its gonna change from person to person since everyone gets diffrent impressions from each fight. alot of ppl will primarily remember the JMM KO loss, but just as many will remember the hatton KO the most, or the DLH win.
in the end ppl will remember his career as a whole. this idea that a fighter only leaves one stand out impression that sticks with ppl and everything else fades away with time is nonsense. ppl will remember all of it more or less equally. the last fight sticks out right now because its just that, the last fight.
also let me add i think even the casual fan for the most part is smart enough to realize no fighter at this level is scared of another fighter.
What will be the image that is ingrained in the mind of the public regarding Pacquiao?
That steroids have had a huge impact on the sport and that Pac has refused to submit to extra testing (and openly/shamelessly ducked Floyd for 3-4 years because of it).
That is what they will remember. That and skip looking like a cry baby on ESPN after Pac was put to sleep by a right hand. Only now does everyone see the concern of PEDS…
So to sum it up, the casual fans see the irony of it all. They see a media made product put to sleep and that even his most dearest fans only now act like PEDS are a problem. The problem is, Floyd made notice years ago and Pac refused on every level. So much so that he ducked a $50-100 million pay day to fight a loser named Clottey for about 90% less. Will they remember that? No, but they now know why the fight was never made and that was Pac didn't ever submit to testing. The same testing he wants others to take but not himself.
To this day, thanks to ESPN, the casuals know that Pac has never submitted to extra testing but that both JMM and Pac passed the same tests that Pac thought was good enough when he refused to fight Mayweather all these years. Yet JMM is now the one that is supposed to be the cheater?
Floyd will most be remembered for robbing Castillo in the first fight and also losiing ouut on the FOtD which he so badly wanted. He will also be remembered for not learning from his mistakes and still do as little as possible as he can humanly possible to get away with.
like thinking fighting cotto at 154 makes up for everything, even though pac destroyed him and most think bradley would be a tougher fight than the cotto vs floyd fight.
the thread is about how manny will be remembered. not floyd. stay on topic. I know its hard because Manny got KTFO! But seriously, haven't you gotten over it yet?

Nah, More like the guy who destroyed almost every Mexican he ever faced.
Your comment is exactly the reason why Mexico is smiling right now! You don't have to say destroying "Mexicans" to where it sounds anti Mexican!, Because he also fought and beat others that were not Mexican. I would be willing to bet that all the pics and jokes you see about Pacquiao(bob sledding, getting a massage, pacs sleeping pills, etc) were most likely made by some mexicans. As it would have been the other way around as well. It just sounds like kids do when they get mad,"oh yeah, well, well, well he beat every Mexican he ever fought" lol. How About this one" how many Mexicans does it take to beat manny Pacquiao? only Juan.(only one)lol.
Oh I agree they get over it! But like me for example the KO will always haunt me. But the bitterness of some peoples attitudes. Gets abit too much to the point that. You can say that's not cool for example I recall many 'hardcore fans' saying oh I wish he died in the ring stuff like that. I personally love trash talking especially when its floyd fans. But the animation of any fighter dead like that on a bobsled etc is too far in my opinion!
Peace Love and Harmony!
I agree with you! I was happy when the ko came!,I celebrated!, but soon after I felt bad for Pacquiao and his wife..some people start resorting to some real racist stuff!.
Option 1. They were here to see an attraction, a superman. Instead they saw a decapitation. The planking stuff is what will live on. The curious saw their last Pacquiao fight.
To casuals fans they will remember him being knockout cold. To hardcore fans he will be remembered for being a great fighter and a good sport even in a loss like that.
I'll remember him as a humble boxer who never disrespected any of his opponents in or out of the ring.
He deliberately punched JMM when he was down in the first fight, he deliberately attacked him with his head on the second, in the third he said he clearly won the fight after he was almost crying in his corner, in the fourth all the compliments he had for Márquez "he is not an easy fighter to beat".
I´m sorry, he is garbage, long run ped user, wife cheater, two faced politician, and was a thief in his youth.
He's the guy who scared Floyd. Evidence? The biggest fight of our time didn't happen. Further evidence? The guy who KOd the midget is his fourth fight with the scary Pacman.

I don't agree with you but whatever.
This is not a matter of opinion.
Tyson is remember as a icon of devastation. Just go to Youtube and search Mike Tyson - the majority of the videos are Tyson KO videos. The Buster Douglas loss isn't even on the first page.
Go to any information site on Mike Tyson and the first thing you're going to find are his accolades. The fact that you remember him for being knocked out is your own personal opinion. Everyone else remembers him as a bad-ass.
He will be rembered as the guy mayweather was scared of. Pretty much what casuals fans think already.
FOTD, you are remembered for accolades and awards. Floyd will be remembered for missing out on that award, but not learning his lesson and still trying to do as little as he can get away with and not over achieving.
For example he thinks he can fight Pacs used goods, but at 154 and that makes the world of difference somehow.
When Bradley or cotto were debated on who was the toughest opponent i remember bradley being considered the harder opponent by more people.
There is abit of irony here, the topic is about casual fans remembering pacman. Yet it is the guys on here that call themselves 'true fans' go gaga over pacquiao getting ko'd. Its like they have never seen a Ko before. As a pacman fan and a boxing aficionado. I got over the fight about a week after, because that's one of the sacrifices boxers have to pay. But all those that love to hate are in actual fact the 'casual fans'. Its a disgrace, they laugh and jeer those that get KO'd like that. Especially with those Bobsled things! Y'all should learn to respect.
Its the way he got KTFO and he also has some annoying fans that most people don't like. The third fight it was the foot stomping excuse and now even though he got Facquiao'd and his @ss got put the fk to sleep his fans are still in denial. That's the reason why I'm glad it happened.
The little Asian fighter that was destroying guys twice his size and scared mayweather into retirement and shameless ducking
Nah, More like the guy who destroyed almost every Mexican he ever faced.
