Man that was a damn good fight..Martinez beat him ass..but Chavez never stopped trying much respect to both..but Chavez needs more discipline to back up his toughness
I only pick Martinez and GGG to beat him at MW, with discipline and a firmer hand in training, he could still go places.
Sergio busted his gut up...
His body punching was not mentioned much in the post fight, but he ravaged Julio's body throughout this match. That straight left was excellent.

Beautiful boxing. Constantly turning him and landing combinations. I find hilarious that Chavez Jr., a pro boxer, never picked up on the right jab up top, straight left to the body that Sergio kept throwing. Didn't even try to block it.
Funny how Martinez was beating the bigger man up in the pocket as well
When some Chavez fans say he just had to start the fight like he fought the 12th and then he would have won they show that they did not learn the lessons from the fight. It wasn't like Martinez was not getting hit. He was, but he was taking the punches and hitting Chavez with more in return. They clearly hurt Chavez and caused him to back up on a few different occasions. He also could not get off a lot since he fights flat-footed and Martinez' style is based on movement.
Chavez has to improve a lot especially if he plans to move up soon since his size advantage will shrink.
