I think people are forgetting that Trout is a Haymon fighter. Canelo shouldn't walk to the ring with the thought that he'll get a decision no matter what.
trout is overrated? where?
I've seen him ranked as high #2 in the world at 154. I'm not saying that people are claiming he is the future #1 p4p or anything, but he's getting just a bit too much regard for the Cotto win.
Oh, and Molina to your predicted follow up question of who I think should be ranked higher.
i dont think people give Canelo enough credit on his adjustment ability. Will it be a hard fight for him stylistically? yes! can he adapt and make adjustments ? yes! he does have a boxing IQ . once he figure trout out he will hurt him and once he smells blood its over for the pescado trout!
can u refer me to a match where i can see him adjusting so i can watch it? im serious not joking
Trout would have to win 10-2 or 11-1 to get the decision. I think it'll be a clear but close win for Canelo in this matchups of overrateds

Canelo's stiffness and lack of movement will cause him to lose a decision. Trout is the absolute worst style for Alvarez. Big guy who is very mobile, can keep distance, and has fantastic timing.
I bet Alvarez cuts the ring off and gives Trout a Mosley type beating
I think Trout wins. Canelo does have the power to win this one. While Trout is somewhat elusive he is not very hard to hit. It might actually be an interesting fight.
My hat goes off if Canelo picks Trout as his next opponent. I doubt it though.
So Trouts 14 Ko's in 29 fights = Thundering power I suppose
Its a tough one for me to call. I am a fan of Alvarez and have been for 2 or 3 years now. Of course I want him to win, but without him really being tested, its hard to say if he has the stuff to beat Trout. I hate to say this, but I have a feeling Trout will win this by decision. I think Canelo will make it a more exciting and closer fight than Cotto did. There's always a chance Canelo gets a gift decision too. If Canelo wins it fair and square, I wan't be too shocked, just extremely relieved. lol
If Trout can get Canelo to respect his power, and keep Canelo off him with that hard jab, he can win the fight by a clear and competitive decision. Trout won't be able to rough and man handle Canelo, the way he was able to do so with Cotto, a smaller fighter.
But if Canelo doesn't feel Trout's power and can walk through them, he'll be able to get Trout inside and hurt him, and can keep him on the ropes the way Cotto couldn't.
I think Trout's going to win a very close decision, leading to a rematch in September probably.
