Little bit of a contradiction i know cos obviously a successful fighter has gotta have some kinda skills. But what i mean is those guys who seemingly go totally against the grain of what you get taught in a boxing gym. The guys who plod forward with their body wide open, bad footwork, no defense, no gameplan etc.
"The best offense is a good defense", not been a saying for who knows how long; for *****$ and giggles!
actually , it's the opposite .. offense score points , not defense
To say that Chavez Jr. is unskilled or "lacks textbook boxing ability" is utterly ridiculous and trivial.
Watch the Peter Manfredo fight. He was an excellent boxer puncher, showed great head movement and counter punching.
Now watch the Rubio fight. He swarmed him effectively and beat him down.
For some strange reason he decided to become a pothead for the biggest fight of his career and he paid for it, but even then he almost KO'ed Martinez.
Don't let your hate for him cloud your judgement on his skills. He's not the most skilled by a long shot but the guy's got skills.
depends on how you define skilled.. to idiots skilled is prety much being pure boxers .. or defensive oriented fighters
to me , skillled offensive fighters >>>>>>>>>>skilled defensive fighters

The onus is on Bradley to shine, everyone keeps putting the blame on Pacman oh he couldnt finish a one foot Bradley, well Bradley couldnt knockout a past prime Pacquiao.
When Pacquiao was given his moment he delivered and that was against Oscar De La Hoya, against Hatton, against Barrera, against Cotto, that is why he drew millions, Bradley got his moment and he cowered and fought safe and scary, not like a guy who wanted to be remembered as a great.
In these fights the blame goes on the younger lion trying to make a name for himself, Bradley failed to impress not Pacquiao.
Pacquiao actually look good, compare his fight with Bradley a top undefeated guy in his prime and he barely got hit, Floyd fought a bloated and washed up Cotto and expected an easy fight and he said in his post fight he was his toughest fight.
Pacquiao wasn't as active but Bradley didn't even try to win, dude looked in survival mode that is why he busted his ankle from back stepping so fast and not planting his foot right.
This argument is about skill, which Bradley showed whether he got a gift or didn't impress with one leg (god forbid). The fact you bring up Floyd fighting a bloated Cotto; Pacquiaos record, which is no need to mention Pacquiao trying to bloat up Marquez and his lack of skills got his A$$ Knocked out.
SKILLS are what we are speaking of, So the argument Bradley is skill-less is a rediculous notion.

Saul Canelo Alvarez
here is why. he's displayed exceptional power against fighters who were either out of their prime, weight drained, old or two weight classes below him.
He has done nothing to earn a fight with Floyd

Haters
All these so called boxing fans who love to hate on the all action style of some boxers. If you guys don't like Rios and Margarito then have fun watching Alexander, andBradley Skilled but it sucks watching them, you need guys who put pressure on them to make them. fight.
The most welknown unskilled fighter today is obviously Chavez JR. He can barely eat cereal and walk without tripping! His jab (when ever thrown) comes out in sections and couldn't hurt a fly! His style and skill set is simply VOID! Just a terrible excuse for a Pro Boxer! Ray
The worst that I think that are out there currently are:
Carl Froch - I know people will hate on this one but I am sorry, it is true. Froch has terrible footwork, he is agonizingly slow, he has no defense, and he throw punches with sloppy technique at best. If it were not for his chin, he would not even be at this level at all.
Cornelius Bundrage - He is just simply awful, it is hard to even watch him in the ring. No skill whatsoever and I am shocked he is even able to win at this level. Probably the worst fighter out there in my opinion.
JCC Jr. - Riding on a family name and has a very novice skill set. Other than the left hook he probably inherited genetically, he does nothing else well at all.
This has nothing to do with courage, toughness, grit, heart, chin, etc...I mean actual boxing skill/technique.
Bradley is far from unskilled in boxing. The fact Pacquiao couldn't finish a one footed Bradley for 8 rounds, shows he has skills beyond footwork. While you bring up Pacquiao, who happens to be one of the most single conventional fights, with no skill building in his entire career. If a fighter only relies on his set gifts from god (speed, power, athleticism) and choose not to learn any other aspect of the sport; that shows lack of skills.

ricardo mayorga
julio cesar chavez, jr.

off the top of my head...
Chavez Jr. is skilled somewhat.
Just cause Maravilla made him a punching bag doesn't make him unskilled.
Look at the Andy Lee fight. Once he found his range he effectively used feints and head movement to beat the hell out of him.
It's my personal opinion my friend. Some will agree, some won't. I think the Pacquiao fight showed the dude doesn't belong in the elite level.
