The Klitschkos, Haye, Adamek, Povetkin, Arreola, Pulev, Chisora, Fury, Price.
While this division isn't the most exciting in boxing, it has plenty of talent and every one of these guys has something entertaining about them(klitschkos are boring but they almost always finish their guy). So why do the heavies get ***** on all the time as a weak division? Is is just because there's no American in it aside from Arreola?
They haven't reached out to the world!! The Vegas scene is a big draw for boxing where are they??? Have they fought on other continents, how often do they actually fight?? One of them got blasted in Vegas (I think) but the Americans gave him props for standing in and giving an effort!! Where did he go after that?? If his county was to be the "new" geographic boxing headquarters where are all the shows emunating from it?? Theres alot missing from their promotion, to bad they didn't sign "short term"(3 years) with King they would have made alot more money (him too hahahaha) but they would have gotten one hell of an education on how and where to promote!!! Ray
one of the klits actually said they do not need american promotion and can do fine in europe alone, which they are right..On another note one of the klits also said he planned to do a US tour one more time
also how many americans are willing to travel abroad to show support for american boxers whether they be black white native etc=0
europeans travel and show support for the most part..
The heavyweight division is that bad. It really is. There is young talent that holds promise, but they are not yet proven. Over the last 5-10 years, the division has been horrendous.
i think it would have looked better had the people below the K-bros fought each other more, and had the two elite fighters of the division fought each other (obvious reasons why they didnt). My first post set out reasons why i thought the division looked worse than it was.
Im not a Klittard.
If the K-Bros were american they would be very popular. They would be more popular if they were white American than black.
The heavyweight division isnt great but nowhere near as bad as people like to portray.
So Wlad had a boring performance. Every fighter does. Hes knocked the vast majority of his opponents out as has Vitali (who is very rarely boring).
If they were doing this to American or Mexican fighters with any kind of following then they would get far more credit than they do for being euro fighters in europe. Prime example Martinez got massive credit for beating Chavez who is not a great boxer, just big, would casual American audiences care if he beat Golovkin?
This thread isnt even about the K-Bros.

Klittard World:
Wladimir was never given chances because he's not American and black'
Life is unfair..Wlad was never given chances to shine..
Real World:
Wladimir vs Sultan took place at MSG- the mecca of boxing.. Everyone left or booed them.... Wlad was fired from HBO.
Klittard World:
NOBODY LOVES WLAD BECAUSE HE DON'T FIGHT MEXICANS OR AMERICANS.
Real World:
Wlad has fought more American fighters than any other nationality.
Wlad's fights all the way up to 2007ish was shown on HBO.
Welcome to the real world Neal.

They never bought into a real promotion! Very few become famous without "ties" in the business!!
I've been saying they're both ordinary boxers since I joined here yet theres fans who think their ATG!!! Really???
I just want them and Mayweather and Manny and Juan to go home!!
Its time to see these younger generation perform on the big stage and see who can with stand the tests of time!! Not a defeat, the ups & downs of boxing!! Get the undefeated crap out of your minds and get real. Floyd clinging to his undefeated record has deminished his boxing attitude and in its place its enhanced his business aptitude!!! Only thing is he already made his money and he now gets more boring every time out!! If Robert could get by the first 3 rounds we may see Floyd actually have to fight someone!! Ray.

because it is crap. are you saying you dont think its a weak division? seriosuly? because if so you dont know good boxing when you see it.
matter fo fact i can tell you dont. the HW division lacks talent far more than it does excitement. you can get some decent fights every now and then but with the exception of the klitschkos, adamek and haye is completely void of talent.
even they are not overly talented either tbh, put them in another division or era and vitali and adamek are the only ones who could hold their own. guys like arreola, fury, chisora etc are garbage, absolutely terrible. you call that talent? who are you trying to fool?
Klitschko's used to fight in America, what happened? They couldn't draw flies to sh1t because they are boring as FUCK
The Klitschkos are 6"7, built like brick sh1thouses, ko a massive amount of their opponents, they run charities, are excellent in interviews and are crazy marketable in terms of sponserships. If they were born and bred in America they would be huge, esp in America but also around the world because of the influence American culture has on the rest of the world (even if that influence is waning slightly). Mayweather has been boring most of his career (from casual fan perspective), how is he doing?
This is all speculation obviously but thats how i see it.
edit this is all wrong lol i was arguing a different argument.
If the K-bros there was a load of american or mexican fighters for them to ko or beat they would get more credit for winning than they do.
But Marquez, Pacquiao and Martinez are not heavyweights.
There have always been great fighters from other countries in the smaller divisions (Duran, Monzon, etc).
The truth is: some people feel the heavyweight champion should be an African-American, or at least a black man. That's just the way it is. That's why some narrow-minded older men hate the Klitschkos.
But Marquez, Pacquiao and Martinez are not boring as F*CK
The truth is: some people feel that boring fighters are boring and nobody wants to watch boring fighters. That's just the way it is.
All of these fighters fight in America against American or Mexican opponents so they get way more exposure in the states than the K-bros do. Bad comparison.

