A WBC junior middleweight eliminator purse bid has been ordered for Friday for the right to promote the rematch between Erislandy Lara (17-1-2, 11 KOs) and Vanes Martirosyan (32-0-1, 20 KOs), who battled to November's ninth-round, technical decision draw after an accidental clash of heads caused a cut over Martirosyan's left eye and forced the verdict to go to the scorecards.
The winner of Lara-Martirosyan II will become the mandatory challenger to WBC beltholder Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (41-0-1, 30 KOs), according to Sulaiman.

Hope Lara doesn't leave his balls at home and comes to fight. All that running and dirty tactics were a disgrace, at least Vanes came ready to go to war and give the fans what they wanted, without the dirty tactics.
Vanes' footwork is a lot better than what he showed in their first fight. If Vanes can move his feet better, cut the ring off rather than chase him, more head movement and let his hands GO, I see him comfortably beating the overrated Lara. Now that he felt Lara's power and wasn't too impressed, I see him more relaxed and aggressive with his punches.
Bull rushing does not equal footwork...

why ? why does it even matter who gets this fight as long as it happens..ok , you want to put it on a floyd undercard
The winner of the fight gets Canelo. The best way to build that fight would be to put this on the May 4th undercard.

Because Vanes, the Top Rank fighter benefitted last time around. The only one who did any damage the last round for as long as it lasted was Lara. Not sure how or who could've had that fight a draw.

even though it wasn't the most entertaining fight, i'm def looking forward to a rematch. like someone already said, it's good to see two top fighters go at it. i expect the rematch to be better seeing as they now know how it is to be in the ring with each other. hopefully gbp wins it and throws it on that may 4th undercard, that would be something. either way, i'm glad it's happening.
Your hate for canelo is sad.Tell us what happend between u and canelo.
He's a bum hype job that's infected the networks & brought about a fanbase as retarded as the Pa((tard fanbase.
I voted Vanes to win the decision this time. I think he will finish strong and win it in the late rounds. Whoever wins deserves a tittle shot for sure and should be considered the top contender in my opinion.
What I'm more interested in is the excuses that'll pour forth when the winner comes to ginger bumyhpe's door looking to collect on his mandatory shot.

If they really wanna match the winner of these 2 vs Canelo, GBP needs to win this bid and put it on the May 4th card. But we know it's all bullcrap...

Tough to say if the rematch will pick up where the first one ended or if it will play out the same way as the first. Vanes doesn't look like the smart type so something tells me he might not be able to adjust to those straight lefts and hopefully Lara brings his right hook that night too. I know a lot of people found the first fight dull but I somewhat enjoyed it :lol1:
I like it when good, prime fighters face-off. Too often we see an age/talent disparity in fights. Way too often.
This is a good point. I found the fight okay, myself...not great, but not terrible. What was always in the air was the sense that these were two fairly evenly matched opponents.
I remember before the fights everyone was making it seem like Lara was untouchable, but Vanes actualy got to him early and was winning some rounds in the beginning. I think Vanes pulls it out and decisions Lara, it probably wont be pretty, but a win is a win.
You saw the wrong fight. Either buy a pair of glasses or tune in to the right channel.

I thought Vanes did better than expected. I think Lara will be more aggressive next time.
Actually, the fight was playing a lot like I thought it would. Lara wasn't letting his hands go as much as I had envisioned, but I think that will change for the next fight. He needs to incorporate his right hook too.
I also thought he would be throwing his right hook which I think he didn't throw at all. Vanes was getting tagged with plenty of those in the Ouma fight I believe, as well as straight lefts of course.
