the fight from happening...the fact is pac later agreed to the extra testing with no cut off... he didn't agree initially, but he eventually wised up and decided to make it clear to everyone that extra testing with no cut off was no longer an issue for him. No, the fact is that Pacquiao has never agreed to extra testing. well imo marquez is far more suspicious than pacquiao considering marquez hired a known ped dealer/guru/chemist who has boasted about making 20 undetectable peds and about having a love for chemistry and helping athletes cheat....plus marquez's power and physical changes is shocking for a 39 year old..even nacho was surprised at how explosive and strong marquez was when they started camp for the 4th fight...marquez at 39 is knocking speed bags off their swivels, destroying sparring partners, squatting huge amount of weights, and putting pacquiao on the canvas twice in just 6 rounds, and all of this happening after he hired heredia... Well you're a biased hypocrite. Of course you're more suspicious of Marquez. The point continues to fly over your head though. if marquez is planning to continue fighting then he has to submit to all year round random testing because heredia himself has said that any boxer who plans to use his services has to submit to all year round testing. he said this in a USA Today article just before the 4th marquez fight...so how come marquez isn't doing all year round testing then? unless he plans on retiring.... I'm not Marquez or Heredia, you'll have to ask them that.

lets go to the video tape.....
bu-bu-but-but Freddie was just joking...
that makes it different.
/sarcasm.
The boxing media were trying to discredit a Marquez win before it even happened:rofl: There were a bunch of articles out there stating even if he won it would be "tainted". They had no evidence, only suspicions and IMO that is shoddy and irresponsible journalism. JMM should sue Roach and HBO for defamation like Manny sued Mayweather and Golden Boy.

Nope. Pacquiao telling the media that he will agree to random testing doesn't mean anything. Pacquiao and Arum can tell the media anything that they want. His word means nothing. Pacquiao has not agreed to extra testing, he's only told the media that he is willing to. When he signs a contract that says he will submit to extra testing, then you can that he has agreed. Until then, it's just talk.