Youre right, and i wrote in a thread yesterday saying that boxing missed Don Kings ambition in promoting his fighters overseas... but how much did that happen outside of King?
The Klitschkos would be a hell of a lot more popular globally if they were American in the 50's-00's. As it is they are just crazy popular in Eastern Europe, and much less so everywhere else. But hey they are ridiculously rich so im sure they aren't complaining.

I's been a weak division for a long time now and I see no help on the horizon! It has little to do with not having an American fighter as a lead it does have to do with obvious talent levels and then the personality to bring boxing back to the fore front. Boxing goes as the Heavyweight Champion goes!!!
I'm not trying to add to the knock on the Klitz. Bros. but they're NOT box office their NOT world wide and their NOT talented enough to catch the sporting publics eye!!! If they were, then boxing would be healthier and the better divisions wouldn't seem so far ahead!
It helps to have a bit of history of boxing to formulate an opinion on the division the first Heavyweight Champion that I recognized as a young man was Ezzard Charles but then Rocky Marcianos reign was a very public and openly successfull one!!! Rocky was an engaging fellow who was serious about helping kids and promoting boxing and was a private man also!!
The big names that followed kept the division strong for many years!!
Ali
Frazier
Holmes
Forman
Holyfeild
Tyson
then the Lewis's to the Klitz Bros. I'm excluding the marginal (alpha. champs)
like Bonecrusher, Berbick and all that "I won a title" BS!!!
Boxing needs a World Wide recognizable man with talents and charisma with wide shoulders to carry boxing back to the status it once held!! Ray.
Thing is the reason those fighters were able to achieve world wide status was because of America's position as global leaders. If you were big in America then you were big everywhere. The Klitschkos are charismatic, personable, they run charities, Vitali is in politics, but the fact that they are from a poor eastern euro country makes it much more difficult to gain a global fanbase.

In my opinion you are a phaggot.
Marquez gets praised
Pacquiao gets praised
Martinez gets praised
Klitschko's blow.

I think in some ways the Klitschkos have made the division worse through no fault of their own...
First they are the only cash cows of the division. This means the people below them dont want to fight each other because they may lose and go out of contention for a shot at the k-bros.
Second their size has meant smaller heavys (up to 220lbs) have tried to bulk up because they believe it will help them compete. Unfortunately bulking up past their natural weight has left them looking pudgy and imo negatively affected their performance (Solis prime example).
Thirdly they are so damn dominant. Fans rarely see the K-bros out of their comfort zone, history has shown us the more dominant you are the less people respect you. Marciano, Holmes, Hopkins, too a certain extent Lewis, all suffered from this.
Finally the fact that they are brothers has meant for years and years we have not seen the two top heavys fight each other. Obviously i dont expect them to fight (and completely respect that), but imagine if they werent brothers and they had a too and fro trilogy with each other? Suddenly the era doesnt look so bad.
I like the look of the heavies on their way up at the moment though, i have high hopes for Fury, Price, Pulev, Chisora (if he can get in shape properly), even Deontay Wilder could be an ok heavy in a few years. Im sure there are more but im having a mind blank at the minute...
You're comparing Holyfield to fighters like Adamek and Haye? James Toney became an HW when the division was heading to the ****ter.
So? He became a heavyweight therefore the division sucks? It's not like he did anything noteworthy. James Toney makes some of the number 1 contenders of the past look like Olympians. Check out Tony Galento who floored Joe Louis and Chuck Wepner who knocked down Ali.
