I know Boxrec is far from 100% and sometimes inaccurate but i think we might be seeing this fight on May 4th.
MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
welterweight Floyd Mayweather Jr SC Robert Guerrero 12
light middleweight Saul Alvarez SC Austin Trout 12
middleweight J'Leon Love SC TBA 10
The Great Canelo to bless us with another fight. Lets see if Trout really wants it. I heard he trying to price himself out the fight already.
canelo will get r@ped worser then his brother & he will become the laughing stock of boxingscene.com...............
Was just looking for that amount because that's probably ballpark of what it would be.
Also Mayweather/Guerrero is back up on boxrec with Canelo vs TBA now...
Edit: Lopez made $212,500 to Canelo's $2m+
I can't see Trout getting paid less than he did for his fight with Cotto. 300k should be the minimum.

Yeah, it was a f.ucked up amount, but I think he made less than that against Ortiz.
How much did Lopez make?

I was thinking about this earlier...what is a reasonable amount to pay Austin Trout to fight Canelo on the May 4th bill?
He made 240k for the Cotto fight, so I dunno if Golden Boy would wanna pay that or more. Ultimately he is an opponent, and what he stands to gain from the fight is exposure.
I'd bet that's what is holding it up: Austin knows how much a Canelo fight is/should be worth, and Golden Boy probably doesn't want to give it to him.

Man, I drank too much 2 days ago... for some reason Im thinking February and May are back to back months.
Yeah, obviously that is doable. That actually would be a great card...
haha I feel ya.
Thanks man.
Yeah Broner said he would make easy work of his Feb fight and that if Floyd makes it happen he would be ready for May.
Floyd suggested that Broner should fight on his card and Broner said he's game. As a young dude, fighting in Feb and then again in May is not abnormal.

@NoDoubtTrout @ChrisMannixSI once again showing Canelo was all talk about avenging his brother's loss.
Props to Canelo and his handlers for taking this fight if this is true. Trout deserves a shot at the spotlight for beating Cotto and this will be a good test for Canelo.
Broner is rumored for February now.... Hope I'm wrong, bad ass avi.
Thanks man.

Hopefully The Ghost gets the respect he deserves after this fight. People sound as if they think Floyd is getting better with age or something....he isn't Martinez and the decline is more noticeable with each successive fight.
i'm a fan of the ghost too, but i just don't think mayweather is done yet. i think if anything, mayweather could win this fight 7-5/8-4. a tough fight, but in the end the clear winner.
hit up my bet thread if you're willing to bet on guerrero against mayweather (post the amount you're willing to put up).

hate to be the one to **** on everyone's parade but.......

Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer tells SI that @NoDoubtTrout is "being considered" for Canelo but "at this point, don't think it will happen"
and then trout replies with this....

@ChrisMannixSI there you go y'all kill all that excitement (._.)

scary but great fight for canelo i think he may lose but he needs this type of fight to shut up the haters b4 he fights floyd a fight like this is needed to make sense of a floyd fight for him!

complete and total props/respect to alvarez if he does in fact get in the ring may 4th against trout. i'd favor trout, but i wouldn't mind seeing either fighter win tbh. the winner of this fight can be claimed as the best at 154 imo. floyd holds a title there, but he's only fought twice at 154 and is likely to return to WW in his next fight. i can't wait until official bouts and pressers come around. hopefully it's a great card.