How convenient is it to have Arum be the scapegoat? You would think that Pacquiao works for Arum instead of the other way around. Look man, I understand that Pacquiao comes across as a nice humble warrior who just wants to fight the best, but stop being so naive. If Pacquiao wanted to have extra testing for the Marquez fight then he could have gotten extra testing for the Marquez fight.
i think there's more to it than that...i do remember that team pac asked for extra testing, but it was turned down.
Yes, I'm definitely suspicious of Marquez at this point. I actually believe that Marquez has been on something for the last 2 Pacquiao fights. There's certainly reason to be suspicious of Marquez. I don't blame him though. I think that Pacquiao has been dirty off and on since probably '08. I feel that Marquez realized that he was being cheated in the ring and on the scorecards and decided to try and even the playing field. This is karma in my opinion.
well imo marquez is far more suspicious than pacquiao considering marquez hired a known ped dealer/guru/chemist who has boasted about making 20 undetectable peds and about having a love for chemistry and helping athletes cheat....plus marquez's power and physical changes is shocking for a 39 year old..even nacho was surprised at how explosive and strong marquez was when they started camp for the 4th fight...marquez at 39 is knocking speed bags off their swivels, destroying sparring partners, squatting huge amount of weights, and putting pacquiao on the canvas twice in just 6 rounds, and all of this happening after he hired heredia...
As far as Mayweather fans being hypocrites because they aren't attacking Marquez like they did Pacquiao. Like I've said, Marquez has not refused to submit to extra testing. Pacquiao was blasted because he refused to submit to more stringent testing. I think that plenty of people are suspicious of Marquez, but as long as the man is willing to subject himself to stricter testing when asked then there's no reason to blast him.
if marquez is planning to continue fighting then he has to submit to all year round random testing because heredia himself has said that any boxer who plans to use his services has to submit to all year round testing. he said this in a USA Today article just before the 4th marquez fight...so how come marquez isn't doing all year round testing then? unless he plans on retiring....
You know how I know the guy is a complete moron? He believed Marquez was on peds and didn't place a bet :lol1:
You better believe if I hear someone is on peds I'm putting money on them.
All Marquez has to do is refuse the blood testing for a potential future fight and it means that he is clean and Pac is dirty...that's how it worked with Manny
THAT would be EPIC..... O so epic.
Pac turned down extra testing (again) when JMM asked for them leading up to the fight. However they're urine test results came back the same! That's all that matters right?
So much irony.
he did... he later agreed to the extra testing that floyd wanted him to do and then the issue became about money. yes he didn't agree initially, and yes it does look bad on his part. but the truth is it was a rare request that came out of the blue...and pac felt that having his blood drawn too close to the fight would affect his performance. looking back was it the right decision for him to make? no...but he later agreed to the extra testing with no cut off. Nope. Pacquiao telling the media that he will agree to random testing doesn't mean anything. Pacquiao and Arum can tell the media anything that they want. His word means nothing. i believe pac's team did want to do extra testing for the 4th marquez fight but it was turned down by top rank/arum...How convenient is it to have Arum be the scapegoat? Look man, I understand that Pacquiao comes across as a nice humble warrior who just wants to fight the best, but stop being so naive. If Pacquiao wanted to have extra testing for the Marquez fight then he could have gotten extra testing for the Marquez fight.
but is it slightly suspicious that pac initially turned down the request of doing extra testing with no cut off? yah sure...but does marquez hiring a known ped dealer/guru/chemist to be his conditioning coach and as a result showing incredible and almost close to impossible results look more suspicious? HELL YES....
but let me ask you this...are you even the slightest bit suspicious of marquez given the circumstances of his transformation after hiring a known ped chemist/guru?
it's just as bad having people who supported floyd's quest for stricter testing and crucifying pac and attacking him for using peds to not even be suspicious of marquez....if pac hired a known ped dealer/chemist/guru to be his conditioning coach then you'd see endless threads on this topic.. Yes, I'm definitely suspicious of Marquez at this point. I actually believe that Marquez has been on something for the last 2 Pacquiao fights. There's certainly reason to be suspicious of Marquez. And Floyd only said he would fight PAcquiao to Fight Hype so we are supposed to take his word for it but not Pacquiao?
JMM saying he will take random testing doesnt mean crap, lance armstrong, marion jones both said it, Pacquiao never said he wouldnt take random testing he just had a superstitious belief that if he takes it too close to the fight it would weaken him, and dont come back saying that was a made up excuse, I know it sounds laughable, but the guy said that in 2005 way before his fight discussion with Floyd, so you cant really get at Pacman, the only truth here is Floyd didnt want to fight Manny and Arum didnt want to put Manny in with Floyd.
Pacquiao has never agreed to any form of random blood testing. Saying that he will agree to random testing in the media means absolutely nothing. He's said a lot of different things, just because he says something doesn't make it true. If he signs a contract that says he will submit to random blood testing then you can say that he has agreed to those form of tests. Until then, you're just blowing smoke.
The point remains, you sound like a hypocrite. Save the excuses. The Mayweathers aren't all powerful. Don't blame people being suspicious of Pacquiao on them. Pacquiao walking away from the Mayweather fight in '09 because he didn't want to submit to stricter testing did more to make people suspicious of him than the Mayweathers' ever could. You can say what you want about Marquez, but he hasn't refused to submit to stricter testing. Evidently Team Pacquiao weren't that concerned about him taking PEDs because they didn't take Marquez up on his offer to take random blood testing. Or maybe Pacquiao just had something to hide himself, who knows?Marquez hasn't refused to submit to stricter testing you nitwit. Pacquiao was "attacked" for walking away from the most anticipated fight of the last 10-15 years because he refused to submit to random blood testing. You're nowhere near rational dude, you're a fanboy. The article is garbage, a essay filled with weak justifications for having double standards. It's cowrdly as well, he couldn't stand behind the fact that he's obviously implying that Marquez is dirty. Article is sucker sh*t.
threads like this show fan boys true colors. all of the sudden stricter testing had to happen. gtfoh with that s hit

suspicion for pac is no where near the same level as marquez...ped accusations against pac didn't start until floyd started pointing fingers, and plus pac later agreed to testing with no cut off date (of course it was somewhat suspicious that he didn't agree initially)...ped accusations for marquez started once he hired a known ped dealer/guru/chemist and as a result looked bigger/more muscular than ever and on top of that displayed monstrous punching power and all of this happening at age 39.Pacquiao has never agreed to any form of random blood testing. Did JMM refuse to be tested? Did he come up with such excuses as fear of needles, superstition? Did JMM ever demand cutoffs? Did JMM ever declare OSDT to be 'no problem' only to later back out?
How would it be possible for Pac to test positive on 3 occasions and have USADA cover it up when PAC REFUSED TO BE TESTED, period. You = logic fail.
Did JMM hire a trainer whose fighters have tested positive for banned substances?
Did Pac tested positive on 3 occasions but covered up by GBP and USADA just like what they did to Morales?
Did Pac hired a well know supplier/maker of 20 undetectable PEDs just to wash his backside?
He works for B-Talk and is also a boxing trainer. I love reading his articles. One of the most knowledgeable boxing people today.
This^^^^
One of the best writers out. I also enjoy his breakdown of fights
Did Pac tested positive on 3 occasions but covered up by GBP and USADA just like what they did to Morales?
Did Pac hired a well know supplier/maker of 20 undetectable PEDs just to wash his backside? There is only one country on earth that believes Manny is clean :lol1:. Literally every other country on earth sees it is clear as day that Manny and JMM are both dirty as hell.
All Marquez has to do is refuse the blood testing for a potential future fight and it means that he is clean and Pac is dirty...that's how it worked with Manny

This guy sure doesn't hide who's side he's on.
In this article he clearly says that there's no reason to accuse Pac for doping but there's a lot of reasons to accuse Jmm of doping but their situations and evidence are the same....
hahahah wtf seriously?
